DISCDREAM 2 Portable CD Player USB Desktop Sound Card Function Optical Digital Output

Exactly what I was looking for. I was interested in using a simple CD transport with top quality parts and build. with Toslink SPDIF digital output to feed my Yggdrasil LIM and Topping octo, and Musician Drako...all excellent DACs. This CD deck features a great drive that is virtually skip free, and capable of reading CD, CDR and CDRW. This Moondrop Discdream 2, has a very well implemented DAC of popular choice for many. It has enough power in its headphone output to drive most of my headphones to more than loud enough levels. My Sennheiser hd600 are not efficient enough for this player, while easier to drive , lower impedance headphones, as are the others I have, are well powered by this machine. I am impressed with the smoothness, strain-free clarity and precise imaging, along with a refreshing openness this player is capable of on its own. I love that it functions as a USB dac and amp with my PC (Chromebook)..and delivers hi-res streaming from Qobuz beautifully. No noise. no distortion audible ever. Tracking.. A+++++++ ...Portabiity.. CDs sound great on here! Been using it for a while with no issues! The DAC mode is also amazing to use and sounds great on PC Easy to carry around everywhere and good price for what you get

Very cool unit. I would've bought the metal version if it didn't have the slats covering the screen since one of the best features is watching the disc spin. I do, however, love the look of the control buttons on this unit. In fact, esthetically this model wins all around. I just wish it didn't feel so light & plasticy (they could've at least added some internal deadweight to give the illusion of something more solid). My other gripe is that this unit doesn't seem to have internal resume memory. In other words, when you hit stop or power it down, it starts the CD back from the beginning. I guess I've been spoiled by my Sony Discmans that have that feature. Final negative point (just being nit picky) is in this day & age this unit should've come with bluetooth capability. I bought a bluetooth external adapter that simply plugs into the headphone jack to satisfy that need though and that's just fine. It's easy to complain and wish for more but ultimately this is a great machine that does exactly what it's supposed to do and helps bring CD spinning back to life in a fun way. Sounds great and has all of the main controls you need. The LED display though minimal is very visible and looks slick. Another plus is that lifting the lid does not disable playback.

The music sounds crisp and clear but it could have more base. There is no equalizer or tone control to adjust for different earbuds so make sure you are using the best. The unit is shock resistant so you can walk around with it, but it will require a pouch of some sort as it is not sleekly designed like the Discman, it is boxy. While it runs off of the battery, you can plug in the USB charging cord (no regular pronged plug) and use it while it is charging. It is easy to get pronged plugs with USB connections. The readout is easy to see, letting you know which track you are on and how charged the battery is. The Buttons are big and easy to use. The On-Off switch in the back is small but this prevents you from accidentally turning off the unit while listening to music.

The first bit of tech that I bought froma chinese company that isn't made from cheap plastic, cheaper electrical parts and cost cutting techniques. I.e., chineseium! If you want a cheap Walkman cd player that puts out 5 star level audio quality made from parts that are worth the price, this is the disk player for you. AND the instructions that come with it double as a poster too! Tho I'd recommend framing it in a double sided glass portrait frame so you can enjoy looking at the poster while also not having th worry about the instructions getting damaged on the other side if you ever want to use the instructions again as a refresher.

The on-board DAC is clean and clear. Battery was full after being in transit for a month. Can't knock it, so far and I don't think I'll be able to. Paired up with my Hifiman open-back headphones, it sounds crystal clear with plenty of volume to spare. The price is a bit high but you get what you pay for and I am happy. They have a new model coming out (as of February 2025) and so you may opt for that but you shouldn't be disappointed if this one is what you have.

Will have to give this a poor rating. I charged it up today and put a cd in to play. It would play the cd put nothing else worked on this player. No working operating buttons and no working display panel. Can't stop without shutting it completely off and can't skip forward or back on the cd i'm playing. Was not impressed and rather disappointed that this passed inspection and was shipped out. So i will be returning this defective product as soon as possible.

Really nice little unit, purchased to use the optical out with my DAC as I have no analogue pre amp anymore. works well, solid build, great styling. My only gripe, and reason to drop a star is: For the price, a remote control would have been nice, however given its intended as a portable device it makes sense why it doesn't have one. but just sees a little on the pricey side for what it is.

Very pleased - have now connected to active speakers via optic port - sounds good.

Lo utilizzo affiancato e collegato al mio streamer WIIM Ultra, ho provato diversi cd della mia collezione e devo dire che suona veramente bene, sono molto soddisfatto.

Diese Rezension bezieht sich auf den Artikel MOONDROP-Discdream-2 (Mobiler CD-Player) Nach dem Auspacken des Produktes (MOONDROP-Discdream 2) ist man zuerst erschrocken über die Größe des technischen Abspiel-Gerätes! Mit der Zeit gewöhnt man sich an die Größe, oder auch , "man hat was in der Hand!" Der CD-Player gilt als Mobil und im Gerät ist ein aufladbarer Akku verbaut. Das auffällige Merkmal ist aber dem "Digitalen Steuerfeld" an der Frontseite gewidmet! Sehr sauber verarbeitet, die "dicken, großen" Bedienungstasten, die federleicht bedienbar sind und die große digitale Track & laufende Zeitanzeige, sowie der Akku-Füllstand sind "Beleuchtet" gut dargestellt. Der große Vorteil dieses Abspielgerät ist die "On-TOP-Aufnahme" eines Compact-Disc! Kein elektrischer CD-Schlitten, keine elektrischer Einzugs-Mechanismus, die Haken könnten, für das aufnehmen einer CD. Richtig Analog per Hand, wird ein Glas?, Kunststoff-Deckel hochgeklappt, um die CD in den vorgesehenen CD-Aufnahme-Antriebskreuz zu drücken. Klappe zu und schon ist der Player nach Einschalten eines gelb Gekennzeichneten Rasterschalter (ON/OFF) an der Geräterückseite einsatzbereit. Von der Frontseite aus, "rechte" Geräteseite, befinden sich zwei Klinkenbuchsen. Der erste ist für das anschließen und Betrieb eines Kopfhörers, 3'5 mm Stecker, der zweite für ein Anschlusskabel (AUX) für den Anschluss an die Stereo-Heim-Anlage. Klanglich ist je nach der Qualität! eines Kopfhörers sehr gut, obwohl man eigentlich keine HI-RES-Wiedergabe erwarten könnte, war ich von der Soundqualität (auch im Tiefton, oder Bassbereich), sehr überrascht! Nicht nur für Musikliebhaber, sondern auch für das Abspielen von "Hörbüchern, oder Kinder-Hörspiel-Aufnahmen, werden von diesem Player sauber abgetastet. Falls der Compact-Disk-Player nicht mehr abspielt, ist der Akku entladen. Dem Produkt liegt in der Künstlerisch toll gestaltende Umverpackung des Hersteller, ein USB-2 Aufladekabel bei, der an der "linken" Geräteseite angeschlossen wird. Mein Tipp, bevor man mit dem Player in den Park geht, ein Auflade-Akku mitnehmen, obwohl die Kapazität des Akkus sehr hoch ist. Getestet als "Compact-Disc-Walkman" zum Joggen oder Laufen, habe ich nicht getestet, dazu benutzte man besser einen MP-3-Payer. Sehr gut für die Abspielfunktion im Bett und wenn an dem Kopfhörer ein Bluetooth-Adapter angeschlossen wird, kann man alles Drahtlos hören. Der Player ist optisch, sowie in seiner Verarbeitung, "jeden Cent" wert! Man kann nur dem Hersteller wünschen, dieses Produkt zeitlich länger zu vertreiben.
