This product was created with the customer in mind. It smoothly opens and closes easily. The cover has extra space to slip over the umbrella wet or dry. The inner metal is covered by a hard plastic keeping from snapping. It is sturdy and has weight to it. The only draw back is I would have liked the umbrella fabric material to be a little thicker and the brim to be wider but otherwise a solid and good umbrella - versatile and small to carry in your backpack.

Dear Annelies, This is a 5 star product in every sense of the word. The umbrellas is built strong, yet aesthetic and will serve my purposes for a very long time. With the letter you sent along with the package you said that if I ever have a problem with the umbrella drop you a note on your customer service support line and you’ll send me another one!!!! I’m not writing you on your support line because there is anything wrong with my umbrella. I’m writing to say thank you!!!! I’m in Los Angeles where it truthfully only rains a few times a year, if that. We are a desert. However, over the last few days we’ve had a rain storm, pretty significant for this town. And my umbrella quit functioning. Of course I went to Amazon, I looked around and I found your Tumella and was instantly impressed by the video of the wind tunnel and the umbrella’s strength. Again, not that I need a heavy duty umbrella, it only rains a little in Los Angeles. But I was impressed with how far you went in trying to make a very good product. Something better, more durable, more reliable than the mass market. You wanted to be better than the rest for the sake of the customer!!! This stuck with me. So I purchased it. And by the time it arrived we were still experiencing rain and I got to use my Tumella to my sheer delight. It works perfectly. But all of the above is the lesser reason of why I am writing to you. The envelope you included with the umbrella was so fantastically cute and adorable, I was instantly compelled to write to you. The letter, the font used, the picture of the family, your story of how and why you made this product, was so over the top cute I was thrilled at your extreme desire to make your customer happy. And the fact you were willing to send me a new one if this one somehow stopped performing…just melted me!!!!! This is so very unique in the age of fast, disposable, low quality merchandise. Such a breath of fresh air from an a commercial or industrial viewpoint. I have no idea who you are and I am, of course a total stranger to you. But you, your story, your product, your ability to make a superior product over the rest of the market, and your letter including your beautiful photo of your 5 kids!!! (Are those really all yours???) touched my very heart in a way that has not been done in a long time. Especially by a mass marketed product. Thank you for your product. Thank you for your human touch. Thank you for being a cut above the rest. You are obviously very special. Good umbrella. Did its job, kept me dry. I guess I misread the dimensions - that’s on me, it doesn’t extend very high, so I felt like I had to keep all my things I wanted to keep dry very close. Also I’m not sure if mine is defective; however, the wind flipped it the instant it hit the umbrella. It was not an isolated one time event, anytime I had to talk against the wind, if it was tilted just the slightest bit, the wind grabbed it and flipped it inside out. It is very pretty. The outward facing side is black and the underneath is very bright, cheery and colorful. Even on a dark and dreary rainy day, it’s whimsical and colorful. Does fit in the holder of my backpack nicely. It’s a little longer than I was expecting, again that is on me for not fully reading the dimensions. I think it is priced reasonably, it does what an umbrella is supposed to do. I’ve only used it for rain; however, it looks pretty versatile and would be a good sun block. Light enough it doesn’t add to my already heavy bag. It comes with its own sleeve with a Velcro closure. Just giving four stars because it’s not “wind proof” as it was having me expect it to be.

I’m so impressed with both the quality of this umbrella and the company’s customer service. The umbrella is beautiful, very sturdy, and clearly made with excellent craftsmanship. I think this umbrella is super sturdy, compact enough to tuck under your arm or in a tote bag, and works as advertised. Opens and closes like a dream.

I love the sturdiness of these umbrellas. I bought two early Jan 2025. Unfortunately after a few months, one of them stopped working and I was unable to close the shaft (the other one is still in mint condition), so after reaching the Tumella team and providing evidence of the issue, they were happy to send me a free replacement. They were speedy in their reply and followed up all the way through until they knew I was happy with my replacement which I received within days. Overall I am a very happy customer and would definetely recommend buying!

The umbrella looks nice, feels well built, and easy to use. Have used in sunny, windy, and rainy conditions - does a good job. A tiny amount of water gets through the wind vents under extremely heavy rain, but this can be mitigated by holding the umbrella at a steady angle. So far it's a reasonable compromise considering how well it's holding up during heavy rain and wind.

The umbrella is of a high quality, extremely well made and sturdy with a choice of unique designs. It is a bit bigger and heavier than your average umbrella, but is still compact enough to easily carry in a rucksack/bag. So far has been tested in heavy rain and windy conditions and it hasn’t let me down yet, would recommend
