I bought this umbrella in preparation for a beach visit. I was so impressed with its performance. It withstood all the wind at the ocean, stayed anchored in the ground at high tide. So easy to screw into the sand with the two handles. Provided great protection from UV ‘s. Very portable in a suitcase and light weight. It gets five stars.

It's a great size. The bag it comes with doubles as storage for small items like sunscreen and a glasses case too. I bought it to fit in the back of a very small sports car and it fits great, lightweight and about as durable as you'd expect from any beach umbrella. Mine was shipped with a corkscrew style plastic anchor that worked perfectly well for anchoring it in the sand. I'm not sure why others have complained about the design. It's outlasted two $40 umbrellas I bought locally. A few tips that seem obvious, but apparently have surprised others: The tilt only goes in one direction, but ya, it's a radially symmetrical object, so you simply spin the base to have it tilt in the direction you'd like. I do so as the sun moves. For middday sun, a 6ft umbrella isn't going to cover larger people. This is good for two small people sitting up to share or for one person laying down. It's probably obvious, but just in case it isn't, the higher the umbrella sits the more shade you can produce. Since you can adjust the height of the umbrella's base shaft, you can adjust the height a bit. This will also help with wind (ideally I face the umbrella toward the wind so that any force is pushing it closed, not open like a sail.) Likewise, keeping the umbrella lower keeps it more stable on those windy carribean days. Honestly, I've been very pleasantly surprised by this little purchase. It's not perfect (for everyone) but it's perfect for me. For a small easy to carry umbrella it's great! If you're small, skinny and or shorter than 5'5" you can likely wear the bag like a backpack which is nice too. This thing is way better than those plastic wrapped umbrellas you buy at any of the tourist traps. I can't complain.

This is a compact, lightweight umbrella that is easy to pack and carry. The corkscrew sand anchor worked very well. We spent a breezy day (up to 24 mph gusts) at the beach and it stayed upright (although it was struggling at the higher gusts and we weighed it down with our cooler). We had to adjust so the wind blew against it and before we tilted it, it did invert once but was not destroyed. I am not sure this would last a full week or season of beach days but for occasional beach trips it works. I downgraded the rating because of that and also the fact that it only casts enough shade for 1-2 people.

Had this umbrella for 3.5 years now and it's been a great buy. Take this guy everywhere with me. Can hike with it, fly with it in a checked bag (largest suitcase in my set) and of course take it to the local beaches. It's saved me it's cost many times over vs renting while on vacation. Sturdy on windy days also One note is that about a year into its life, one of the connector pieces detached. My husband ran some screws into it and problem solved.

This compact umbrella was perfect for our Bahamas cruise. It fits perfectly in a larger 3’ suitcase and includes the umbrella pole and three poles to add to it for setup. Super easy, took my husband less than 5 mins to attach all poles and twist in the sand. Total lifesaver in this Bahamian heat. Provides great shade and takes great heat with the inner lining.

The only thing I liked about this umbrella is that it’s lightweight and easy to push into the sand. Other than that, it’s pretty disappointing. The whole thing feels cheap and flimsy. It shakes so much in the wind that it always looks like it’s about to break. I never felt like it was sturdy or well made. I definitely wouldn’t recommend buying it.

I purchased this to put in a suitcase and fly to a beach for two weeks. I bike around with it in a saddlebag too, so it needed to be compact enough for that. While I appreciated that it was small and light enough that I could have slung it across my back on the bike instead of using the saddle bag, it was nearly not suitcase-able. I know it says the size on the description, but still, seeing it in real life was different. I was hoping to taking my smaller suitcase, but I ended up taking the 33" one, and it still took up like a fifth or sixth of the total volume alone. Not ideal, especially when the beach tent I have is like a quarter of the size. It was easy to carry around on the beach, though, even when walking for a bit. That said, it was much easier to setup than the tent, and sturdier? I was honestly surprised. Nearly every day I was there, there wind was definitely blowing, 10-15 mph steady, and the long screw kept the whole thing in place. Proper placement of the umbrella (i.e. into the wind) kept it from flipping inside out, too. Even in such wind, it was super easy to setup and break down by myself. The coverage was also reasonable for two people, though three would have been a stretch. Biggest downside was how short it was with the screw fully installed in the sand. I'm 5'6", and there was no standing under there. If I was going to drive somewhere and needed to carry an umbrella for a ways on the beach, this would be a really good option, especially with a smaller trunk. Or if you're a frequent nearby beach person and want something easy to carry. It does fit in a suitcase, but it had to be a larger one for sure. I would also purchase a "Noblo" with it, or one of those sandbags that ties to the umbrella to keep it from blowing around. Not that I felt like it needed it, but still.

This small and lightweight umbrella is perfect for carrying to the beach. It comes apart in several pieces and fits into a bag with a shoulder strap. The base was easy to screw down into the sand and was very sturdy. Be aware this umbrella is a little low and small, but I’m 5’ and fit under it just fine. It throws just enough shade for my chair. Wind was 11mph and hardly moved the umbrella at all. Made my solo beach days much more enjoyable.
