Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem. Special Features Review: The juice is back - On the day when I saw the original Beetlejuice, one of my nieces was born. She turned thirty six last month. Not so much a case of how time flies, but goodness me how long it's been. Yet here's a sequel. To the film that got me hooked on Tim Burton's movies. It was the imagination. Visual and otherwise. It had me. I've never looked back. Right from the off, you realise they don't make them like this anymore. For starters, it has full opening credits. Listing so many people. Like movies used to do. I cannot recall the last new film I saw which did that. I could be forgetting something. But then again... This doesn't have exposition or flashbacks to refresh your memory or get new viewers into the characters. Some detail is given as it goes along. But familiarity with the first film will be needed to get the most from this. A film which is the most Tim Burton film since I would say Edward Scissorhands. Years later, and Lydia is now a tv star doing shows about haunted houses. She's in a relationship with her manager. Her daughter Astrid is estranged from her mother. And at boarding school. Something happens - a rather inventive way of the film dealing with a potential issue. Makes sense when you see it - which brings the family back together and at the old house. Meantime, a certain trickster Demon gets wind of this. Schemes go into motion... Can't say too much about the plot of this without spoilers. Can say that the main cast members are great. In particular Jenna Ortega as Astrid. Once again playing a smart rebellious individual schoolgirl. But the character she does here is so different from Wednesday she really impresses as an actress. Michael Keaton is also amazing. The film could just be him doing stuff in character. But it uses him just the right way. You have to wonder at times where the script stops and the improv begins. Because he really really gets into this character. So much. So well. Another way it does things how movies used to. Practical effects. Models. Makeup. There's one or two blink and you'll miss them bits of greenscreen. Yet the rest is all old fashioned techniques. The attention to detail in these is incredible. It does have a lot going on. So you do wonder at times where the plot is going. Come the halfway point though it clicks. It's quite a ride after that. A couple of plot strands don't perhaps don't develop as much as they could have. But in a way I liked that they wrong footed me. This second half also really cranks up the imagination and the visuals. It develops the world of the story so much. Serious spoilers as to how but one little idea is so good I loved it. It does pace it's ending just right also. It isn't one of those films that doesn't know where to finish. This won't be for everyone. It will depend on how you rate the director. But it's got imagination and amazing visuals and it's a fun ride. So I had a really good time with it. Great stuff. Nothing extra during or after the end credits. The dvd goes into the main menu with no ads or trailers. There's no extras at all. Language and subtitle options: Languages: English, Castilian Spanish, Italian. English audio description. Subtitles: English, Castilian Spanish, Danish, Finnish, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish. Review: More Beetlejuice! - Everything has been thrown into this: several stories, massive comedy madness and invention. If you ever saw a Tim Burton and especially the first film, Beetlejuice, you'll get the idea – but MORE! If this is what happens after death, expect no everlasting peace, or... dullness! The last crazy scene is worth the price of the DVD alone. Fabulous. Ridiculous. Amazing!

Movie was fantastic but disappointed by the lack of blu ray
First and foremost, I want to say that I thought the movie was brilliant! One of my favourite films of last year! I have little doubt that fans of the original will love this one too. Based on the film alone, I'd give this 5 stars. My main issue with this release is the fact there's no blu ray included. To be fair, it is stated on the box and in the description, so there's nothing deceptive going on. I just think it's a sad trend that's developing where all that £25 will get you is a single 4K disc. Now, the quality on 4K is impeccable. However, I've always appreciated the inclusion of a normal blu ray along with the 4K as it allows my to play the film on my other TV or lend it to a friend. £25 for the 4K and the blu ray seemed reasonable - £25 for just the 4K alone seems a bit steep. However, it's a great film and there's various extras included in the form of director's commentary and making of featurettes - so that certain adds some extra value. Would recommend.

A good old ghostly romp
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice ... go on I dare ya! I'm not going to compare this to the original movie except to say both have their virtues so to say. I found this movie very enjoyable, fun and funny. There are, like most movies, some slower moments and some faster. Overall thought there is a good pace to proceedings. The movie can be watched and enjoyed 'stand alone' it really is best to watch the first one before this one though. For me and taking in modern sensibilities this is a very good movie and worth a wath and re-watch.

Eh, take it or leave it. You won't miss anything but it's worth a watch if you are bored.
Eh, it's not as good as the original and even though there are some good bits in it the original was better. This was kind of a Cash-Grab B movie that relies on nostalgia more than being good to sell. It felt kind of like a adult-kids movie rather than a true successor to the original film, the cast is good but the story.... meh. And it's also a shame that the Mayson's where not in it either, making it feel incomplete.

Coffret collector Beetlejuice beetlejuice
