Great for cakes
Iโve tried a lot of different food colourings over the years, but ColourMill really stands out. The pigmentation is incredibly strong, so you only need the tiniest drop to get a rich, vibrant colour. It mixes smoothly with buttercream, ganache, and even chocolate without causing them to split, which is something cheaper brands struggle with. The colours develop beautifully as they rest, giving a professional finish with very little effort. I used mine for buttercream cupcakes and a drip cake, and the shades stayed true without fading โ even after being stored overnight. Another big plus is how easy it is to blend custom shades. Because the formula is oil-based, everything combines evenly and consistently. The bottles are small but powerful; they last much longer than they look. Overall, ColourMill is definitely worth the price if you want reliable, vibrant, bakery-quality colours. Great for beginners and experienced bakers alike.

Good
best for rich cake creams, great as a color but also as a base to make the target color stronger

Whitening in minutes
Good for using in buttercream as is a tasteless colour that does not alter the flavour of your frostings.

Lid could be better but colour is great
Have purchased multiple times for colouring icing and chocolate white. The only colouring I use for chocolate!! Best quality whitener I've found and can't taste it. Only issue is the colouring always ends up on the lid/leaking if it's not standing upright all the time

Great food colour.
This works great to lighten and disguise that yellow pigment that butter has. Paired with a teeny spot of lilac the butter icing comes up great with this!

Order it regularly
This is great mixed with a tiny amount of lavender or purple to remove the yellow tones from buttercream and white chocolate.

Works perfect with Almond Bark
Just used yesterday with Almond bark and it did not clump up the almond bark at all. The color is workable. I did a few drops to get the light mint color. I am extremely happy with this product.

Effective but Requires More Quantity for Desired Shade
The Colour Mill Oil-Based Food Coloring in white did help brighten the cream for my cake, especially since it was originally yellow due to chocolate and butter. However, I found that it required a lot of the white dye to achieve the desired shade, and I ran out quickly. I had to buy another brand from my local store to finish the job, which turned out to be more effective and required less product. I also used the white dye for a blue cream, which needed additional bleaching to get the right shade. Overall, it's effective but not as efficient as I hoped.
