You can stop looking - This is the one!
This ice maker has been doing great so far. This is the quietest nugget ice maker I have used. Note that I strickly use bottled drinking water with TDS < 10 ppm. My filtered tap water was still over 500 and caused other machines to grind loudly. If your nugget ice maker grinds loudly, try bottled water. I didn’t think I would like the less insulated ice basket but it’s large water tank and ice bin more than over compensate for any melting ice. The associated app is easy to use and setup scheduled ice making. I like that I can just schedule it to just turn off without having a full on/off schedule. This is great if someone turns it on manually and forgets to turn it off. Connecting the app to Alexa was a little more difficult but if you know what you’re doing it’s not so bad. It just took me longer than it should have. I haven’t had it long enough to tell you about the cleaning process. But the main tank is removable making the rest of the unit lighter for transport to the sink for internal draining. The shallow tray under the tank will have water in it. Maybe there is a way to place and remove the tank more quickly to minimize leaking. If water is in the tray, it makes moving the ice maker more difficult without spilling. I end up using some paper towels to remove some of it if the tray water level is too high. The tray and ice maker have separate drain plugs. Both drain plugs are still on the bottom with this design. I would prefer them on the back with the ability to connect drain hoses with shut off valves. Although Silonn claims great customer service, I have not had any experience with them to confirm. I just hope I have a better experience with Silonn. The previous non-Silonn brand mysteriously stopped working after less than a year and that other brand wouldn’t help me because I bought from Amazon and not directly from the manufacturer. Therefore, I switched to Silonn hoping for a better experience. Time will tell. Overall this ice maker is a good value, runs quiet, has high volume and fast production, connects to your smart home for voice or app control. You can stop looking - This is the one!

Highly recommend!!
This ice maker is AWESOME! Had another one previously, and it was loud, clunky, and didn't hold the ice for very long. This one is quiet, keeps ice well, is easy to refill, clean, and makes ice very quickly as well as takes up less space on the counter. A little more expensive, but well worth the money.

really impressive for the price, really impressive in general
I was really worried to pull the trigger on a nugget ice maker after reading across so many reviews of so many models that people tended to experience breakdown in 6 months to 2 years regardless of the price point. I landed on this one based on how many reviews were from longtime owners reporting the durability even after significant use. Only time will tell, but I am somehow more hopeful than if I had bought a $500+ unit that also required frequent filter changes etc. This thing is already awesome. Cleaning was super simple, the form factor is great for my apartment, the removable water tank and ice basket makes it super easy to empty and refill, and the texture of the ice is perfect. It’s not whisper quiet but the sound it makes is more the wind of the fan than a mechanical hum. I am easily annoyed by that kind of thing and I had no issue. The surprise star of the show was the app. Mine came with no manual in the box so I did have to do some digging to find it (it’s called SmartBQ) but it lets me fully control it, pair it to voice enabled assistants like Siri and Alexa with just a few taps, and set up scheduled so I wake up to fresh ice for my lattes. It also loads the full manual with cleaning and startup instructions.

Great little ice maker but….
This ice maker makes the perfect crunchy little pellet ice and was just what I was looking for. The price point was a little high imo but reasonable compared to some others I’ve seen. It makes plenty of ice to keep up with mine and my daughter’s ice addiction! 😊 I’ve only had it a few weeks and so far haven’t had any issues but I will say this thing runs constantly so I worry I won’t get a very long life span out of it. It isn’t overly loud but loud enough since I work from home and my office is in an open floor plan where the ice maker is easily heard all day. Not a big deal but worth mentioning if you prefer silence while working. I make sure to use filtered or distilled water and so far haven’t had any issues with buildup or lime scale and we have a lot of that in our area water. All in all I think it is a great middle of the road option if you love pellet ice and want one in your home. It is fairly compact and doesn’t take up too much space.

Money well spent!
I love this ice maker! Ive never owned an ice maker so I have nothing to compare it to, but I am beyond happy with my purchase. I got home late this evening from work and it was on the porch in the upright position. I did not see that its supposed to be upright for 24 hours before plugging it in until after I had it plugged in and making ice. Im hoping that didnt harm it, but its been making ice for a couple of hours and everything seems fine. It's started off kind of slow, a piece of ice here, a piece of ice there... but once it got going it really pumped out the ice. I used the scoop to move the ice around in the basket a couple of times because it will get backed up before the basket is full. It stops with a green light to let you know the basket is full. I pushed some ice around and it started producing more almost immediately. I saw a few reviews that complained about the noise, but im not finding it any louder than a fridge or deep freezer. I took a video but not sure how accurate the noise level is with my phones microphone. Its really not worth waisting anymore time talking about it other than to say dont sleep with it and you should be fine. I got this because Im a fan of ice water and energy drinks poured over ice (There's a 4th of July Monster that is so good over ice!). I also like to chew a bit of ice with each sip. This thing makes the perfect ice for it. Its like Taco Bell or Sonic... even the ice they use for patients in hospitals.. its perfect ice. Pros: Its an ice maker that makes perfect chewable ice and it doesn't break the bank to buy one. Cons: Really, the only con I can think of after a couple hours of use is its not a freezer. So the ice it makes has to be used or tossed, otherwise the ice will melt, drain into the reservoir and be remade. I imagine this would put a lot of strain on the ice maker and burn it out before its time. Plus, the ice would start tasting funky. I highly recommend to anyone that likes ice and likes to chew it.

Total disappointment, more like pebble ice than nugget ice, flimsy plastic, poor design
I have to be completely honest and I admit that this is a harsh review. . . I am not impressed. For context, please let me explain my use case and where I feel this ice maker fails: To increase their longevity, save wear and tear on the compressor and water pump, and also to discourage mold growth and mildew, I prefer not to run countertop ice makers continuously. For fire safety, I also prefer not to leave them running unattended. Instead, for the reasons mentioned, I run them for only one day twice per month (every two weeks) followed by sanitizing and then I let them air dry until the next use. I run multiple nugget ice makers at the same time and then bag the ice from each full basket and put the bag in the freezer. I take it out later and tap the bag gently on both sides several times with a small flat mallet to loosen the ice nuggets and keep them separated. I then collect all of the frozen ice nuggets into commercial ice bags and make several bags of nugget ice just like what you would buy in the store. Because I have several nugget ice makers, I can get it all (2 weeks worth) done in one day. The ice from this Silonn nugget ice maker (model SLIM43B-US) is crumbly, ill-formed, and only partially frozen. It has a softer consistency and there is a significant amount of what I call debris -- broken bits, slush, and irregular shaped pebbles. This type of ice does not lend itself to bagging and storing as it is so wet that it melts together and forms big lumps (rocks) in the freezer and loses its nugget shape, what little there is of it. This makes it nearly impossible to store for later (collect, bag and then freeze). I also noticed that the ice melts rapidly when a beverage is poured over it, instantly watering down the drink. The design of this ice maker sacrifices the quality of the ice in favor of the production speed. It rapidly and continually spits out soft, wet bits of ice. This completely defeats the purpose of buying a “nugget” ice maker. Other, cheaper nugget ice makers sold here on Amazon make better ice -- consistently well-formed, evenly shaped, firmly frozen nugget ice without debris (bits and pebbles) in the mix. This ice maker might work fine for someone who just wants to have ice ready on the counter and plans to scoop it right into the glass and then pour a beverage over it. Personally, however, I am disappointed in the performance for the price. You might be too. Other notes: The entire machine is made of cheap flimsy plastic and will eventually crack from age and stress. I don’t think it is built for longevity. One accidental drop on the floor of the ice basket or the water tank and it will likely be cracked or chipped. Due to the cheap all plastic housing, the ice is not kept insulated like other ice makers. This means that water condenses on the outside of the water tank and is constantly dripping down the sides when in use. This ice maker automatically runs a defrost clean cycle after 4.5 hours of continual use. This means it flushes tank water through all of the metal parts that freeze the water to make ice -- the auger and the extruder holes that form and release the ice nuggets. The warm water flushing through the machine brings the temperature down of all of the cold mechanical freezing parts. Water also pours down the ice basket like a waterfall. This effectively interrupts the ice making cycle and the mechanical parts have to reach a chilled state all over again. This interrupts the ice making process for about another hour while the machine recovers and begins starts making ice well again. Until it fully recovers, it rapidly spits out wet malformed bits all over the ice in the ice basket. This is a hindrance not a feature. For context, other nugget ice makers only run an automatic cleaning/defrosting cycle when a freeze up is detected -- the auger struggles to turn, the thermostat detects the temp has dropped too low, or the ice extruder holes freeze up and the ice is stuck. It will then flush the machine to defrost before restarting the ice making process. The fan is on the side of the ice maker right next to the water tank and ice basket rather than on the back like every other ice maker I have ever owned. This hot air blows right next to the water and ice basket. This is a poor design choice IMO. The ice is not kept insulated like other ice makers. This means that water condenses on the outside of the machine. Water is constantly dripping down the sides of the water tank when in use. As far as aesthetics, if not using the timer functions, there is always a big pointless double zero “OO” on the display. There is nothing sleek about this ice maker. It looks and feels cheap. There are much better ice makers here on Amazon that sell for much less. Do yourself a favor and invest in one of those instead.

Cute, quick & worth it!
I LOVE this little ice maker!! 🧊😂 It’s super easy to use, doesn’t take up a ton of counter space, and makes ice way faster than I expected. Perfect when you’re constantly running out of ice or just don’t want to keep buying bags. Plus the color is so cute! Definitely one of those purchases I didn’t realize I needed until I had it. Also easy to move around! 😂🙌🏼

A Smart Ice Maker with Some Dumb Design Decisions
Before you decide to buy, stop and filter for reviews matching the style of ice maker you're looking at. I'm reviewing at a medium-sized, smart (dumb AF) nugget ice maker. If you're looking at the small, "bullet" ice makers, you should filter. This is fairly straightforward: I wanted a nugget ice maker I could turn on with my voice. No problem at all, of course it exists, right? Hmm... not really. Not for less than $5-600 (GE Opal Smart 2.0 or Ultra). Nugget ice makers? They start at 150. Smart ice makers start at 80 bucks. Combine the two and... not a whole lot of options. This is one of the few. I took the plunge on a no-name brand with solid reviews. The first one that came to my house was a disaster: the screen backlight was offset and would only illuminate half of the "WiFi" and circular button and none of the touch buttons worked. The app worked, but kept switching from icemaking to off to cleaning modes. My suspicion was that it wasn't installed correctly and the touch sensing was touching metal inside the machine, causing it to act erratically. No problem, just return for a replacement. The replacement, so far is fine. I've had it for a month and these are my thoughts. Note that I'm comparing this to Govee Smart ice makers and Frigidaire (not Frigidaire, they just put their name on them.) ice makers. The app: 6/10. It does work. It turns the machine on and starts making ice. It is *not* the Silonn app that one would expect to use, which points to the "BQSmart" app that this *actually* uses. It's a bit inconsistent with the connection and status, often showing "offline" when it's clearly making ice before it refreshes a few seconds later and corrects itself. The voice integration: (I use Alexa): 0/10. The machine is either in "standby" or "on". You can use Alexa to move it between the two to turn it off................................ but you can't start making ice with Alexa. Even if you load the Alexa app, the options are "on" or "off". There is no obvious difference between the two other than the buttons on the device light up in "on" mode and the circle changes color in "off" mode. There is no reason why you'd want to do this with your voice. Let me repeat myself: You cannot *make ice* using a *smart speaker* on this "smart" ice maker. You have to use the buttons or the app. BAFFLING. By contrast, my Govee ice makers start making ice when you say "Alexa, turn on smart ice maker". That one command takes them from "off" to "making ice", not "off" to "off but lights are illuminated, for some reason." If I'm on my way home from work, I can ask Alexa to turn one or both on, and come home to ice... kind of bad-quality bullet ice, but ice nonetheless. Other than that, it's fine. The design of the ice basket is pretty poor. It can only be filled to ~70% before the sensor says it's "full" because there's a big pile directly below the dispenser. The dispenser also often gets clogged with ice, causing the machine to stop until it's cleared manually or melts of its own accord. It's not a huge deal, but it's certainly a place to improve it. It's also *super* whiney. It's fine for a while then wwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeirrrrrr then it calms down. It's definitely not a quiet machine in general, far outpacing my beverage fridge and full-size LG fridge. (Yes, I let it sit for 24 hours to allow the lubricant and refrigerant to settle before turning it on.) Finally, the cheap ice shovel doesn't come with any kind of magnet or storage location. I guess you just set it on top? Govee / some "Frigidaire" models come with a small magnet in the shovel and the machine to just stick it on the side so it doesn't get lost. For Pros, it does dispense ice quietly. The ice is nice and crunchy without being too hard. It can produce and hold a decent amount of water/ice, meaning fewer trips to fill up and get ice. (3 liters of water and maybe 5 full baskets of ice before a refill. It's also not too heavy. Most people can easily unbox, set up, and use this machine. I could easily move it out to my patio for a party or something without too many separate pieces or having to drain or disconnect from a tank, etc. Overall... good, I guess? The smart functions barely pass for me and it mars an otherwise good to great product.

Extremely dissapoited.
I deliberately bought expensive ice maker to assure I get quality. It arrived, I opened it. Not working! No ice but water. From second it was on. Too expensive for such a disappointment. Please replace.
