This rear view mirror camera is designed to replace the factory rearview mirror with OEM bracket mounting, it displays both front and rear camera for recording or abserving while driving, the hardwire kit is included to connect mirror with fuse box, so the dashcam has continuous power for parking. Review: The best got better! - My Dash Cam journey began with 3 different Dash Cam mirror types from 3 different companies. I found that they were a big improvement over the front camera only types with both front and rear view cameras and large mirror displays that clipped onto to the front of the OEM mirror. Driving my 2022 Toyota Sienna van, I really appreciated the huge improvement of rear visibility from the rear view cameras on the large displays. Unfortunately the first company’s dash cam was completely useless at night and the second one had problems consistently recording my driving. Both of them had buggy software as well. I really liked the Mirror Dash Cam format so I took a chance and ordered another Mirror Dash Cam from a company called Pormido. As they say, ‘third time's the charm’! Everything about the Pormido Mirror Dash Cam was far superior to the first 2 other companies. The display images were sharper and much better at night time due to their HDR cameras. The software worked flawlessly and everything was perfect for over 2 years now. My brother really liked my Mirror Dash Cam setup so I decided to get him one for his birthday. As I went shopping for his Dash Cam I discovered that Pormido had upped their game and were now offering an even higher resolution model with the option to replace the OEM mirror and directly mount the display to the stock Toyota windshield bracket. Wow, less wiring, very clean looking install. I ordered it right away and after receiving it I carefully removed my existing Pormido Dash Cam. I installed the new improved model on Friday evening in about 90 minutes including carefully removing the older model. With less wiring to deal with, and GPS now built into the mirror display, this dash cam is very easy to install and works flawlessly like the first one. I do appreciate that the images are even sharper than before and I find that the already decent night visibility is even better than before with the new model. Another thing I really appreciate is that you can set the cameras to record at 50hz which eliminates the flashing car lights at night that most other Mirror Dash Cams have. Pormido has also made the software even easier to use and some features like adjusting the rear camera view distance can now be done right on the display without going through the menu. I spend a lot of time on the Toyota forums and Pormido seems to have a winning formula and many satisfied owners there including me. For Toyota owners who want to retrofit the Toyota OEM digital camera, the parts alone are almost $1000 and there’s a lot of labor involved at additional cost. The new Pormido display is superior to the Toyota OEM digital Display and far better at night time and includes a high quality Dash cam for far less money. For Mirror Dash Cams, Pormido had set the bar and this new model raises it even higher. Highly recommended!!! Review: So far the BEST Mirror Dash Cam in the market and easy quick install! - Since '21, I've relied on POMIDO's Triple Mirror Dash Cam 12" -Model D50 and wanted a similar setup for our new Sienna minivan. Just in time, POMIDO launched their new Mirror Dash Camera- Model PRD80, so I ordered it without hesitation, given my positive experience with the D50 over the years. Upon unboxing the newly released POMIDO PRD80, I found the packaging neatly organized, with all components and hardware intact. The PRD80 Mirror Dash Cam impressed me with its exceptional quality, integrated connection ports, GPS, and power sources, which made installation a breeze. I particularly appreciate the absence of exposed wires or connections in this setup. The PRD80 Mirror Dash Cam not only looks fantastic but also feels like an enhanced OEM setup. It boasts higher image/video quality, customizable settings, and additional features such as video and photo recording, parking monitoring, and more. The nighttime recording and video are pretty impressive, as I can clearly see what's behind and in front of my car. Overall, it's the best mirror dash cam on the market, providing a seamless OEM look and feel. Installation is straightforward thanks to the provided hardwired kit and user-friendly interface. I'm definitely getting another PRD80 for my wife's car—I love it, and she'll undoubtedly appreciate it too! Be sure to check out the photos and video for different views and night-time usage—it's truly impressive. Kudos to POMIDO for crafting such an awesome product. I'll update this post later once I've had more hands-on experience with the unit. By the way, POMIDO's customer service is exceptional—they respond promptly with helpful assistance.

Great mirror/cam with a clean OEM look!
I’d planned to hold off on posting my review until I had some time with this unit and also until the correct mount for my vehicle was in stock. Now that we’ve just returned from a 3k mile road trip, I thought I’d submit the review even though the mount still isn’t in. First off, I’ve had Pormido’s D50 triple camera system in my truck for 3 years and it’s been excellent. After we were rear ended in our Mercedes Sprinter RV hard enough to total it, I knew that a digital rear view mirror with cameras were a must for our replacement RV. When I saw that Pormido had released a mirror/cam with not only OEM style mounting, but both rear image zoom and a rear image invert feature, I knew it was the one. I bought it hoping that I’d be able to make a temporary adapter to allow its use on the factory Mercedes mirror mount and put it to use. This went as planned and it’s been in the RV now for a month. Installation and setup were simple enough since I was already familiar with the process. Using the camera is somewhat like what I’m used to from owning my D50, with no surprises or unexpected quirks. Performance is excellent though I do feel like the daytime image on the display might be just a tiny bit darker than my D50. Nighttime performance is the same, which is to say excellent. Reliability has been solid as I’ve come to expect from Pormido, but I did have an issue with the VHB tape coming off of the front camera. It didn’t release from the glass, but from where it was pre applied to the camera at the factory. This was an easy fix and I understand how things like this can happen. Though I ended up not needing to make use of the rear image flip feature I can see how it’d be a huge advantage for someone having to mount their rear camera differently. In fact, I wished for this option when I installed my D50. The zoom however, is something that I’ve really put to good use. It does cost you some viewing angle when you zoom, but it does allow for an image that’s more mirror like in terms of judging distances behind. With the huge side mirrors of the Sprinter, giving up some of the wide field of view is not an issue at all, it’s a benefit in my book. All in all, I’m extremely pleased with this mirror camera. Edited to add: I received the mounting bracket (#216) for our Sprinter and installed it. Those with 2019 and later Mercedes Sprinters will find that this high quality bracket fits perfectly and provides a solid mount for the mirror cam. I have included pictures of the Pormido bracket next to the Mercedes OEM, and of it mounted with all of the trim installed. If you are considering this mirror cam for your Sprinter or Sprinter based RV, there is absolutely reason to look further than this. I could not be happier with the performance, appearance and compatibility of the total package.

Easy Installation
Installing anything in a convertible is harder than normal simply because there isn’t a lot of room anywhere. To further my complication, I had to use my original mount to the headliner (Not the windshield) and the Balls were different diameters. Luckily Amazon had a seller with a 22mm ball https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7MZBPLS and I cut my ball off and bolted a new one on; everything worked out perfectly. Also, there kit includes a bracket the wire passes thru, but as you can see from the pictures, with a Dremel I was easily able to cut a hole next to the ball. A few key points. 1) The HD quality of the image is incredible even at night due to the low lux/light camera. 2) Everything is built into the Rearview, other brands have GPS and other electronics to hide. 3) The wiring harness uses these newer style “julet” connectors. It is like I “Micro DIN” cable, common on modern e-Bikes. These allow for an easy and clean install with no bulky old school RCA connectors. 4) The single wire that goes to the bumper camera also has the “pigtail” to attach to the Reverse light so it can display the gridlines. 5) It’s still a mirror, The LCD shines thru the mirror! For be being a convertible in daylight the LCD is washed out and it 100% functions as a mirror. When dusk starts to approach you can see both image and reflection, then of course it’s amazing when the sun goes down. Prior, When the Top is UP there was no good visibility, now I can safely see everything behind me. 6) Support from the manufacture was excellent, I asked tons of questions (sales and technical) and they always responded by the next morning (Pacific based) A few years ago I had “Best Buy” install one in my daughters car, I never knew the brand. She was just over this past weekend and sure enough when I looked it her car it was also POEMIDO. So now I’m twice a customer… Good product & tech and 1000% happy with both purchases HTH, Mike

Great mirror overall, with one compromise.
Overall, I am pleased with this product. I purchased this mirror over others for two reasons, the OEM look (Pormido nailed it! It looks like it came with the car) and it higher heat rating (time will tell). This mirror serves as a great front/read dashcam and works well at night. For daytime viewing, I turn it off and stick to the mirror functionality. The reason? The severe glare. The video feed is too dim to overcome daytime light causing a confusing mix of camera feed and mirror reflection. Yes, I tried the included "glare screen protector". It didn't help much but degraded the image. Plus, it renders the mirror function unusable. I also tried adjusting the mirror up or down to mitigate the glare. The video feed is still too dark even at the highest setting. I looked at a shop to install the mirror. They wanted $289! Nope, do it yourself. The included instructions and YouTube tutorials make it a fairly easy job. Just make sure to purchase a voltage meter if you don't have one and install the fuse taps in the correct direction (YouTube, "How to install fuse taps"). Another install tip, purchase some Lockitt Posi-taps available on Amazon. They make tapping into the backup light a breeze. At night the mirror is great. It really opens up your field of view and does a great job of showing images a normal mirror doesn't. Overall, 5 stars for the mirror and it's functionality. Minus one star for its inability to overcome daytime glare. This is a solid 4 star option that I don't think other rear view camera mirrors can beat.
