works fine but will take a long time to clean
It works, and i got very thin slices successfully. I made 2 lbs of deli meat and ran it through and basically it was fine. Also a block of cheese. Cleaning it is difficult, will take more time to clean than do your cutting. The bits of food get everywhere. There are some areas you literally cannot reach. I had to fold up a piece of paper to get into the crevices and push out the food as well as use a brush to brush it all off. You'd best clean it immediately after use. Even the cleanest cuts on the block of cheese, I still got bits falling into small cracks and crevices. This issue alone is almost worth returning it, like it's almost not worth it. But I'm going to keep it because I think overall it is fine. Honestly going to have to go to the dollar store and find a brush and store it with this thing, you're going to need it. If you do use it, i suggest always turning it off if for any reason you need to put your hands ANYWHERE that is not on the handle that pushes the food or the handle that adjusts the thickness. Turn it off first before putting you hands anywhere else. I brushed my hand on the blade once and realized I could have had an accident.

First slicer, works great
I have so far made roast beef and sliced it thin for deli meat and ham. Roast beef deli meat is around $14 per lb right now and I was able to make my own for right around $8. I figure after 10 lbs of making my own deli meat this slicer has paid for itself. Very easy to use, I have sliced ham deli meat thin and about 1/4โ thick for little ham steaks. Pretty easy to clean since the blade pops off without needing any tools. Good buy so far!

can only run for 5 minutes then needs 15 minute rest.
The most important thing to understand about this slicer is that you're not buying a professional-grade machine, so donโt expect pro-level performance. I bought it as a test run to see if I liked roasting my own meat and slicing it for sandwiches, and I chose this model because it was budget-friendly. For that purpose, it served its role. That said, I had realistic expectations, and even then, I ran into a few frustrations. I sliced about 6 pounds of medium-rare round roast, and it took 3 hours across two sessions (not including cleaning). The biggest issue? It can only run for 5 minutes at a time, and then you have to let it rest for 15 minutes. I likely missed that detail in the product listing, but itโs something buyers should be aware of, especially if you're planning to do any kind of batch prep. Another thing: while the slicer technically goes down to 0mm, it really struggles to produce ultra-thin slices, which is a letdown if, like me, you prefer paper-thin deli cuts. ON the thicker cuts, or when the depth measurement opened up a little from my pressure on the slicing plate, it cut really well. As for cleaning, itโs a pain. While the blade does come off (which helps), meat tends to get everywhereโunder the depth adjustment, into the blade gears, all over. Iโve had to use toothpicks to clean it out completely. If youโre just making 1 or 2 sandwiches, itโs hardly worth the time and mess. To me, it only makes sense to slice a full batch and deal with cleaning once (or twice, in my case). In the end, Iโm not disappointed because I went in knowing this was an entry-level machine. But I was let down by the runtime limits and the cleaning hassle. If I had to do it again, Iโd go for something a step up from thisโnot full commercial grade, but definitely beyond this model.

Don't buy this one. It does not slice....it grinds.
This comes with a serrated blade that is not suited for this small size. It does not SLICE meat, but rather it TEARS meat and grinds it up. I could not get reasonably thin slices. I was fine with the small size and I know these things are tough to clean,,,,my rating is based on the problem the blade creates just tearing and grinding instead of slicing. Near useless.

Great sturdy electric slicer
I ordered this to cut my sourdough bread. This grips the surface properly and doesnโt move while cutting. It was very easy to install and adjust the thickness of the slices. The design also makes it safe and it is easy to clean. I am happy with the product.
