It works, but it’sa bit of a hassle. *UPDATED 5/20/25 *
My Leatherman Arc & my Surge both showed up at my door, almost impossible to open with my fingers, just tightened down way too much, I actually used my Victorinox to get the tools opened. After using some mineral oil, applied with a swab, I was able to get the tools opened, but it was still incredibly hard to do so.So I got online and ordered this set of tools to adjust the 2 leatherman tools. They are difficult to work and they slip quickly off the parts that they are designed to hold on to. Once the ring is secured with the tool, you must twist it loose or tight from the flip side of the tool with the miniature wrenches provided. And they slip off, over and over again, very frustrating. No instructions provided but it’s likely easy enough to figure out for most people. That said after about an hour of fighting with these “tools”, the multi tools were mostly loosened up, but now too loose.I tried to adjust them again, ever so slightly so that they didn’t flop open so easily, and boom, now too tight again.I’m sending my customized Arc and my Surge back to Leatherman and I’ll let them adjust them and send them back to me.My Wave+ was never like these tools. Bottom line is, you can get these tools to make the adjustments you need, but it’s a bit frustrating and time consuming, and Leatherman is just going to make the correct adjustments for me anyway.I’d check into the option of Leatherman making the adjustments for you rather than buying these. For me it was free to send to Leatherman for adjustments.***Update:After reaching out to leatherman several times via email (that was the only way I was able to reach them), 6 months have gone by and no response. Also, 7 months ago, I purchased a brand new surge for my son’s Christmas present (his 1st Leatherman), and paid the extra to have 2 custom engravings on it.The tool just in time for Christmas and once again, came almost impossible to open and was also missing one of the engravings that was paid for. After reaching out immediately to customer service, again via email, it was 3 months before they ever replied back to me.They didn’t offer to fix it and add the missing engraving back on to what I thought would be a special gift that would last my son the next 30 years, instead they said send us photos of all blades and sides AB’s after we review the photos, we’ll refund the cost of the one engraving or add a credit your account…. Seriously? I’m a top tier member with Leatherman and cannot express how deeply dissatisfied I am with my last 3 purchases, spending around $500 for the 3 tools. They lost my business for life, extremely disappointing for a company of their size, they could care less about customer service. I’m done with Leatherman, wish I could change my 3 star rating to a 1 star rating…

Gotta have it if you don't want to mess up your fasteners
It's decent quality, it's basically a one-piece design on all of the tools. It is a very specific wrench, so it only has one use basically. The torx bits can be reused for other things because lots of things have torx fasteners. The only reason I dropped a star, is because the fitment isn't quite perfect. I had to finagle it around the small round fastener but I was able to make it work. Also, if it's your first time taking your Leatherman apart, make sure that you use a soldering iron on the fasteners. They are locked with red loctite, which is much different than the blue kind.. it's impossible to get it off without heating up the fastener, all you have to do is let your soldering iron get up to temperature and then rest it on the screw for a few minutes, then, it should release itself from the loctite, I always do both sides. Overall, it will work and it's definitely better than messing up your fasteners with a pair of pliers, so please do not try this. It's worth it to have this if you are working on leatherman's or modding them. The small size fits the Leatherman crunch and the bigger size fits the surge as well as all the older models with the 40 (?) point round fasteners. (I'm not quite sure if it's a 40 point but it's pretty close) it functions as it should and is a great value if you don't want to mess up your vintage leathermans.

Everything you need to help disassemb newer Leatherman's
The perfect set to get when modifying any leatherman's. I took the large bit holder from my wave and swapped it over to my rebar.
