Well... it cracked
EDIT 12-13-16: For the last month and some change I have been trying to (unsuccessfully) patch a hairline crack that developed on the bottom of the jug. It just won't work, folks, so chuck it if it gets a crack (and this is a big blow to the beanbag because I like fixing things). Hate to say it, but the lack of flexibility in the plastic material caused a crack when air pressure changed inside the bottle simply from drinking. Imagine crinkling a soda can and how it splits slightly at the crease. Yeah... that. Changing my review accordingly: a jug that isn't water-tight is a glorified sprinkler drip system. Sorry Bluewave, ya lost me. Original review: I live in the desert, and am a craftsman by trade, so a large amount of water at all times is a necessity. I've been using jugs for years now and occasionally retire and replace them when I feel the plastic or some other feature is degrading. Like I said, my life is desert living and tool working, so things don't last long despite one's best efforts. Anyways, this jug is great and lives up to its required functions. The BPA Free labeling is nice, not really sure what it's all about but I figure the more you take out of a plastic material that comes into contact with stuff you digest, the better. No three-eyed kids with glow in the dark skin down the genetic line, I suppose. I should note that it had a really funky industrial smell to it when I first unscrewed the lid. I have ZERO idea what it was and didn't like that surprise, but after filling it with warm water and shaking the bejezzus out of it like three or four times the smell vanished. Maybe it was some factory mold-release residue or something. I accidentally bought the purple-ish one and only realized it after it had shipped, so I was kind of bummed. But since no one else is ever going to have a purple jug I feel like that mistake will mean no one at work will accidentally confuse mine for theirs. In terms of physical features, the handle is nice and works well with my long fingers and wide palm. There's an alternating bumpy and smooth surface, not sure what the advantage is but I suppose if you grab it mid-body instead of at the handle you'll... have a good grip? The middle ribbing helps with that, too. The main threaded cap both comes off as well as stays secure when needed, no accidents there. The push-nozzle works pretty well, and holds the liquid at bay even if you don't completely seal it. If you do pound it shut and completely seal it, you're 100% good. There's even a little bit of force required to get it open when fully sealed, so if you're super weak... use your teeth, I guess. The nozzle doesn't have a "locked" up position, so sometimes the nozzle can push back slightly and reduce water flow when drinking. My previous jug had the up lock, so I miss that feature. There's also a little clear plastic cap that I never use. It doesn't click in very well at all and I'd just end up losing it and wasting 12 seconds of my life looking for it before giving up. In my opinion, if you have a clicky cap that secures onto a nozzled container, you better be able to lift the entire container up by the clicky cap without it coming off. Otherwise, just don't even bother, it's basically a glorified dust guard at that point. Anyways, buy it, you'll like it.

My favorite bottle ever !
Everyone who knows me knows that water and I are not the best of friends ! However, this all changed once I purchased my first Bluewave Water Jug ! I LOVE IT ! I love the color options, the top of the bottle and the amount that it holds. I also appreciate how light it is and easy to drink from considering its capacity. However, not everything is perfect and if I could change somethings about it it would have to be how water falls sometimes from the top when it is in a bag so I always have to hold the bottle in my hand. Also, it is pretty fragile so please be careful not to drop it ! Yet, for the price and the ultra speedy delivery (I received it overseas within 4 days with the free shipping option) it is very very worth it... Thank you :)

OK with manufacturing problems
After reading the reviews, I was reluctant to order the Bluewave Water Jug. However, my son really likes the handle (jug) and there are few from which to choose -- even from Amazon. The jug is obviously molded in two pieces and joined. This causes problems around the screw on area (can be shaved off, per other review) -- and is liable to leaks (though mine does not seem to have any). I also had problems with the top -- I had to use pliers on it to open it and it does not open and close easily. Less excuse for this than the other. The basic design (having a handle) causes manufacturing problems -- cannot be lathed and limits the molding processes. The jug seems to be alright -- no leaks. Will need to use for a while to determine whether the top allows sufficiently easy drinking to make it useful. The jug is labeled "BPA Free" on the bottom. However, looking through Web articles, it does say that Plastic number 7 is "miscellaneous" which means it can be made any way they want. I believe them that it is BPA Free (too easy to test and enter the courts) but, as other articles have said, "who knows what they might have in the plastic?" My personal viewpoint is that if it imparts no taste and emits no odor it must be reasonably stable (non-leaching). Still, I would suggest (and will use it for such myself) only using it for cold water (no acidic or hot drinks) to minimize the possibility of any problems. If you (for whatever reason) really want a jug (bottle with handle) then this is probably the best you can get. If you don't want/"need" a handle, get something else.

Leaky lid (replacement is perfect)
Going to try and get a replacement because the lid leaks really bad. I really like it and it's a great size but I hate that it leaks I'm so tired of leaky water bottles Update: got the new one and it doesn't leak also arrived really quickly still 4 stars though for the initial defective bottle Still have it amd still love it aside from how loud it is I kinda wish it had a different kind of lid. I'm thinking about getting a second one because I drink so much water. (2021)

Wow, bad bottle
Clearly this maker is suffering from inconsistent manufacturing. Let me start by saying that I'm a BIG man, I bend metal with my hands for a living, I'm no lilting flower. So when I say that I could only get the sip cap open with pliers, you should understand my full meaning. A tale of two bottles: bottle 1: this bluewave water jug bottle 2: a cheapy no-name at Rite Aid. Materials: the Rite aid bottle is make of PET, or the same as most single-use bottles. Can be easily recycled. The BlueWave bottle is made of type 7 plastic: ie not registered and only recyclable by grinding into "plastic lumber" Both claim to be BPA free, But I think I trust the type 1 plastic a lot more. Sip caps: Both have the standard pull up sip cap. the Rite aid cap can be opened with my front teeth, or with two fingers. However it takes a little force to close properly. the blue wave would not open with front teeth, back teeth, two hands or any other method that someone driving a car would have at the ready. I eventually got the Bluewave bottle open with pliers. I can no open it with back teeth and a LOT of force. Also requires some force to close properly. Caps seem to made of the same material Flexibility: the Rite Aid PET containers have a nice flex that allow you to suck great sips out of the bottle, though it will only deliver a dribble via gravity. I put some hot water in the Bluewave bottle to force through the cap in hopes it would get "lubricated" and open more easily. I had to flex the bottle to do this. I has wrinkled at one point. I can see how this would readily start to crack and give up the ghost early. If you don't intend to use the sip cap, and just want a sealable jug of this size, ten this jug will be fine. If you're looking for a big sports bottle, then I would suggest going elsewhere.

Perfect for Work!
I ordered this for work because I hate having to leave my desk all of the time to refill my smaller water bottle. Since I drink a lot of water during the day I thought this would be good. It is perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I fill it once in the morning and it lasts me until my lunch break and I fill it again before returning to my desk and it lasts me until I leave work. Other reviews have said not to freeze the bottle with water because it will crack. I do not intend on doing this. The hole in the top is big enough to fit smaller ice cubes and I will put some in it to keep the water cool. I also keep it in the frige over night to cool the water down for the next morning. I am very glad I bought this and would suggest it to anyone in the market for this type of product.

Bought this months ago & still going strong
I bought a few of other brands of these but IMO this one is by far the best. No exaggeration, I use this each & every day, all day. I even bring it to the gym & I go to the gym at least 5x's per week. I brought it on vacation with me & it still is lasting & not leaking. I bought this months ago so this review has to be one that can help others that are looking for a jug. Only one thing i would like to see this company do.... Provide extra drinking sprouts. NO, mine is not leaking, but cuz i use it so often at the gym & don't want to use my hands to open & close it for obvious reasons (Gyms are nasty), I use my teeth to pull it open & to close so it is getting some wear. Also would be nice to have an extra when you want to clean one you have the other.

bluewave review
Very happy with the water jug everything as promised. Was not pleased with the extra shipping charge i had to pay at the post office. The post office said that the shipper paid for 3oz when infact it was 5oz and i had to pay an extra .51 cents to pick it up from them. After the shipper saw my post they contacted me and said they were sorry and credited me $3.00. Very happy with the way they conducted themselves and would not hesitate to buy from them again. I dont see myself needing to replace this water bottle for along time due to it being very well constucted but maybe adding to my collection.. would recommend to anybody in need of one. I use mine on job sites and it holds up to the abuse.

Great and big bottle
Great and big bottle. Very solid. People were complaining about the cap but instead of taking it off I just unscrew the main cap and it's fine, no leaking.

Great product just what i needed
I really liked this bottle purely for its size which was its most beneficial selling point, beyond i didn't like the nozzle to much was tight and tough a more open top would have been better for me, however the other area of concern is the way you might squeeze the bottle although this was my error, if you squeeze it at the centre creese you risk it breaking as mine did so now theirs been a constant leek so be wary of these issues. Great product just what i needed. The Bottle is well made and not likely to break anytime soon, i would have given 5 stars if a filter/mixer was inside the bottle to help break down powders easier. Would recommend.

Bottiglia
Ricomprata !!!
