Amazing quality
I greatly enjoyed playing this console due to its excellent selection of games. The games run smoothly and look sharp thanks to the high screen quality. The overall design is well executed, combining the classic Game Boy style with a more modern appearance. Additionally, the strong battery life allows for extended play sessions.

Amazing so far
First off, Iโm not a vine reviewer. I didnโt get this sent to me specially to review. Iโm someone who wanted a sense of nostalgia who has some growing time on his hands and doesnโt have many โฌ100s to buy an old PS1 or N64 and buy the games and packs etc. so, I didnโt get this some research and bought this one. Iโm 3 days in and love it. Lots of fighting games, racing games and the feel is great! So far have charged it 3 times without issue, I have yet to download ROMs or emulators but hopefully will do that soon once I can find out how to. Looks-wise, I got the white one and itโs sleek and cool. Sound is fantastic. Game choice is varied and great! No Mario etc but has great variance in choice. So far itโs five stars for value for money, great size, and worth the โฌ116 I spent.

Good emulator for GB, GBA, Dreamcast and PS1 games, on a buggy device
So the first thing that happened when I launched my Anbernic is that the dpad wasn't working. I could only go down and right, not up and left. The joystick was completely unresponsive. I thought it was defective and was prepared to return it. I turned it off and on again, and then it started working normally, so if you're having the same issue, just bear in mind it might take a couple of reboots to function. The device doesn't have enough horsepower to emulate the PSP games that come in the box. Of all the ones it comes with, the only game I could get functioning in an OK state was Ridge Racer. I don't know if the PSP uses shaders, but Ridge Racer was having issues at first, yet later on it seemed to be working normaly. There is a tool in PPSSPP called "Frame Skip", if you that to 2, it'll make some games more playable. I give it some forgiveness for this because it doesn't really look like it's meant to be a PSP emulator, and PSP emulation is crap anyway, but if you look on Youtube they have paid loads of people to advertise it with PSP games that are mysteriously running much better than you can ever get them running on the real device. However, Ridge Racer Type IV for the PS1 runs like a dream. Just don't run any fancy crt shaders on it and you'll be fine. Most impressive was the Dreamcast emulation. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is such a beautiful game and it runs amazingly on this device! The screen is of a high quality. It is LCD, but it has decent black levels. The bevel overlays that Retroarch use will make it more fun to play GBA games and such. If you want to turn them off, turn off Shaders and Overlay in the Quick Access menu (pressing the home button while ingame). For those not already aware, you can put your own roms (games) onto the 64gb card. I recommend the Reddit r/roms megathread, which cannot be linked here, for more information. You can even run custom roms. I am running a custom translated version of Mother 3, which looks great on this device's screen. If you want to run Nintendo roms you will need to shove the roms into the affiliated folder. H:>Roms>Gba as an example. The UI will populate itself with a GBA option. However I haven't found SNES options yet. I made my own folder, which didn't work. I'll look into it. Another word of warning - The firmware leaves something to be desired. The Battery Indicator that you get in Retroarch is simply incorrect. Assess battery level by the light indicator on the device. It will be green when full or near full, orange when halfway full, and red/flashing red when it's running out, just like the Nintendo DS/GBA SP lines. Wait until it's flashing red or it's ran out before you start charging. Retroarch doesn't seem to update battery levels much, even accounting for the discrepency. You should NOT use a fast charger for this (such as Steamdeck) or the charging speed will actually be throttled and your device will get too hot. Stick to usbA to usbC chargers attached to your computer or a usb port and not a plug, the one that it comes with if possible. It only has Retroarch and GameRooms installed (GameRooms has no settings and Retroarch has way too MANY settings). No Duckstation or mGBA or Dolphin. The device is ergonomic and comfortable even compared to DS and Switch (too thin) or Steamdeck (too bulky). It's probably my most comfy handheld. My hands will still go numb after some time on more intense games, but I don't need to take long breaks. The device isn't heavy and I don't feel the need to grip it hard. Let it gently sit on your fingers. If you want a true powerhouse to play games on, go with the Steamdeck or something, but for ยฃ80? This absolutely delivers value for money. That's the price of the ps1 alone without any of the games.

Great quality, tons of games and easily customisable

Good enough
Good handheld device. Can load more iso on the sd card which work well. A bit laggy and slow on some games like god of war. Not exactly the psp level performance on them but good enough to kill time at the airport or on the plane.

Great handheld
Loved this retro handheld, loads of good games really easy to add more games to. I own several handhelds and for the money this is up there with some of the handhelds 7 times the price. Solidly built and feels solid in the hand, certainly doesn't feel cheaply made like some others
