Very happy with this product
I bought these because my wife kept damaging the M sport rims (with low profile tires) on her 2022 BMW X5. We had the rims repaired and repainted twice in 3 years. I thought this product was more expensive than other similar related products, but I didn't want to cheap out and get something that did not look nice and serve its purpose. I just got done installing this product, and I am very happy with the outcome. They look seamless with the rims and were not overly difficult to install. Just press in one of the ends in with your hand and start hammering away with a rubber hammer/mallet working your way around the rim. Don't align the product around the entire rim before you start hammering. The product will self align as you go around with the rubber hammer. Just press the starting end in with your finger and start hammering. Cut the excess product where the two ends meet. I would recommend cutting off the piece that extends a little beyond the end of the product as I found it unnecessary and the ends align better without it. I would also recommend hammering hard. I took it easy with the rubber hammer at first thinking I didn't want to damage the rim or the product, but I found the product went in easy when I hammered hard. I realize now that the rubber hammer wasn't going to damage the rim or the product. You need a rubber hammer, a jack, and an air pump to inflate the tires when you are done. I doubt I am going to have to look at curb rash on my wife's rims again. I'm very happy with this product, and I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of installation.

Band Aid. UPDATE: 11/20
Our not even a month old Ioniq 6 sustained rim rash on three of its alloy rims. Replacement cost as quoted by the dealer would be $2600. Saw AlloyGators and thought they would not only cover the rash but prevent against future damage. Researched installation and thought it best to have our local tire and wheel shop do it. Glad I did. Self-install would have been a bear since the weather turned frigid. The tire shop got a bit heavy handed with the glue at the joint cover and a bit oozed out. Enter AlloyGator customer support. Being cautious I email them along with a photo to ask the best method to remove the excess glue. What happened next was super crazy. I get an email back not answering my question but denying it is their glue and the opinion that the guards are not properly installed. This goes back and forth. I return to the tire shop installer. They think I’m nuts! They have instaythese in the past and there was nothing unusual about installing these. The recommendation from AlloyGator to beat them with a rubber mallet was declined as doing so would either damage the sidewall of the tire or deform the guard. Again back and forth with AlloyGuard. Insisting the installation needs some “tiny tweaking”. Then I am told I am communicating with UK and need the USA side. I hear from AlloyGator Canada. Same thing. “The guards are just a bit off”. Still no excess glue answer. My last communication is with a US part owner who says the guards are installed correctly but offers to have someone come and replace them so the glue drips don’t take away from the aesthetics. I decline after hearing the more than a dozen emails telling me they are not installed properly and having me return to the installer have absolutely done me in. I do invite the company rep to come and look them over but I’m toast. Yes they do cover the damage. Yes they will prevent further damage. But at what cost? Hours of emailing and concern that they will fly off at 80 mph and damage the car or someone else’s. Fingers crossed I guess. Update: a representative from Alloygator checked the installation this morning (3/5) and all is good. Kudos to Alloygator for going the extra mile for our peace of mind. Thank you Jon for the excellent visit. One of the rim guards has pulled loose do to a damaged clip gripper. Not sure how or why. I thought these were the answer but have now added an issue. Of course I can order replacement a gripper (clip) but will then need to have the installer replace it and maybe have to order/replace the entire Alloygator rim guard.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Total waste of money. Purchased 2 sets about a year ago. Tried installing them following the online instructions and video. But after spending 2 weekends I was unable to install them they would not sit flush against the wheel as indicated in the video. I reached out to support and they asked for photos which I submitted and they ghosted me. Never heard back. Since I waited so long trying to get support from the manufacturer I was unable to return them. Don't waste your money. I also had to purchase some tools for the installation like a dead blow hammer. Installation is super difficult compared to other designs and the metal clips which grip the tire ended up scratching my black rim .. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Substantial rim protectors
Pros: Covers the entire rim. I purchased a different brand a few months ago that just stuck on with glue and didn't cover the entire rim. The first time I hit a curb, the strip came loose and didn't protect the rim from damage. These appear to be more substantial and definitely protect the entire rim of the wheel. Will see if/when I hit curb again if these really protect. Cons: I only rated these as a 4-star for installation but didn't install myself. Although the YouTube video made it look like these are somewhat easily installed with a rubber mallet, I paid a wheel shop to install since the tires need to be deflated and it seems like they require some finesse to ensure they are placed securely. The wheel shop used an automotive adhesive instead of the one that comes with the product to be sure they stay put. Overall, for about $40 more than I spent in the cheaper glue-on protectors, these seem to be a good deal for the $$.

Great wheel protection
I have expensive wheels on my BMW which are susceptible to curb rash. For $100.00 they protect my wheels from curb rash. I have had then on for 2 years. One of the protectors was not installed correctly and needs to be replaced. The installer is installing it tomorrow for free. I had to buy 4 protectors and only use one but I may need them in the future. Wheel repairs are $250.00 at BMW so these were a no brainer.

Not the easiest installation, Product Issues too
Update: The company read my review and ended up refunding my money for the protectors based on all my troubles. I will tell you that I stand by my previous review, but if you get a heavy dead blow hammer, it makes it easier. I got a 4lb one instead of a 2lb one and was able to get the rim protectors in finally and they've held for a couple of month and are doing what they are advertised to do as my wife has hit a couple of curb with no rim damage. First off, the clips are a HUGE pain in the *** to install. Wear gloves and have pilers, it really sucks. Then the super glue is completely dried up, be sure to have your own for installation on your car. Then, my package was missing about 30 clips, I had to contact the manufacturer to send me more so I could do the 4th wheel. Next, even in a fully deflated tire, hammering in the alloygator between the rim and wheel is another HUGE pain in the ***. Just be ready for it take a while to get it flush. I think it would be easier to take the tire off the car and do them one at a time. We'll see how they perform, but you should be aware the clips and the hammering on is an absolute chore. You've been warned. Giving it two stars until my wife hits a curb and we see how they perform.
