Renogy Flexible Solar Panel 100 Watt, 240° Ultra Flex Bendable

I've been using two of the Renogy 100 watt flexible solar panels for about 3 years with our van. I mounted them to 1/8" plywood and deploy them whenever we're camped. They've worked great, and I've seen as high as 175 watt output in right conditions. I have a 25 foot cable, and like being able to park in the shade and put the panels in the sun as opposed to having them on the van roof. These are very durable and should last for many years.

Update May 2025: I reached out to Renogy and they have shipped me a replacement panel, no hassle. This is in line with what I have experienced from Renogy in the past: solid customer service and decent product. - - - - Would be two stars because this was listed at a low price since it was a seller return. I should have known better than to buy a customer return. I just got around to looking closer at it today (when I'm outside the return window) and 12 of the 36 cells are delaminating, or at least full of bubbles. I have been a Renogy customer for years and have several of their more-expensive products like a 48V 3500W Solar Inverter Charger, and have been generally happy. But now I am profoundly disappointed that Amazon passed on this defect to a customer on Renogy's behalf.

I'm running 4 200w alongside 6 100w panels. Efficiency is almost 10% lower compared to hard panels however it fills the niche on the RV roof. An RV roof is the main issue. Your never fully in the sun, never fully directed, and the AC's can add shade issues. Although it's a poor panel from an efficiency standpoint, I am still giving them 4 starts because it's better then the alternatives for this application (CIGS is probably better but it's still cost prohibitive). Renogy customer service is pretty good also - They replaced 2 panels after 4 months - one for an output issue and the other for a broken connector. Most reviews say that these are too fragile but I have to disagree. If you bend it too far then I'm sure it would break but I have had no issues. They bend all over during the install and I also re-positioned them twice now without any trouble. Just be reasonable - flexible does not mean foldable.

I had previously used the old flexible panel design that Renogy produced for the past couple years with bad luck, a few of them failed, but upon opening this package it was clear to see the difference in the quality of the build of the panels themselves which is probably why they are now offering a better warranty. They definitely are more robust, super flexible, installed easily onto the roof of a van with 3M tape and they put out great power, even in lower lights. Renogy is one of the bigger names in solar, and with all the other companies that do solar and are come and go on Amazon, it is definitely worth putting up a couple extra dollars up front to have a company that will still be around and actually respond or honor a warranty if you have issues with their product.

I purchased two Renogy 100 watt Flexible panels to charge a Goal Zero Yeti 1000 solar generator. We live in Florida and experienced a glancing blow from Hurricane Irma last year that left us without power for a few days. Although my neighbors had gas generators, keeping them filled with gasoline was the big challenge. I have been running tests with my Renogy panels and Goal Zero generator that I use to power a mini freezer. So far it appears that we will be able to run the freezer by charging during the day and running the generator at night. We are hoping to be able to make ice for our coolers as well as some for various neighbors who don't have generators. ( Getting ice was the another challenge last year.) Of course the biggest mystery is, if we really get slammed with a direct hit will any of this matter anyways! (I'll get back to you if that happens, if I can!) But I really like the Renogy flexible panels for my purpose. I like that they are lightweight, easy to move and haul in and out of the house. I made frames for them out of small PVC pipes so that I can adjust them with the sun's movement. (By the way, if you purchase Renogy panels and extension cables, which you will need - buy 2 cables for each panel. To solar experts, that's probably obvious, but to the rest of us, not so much. Fortunately, I read an Amazon review and knew to do this.) Prior to purchasing, I emailed Renogy with a few questions and they were very good and generous with their time, info and patience. (I think their website needs to be a little less slick and more informative - my only complaint for Renogy.) Renogy has a good reputation and I will say these panels seem well built and substantial. Unfortunately I have had a little glitch with the Goal Zero (which is being replaced) so I had to curtail my tests. I was able to get 140 watts from my two 100 watt panels. I realize that you never get 200 watts from 200 watt panels, so I figured we were doing okay. If I find I do any better when my Goal Zero is replaced, I will add to this review.

I mounted two of these to the top of my camper to help keep my two 6v lead acid batteries topped off for those weekends I might find myself without electric. I love these panels, in that they are light and the mounting profile is very slim. I mounted these on the roof of my trailer using t-track and the eyelets of the panels. They are only about 1/2 inch above the roof, to allow for some venting, and they are hardly even visible from the ground. Output is as expected, I will get about 90+watts when the sun is high in the summer sky. This is without optimal positioning and all. Next black friday if they are back down in price i can see myself purchasing two more of these if my summer camping shows me that I need a bit more charging while I extend my off grid camping.

Good quality panel with great output, even under sub optimal conditions. If the size and rating are what you need, I don’t think you’ll find a better option.

Ordered 3 panels for my Sprinter Camper, as per Renogy installation instructions glued then to the roof of my van. Output was low to start but I live in MN so wrote it off to less Sun. Went to California for 2 months, output has dropped even more, 3 panels in parallel in bright clear sunshine are producing less than 5 amps. Bought two cheap Harbor Freight panels, layed them on top of the Renogy panels, the cheap panels are over 10 amps with just two of them, exactly what they are rated at. Talked to tech support, rather I tried but everytime the tech was supposed to answer they hung up, called back 5 times same thing every time. I then went to email, after a couple day wait for a response they asked me to do some tests and send some pictures and video. I did as asked. Another couple day wait,, Then wanted followup video of the lights on the controller. Another wait and they sent a group of photos showing me how to do the same tests I had already done, with examples that weren't even the same panels I have. I got the distinct feeling I was being run around in the hope that I would just go away. I've been an electronics tech for 50 years, had my own shop for 45. I will never buy another Renogy product and advise everyone else not to as well. It's my own fault for ignoring the negative reviews, I hope all of you are wiser ! Update: Renogy has told me they would take the panels back, minus 10% plus I am responsible for shipping on thier defective product. I asked them how I am supposed to remove the panels THEY told me to glue on to my roof, according to Renogys installation instructions, without damaging the panels or my roof. They haven't responded yet.

Genuinely capable of yielding the advertised 100W. It's robust and flexible. Slightly larger than expected - but an excellent product, small enough to be used as a portable solar panel. Some solar panels offering 100W and above have an open circuit output voltage that's slightly too high for smaller power banks (power banks around 300 Wh or less), so they trip out the power bank. But this gives you 100W without tripping out your power bank. You can connect to any power bank that has a DC 5.5mm input - just use an MC4 to DC 5.5mm converter cable. No voltage regulator needed! You just need the panel, your power bank and the convertor cable and then you can easily set it up anywhere. You can leave this outside, it's fully waterproof. (Your power bank obviously needs to be in a watertight and sunproof container if it's outside). I've tested lots of panels - and this offers the best balance of quality, power, portability, strength, flexibility with a low enough open circuit output voltage to be compatible with small or large portable power banks. Highly recommended, buy with confidence.

Oft halten die flexiblen Module nicht so lange. Ich habe in 8 Jahren mit Renogy nun bereits die dritten Flexi Module auf dem Dach. Bei meinem Mobil sind feste Module keine Option. Diese Renogy Module haben ein Top Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Die Anschlüsse mit den MC4 Steckern sind robust ausgelegt, so dass ich denke dass sie eine Weile halten werden. Ich habe jetzt Mitte Februar Mittags mit 2x100 Watt Modulen 80 Watt Ertrag gehabt. Das ist wirklich sehr gut 👍. Die Verarbeitung war einfach, da sie einfach aufgeklebt werden. Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Die Lieferung war ordentlich und die Module waren gut verpackt.
