Just as good as the name brands
This stuff is cheaper than Evaporust so I got it for a rusty motorcycle gas tank I had. I had tried the Vinegar trick with little success due to it flash rusting in literal minutes. After that failure I got this and let it sit for about 3 days and the metal was completely clear of rust. I also didn't have to try flushing the gas tank like crazy with a garden hose or neutralizing any acids since this isn't acidic. For my MC gas tank all I had to do to rinse it out was put in about 3/4 of a gallon and swash it around for about 3-4 minutes; did it once again with another 3/4 of a gallon for another 3-4 minutes and then just filled up the tank with fresh gas. It's been about 4 months since then and my tank is still about 99.9% clear. I never put an epoxy coating in it since I've heard bad things and figured keeping the tank full of gas should be good enough. 99.9% free of rust after 4 months proves this stuff works and won't cause issues like vinegar does. I keep it in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid as well for when I need more of it. Shelf life is a year after opening.

Did wonders for old gas tank
Trying to get an antique car back to running condition, and the gas tank had lots of rust inside. I got rid of the old gas and washed it out as best I good, but there was still lots of rust. Since this makes enough to fill the tank, I thought I'd give it a try. The key I found is that cold water won't work. I filled it up, but after 12 hours, not much had happened. Recommendations were to warm it up a little, so I put a 500 watt halogen work light next to the tank. Once the solution warmed up, it did wonders! Two days later, the solution had turned black as coffee and I couldn't even see the bottom of the tank anymore. Once I got the solution out, all I can say is WOW! It cleaned up the rust beautifully on a 77 year old gas tank. The sender was sitting in it, and the tank was as rusty as the sender. The bottom of the sender is pretty much how well the tank cleaned up.

This is the one
I messed up and forgot to take a before picture so there is no use posting an after. I'll just confirm that this works faster than I assumed. I used it to restore a gas tank on my 1995 bmw 318i that was loaded with rust. I assumed I would need to leave it over night but in a couple hours I took it out to check it and the job was completely done. Also, there was a delivery issue and the owner of this business gets 5 🌟 as well. Responds the same day within the same hour. This product and company is worth your try. They did not disappoint...not in one area.

Works okay, not as good as evapo-rust but for the price it was worth it

Easy to use!
Rust911 is so awesome a rust remover, that I have a hard time keeping it available. The whole family uses it! You can make so much which makes it better than other competitors! It lasts forever, and makes taking rust off items easily! Easy to use: mix it with tap water and then add some in an old pickle jar or mason jar, and then just drop pieces in overnight! Rinse and rust free!

Resolved my varnished up gas tank
Showing my gas tank when I dumped in Rust 911. I actually had 11 year old horrible buildup in my tank that required “step zero”. First I started with nails/screws/gravel/lacquer thinner and shook it around a bunch to initially break up the worst of it and dump that out. Then I added this Rust 911, filled it to the top with tap water and let it sit for 10 hours. The remaining residue is loose and comes off easily by hand, but the tank is plenty serviceable for reinstall. I’m a real customer doing this stuff in the back yard and I’m pretty excited I was able to salvage the tank for my 1992 Eagle Talon.

Works on rust removal as described
Removes rust as described. It WILL remove "Light Surface Rust" in 30-60 minutes, but most of the rust I'm battling takes longer. On heavy issues, I've left for quite some time, including an occasional brushing and rinsing. While removal of rust will mean some material is being removed, I have not found that the product damages the remaining surface. It doesn't even remove the paint unless there was rust between the metal and the paint already. I'm not seeing it remove 'magic marker' as a general rule. It finally gives up its rust removal qualities with time, but you can use it for multiple soakings on multiple parts. It says it can be poured down drain and it doesn't burn skin (albeit I still rinse skin if contact). If you need multiple gallons of the solution, this format is the product to use as you're not paying for the water and extra packaging/shipping. Also note that you just use the amount stated as 'adding extra' does not increase effectiveness. Just wish i had huge container to dip extra large parts. Highly recommend. Will re-order.

Impressive and simple de-rusting
I was looking for a way to remove rust from a '71 Corvette suspension parts. I don't have a blast cabinet, and have a limited tolerance for noxious fumes. Rust911 proved to be a very easy way to achieve acid-dipped performance fairly quickly and without harsh chemicals. Per the instructions I scraped of the 50-year crust of grease-soaked dirt, then washed the parts in detergent to remove any remaining grease. I filled a plastic container with as many of the parts as would fit, added five gallons of water to cover everything, and poured in five cups of Rust911. After an overnight soaking I sprayed each part with a hose nozzle to remove the clinging solution, and all the rust came right off. There were some remnants of paint on the parts when put I put them in, and some of that remained after rinse. A quick scrub with a wire brush remove the paint residue. The product exceeded my expectations. I have filled the same container three more times with additional parts. The solution turns increasingly blacker as iron oxide is removed from the parts, but still seems to be just as effective. The instructions says mixed solution can be saved in plastic containers and reused until its fully saturated with rust. Highly recommended!
