This is basically the only mouse I buy. My previous mouse was also a Razer Basilisk, an older model from around 2017, and it served me extremely well for years. My daughter eventually broke it, so I needed a replacement. I originally decided to try something different and bought an ASUS ROG Harpe Ace 2. Unfortunately, my experience with it was terrible. Bluetooth was extremely spotty, and the 2.4 GHz connection would stutter unless I had the dongle practically an inch away from the mouse. It became way too much troubleshooting for something as simple as a mouse. I still have the ASUS, but at this point it’s basically just sitting unused in a drawer. That’s what brought me back to what I already knew worked: the Razer Basilisk. The Basilisk V3 Pro 35K immediately reminded me why I liked this design so much. At around 112 grams, it’s definitely not trying to be an ultralight gaming mouse, but I actually prefer the extra weight. It feels substantial and controlled in the hand without feeling excessively heavy. The shape is extremely comfortable for me, and the materials and overall construction feel premium. Nothing about it feels cheap. Tracking has also been excellent. I’m using it on a glass mouse pad, and it worked beautifully right out of the box. I didn’t have to mess around with settings or troubleshoot tracking issues—it was smooth, responsive, and accurate immediately. Wireless performance has also been rock solid, which was especially refreshing after my experience with the ASUS. I also really like the Basilisk layout. The extra buttons are useful without making the mouse feel cluttered, and the scroll wheel is one of my favorite parts of the design. Overall, it feels like a mature product that has been refined over multiple generations rather than something trying to reinvent the mouse. My biggest complaint is the switches. I really wish Razer would offer a tactile switch option instead of only the traditional clicky feel. I personally prefer a deeper, more tactile feedback, and having that option from the factory would make this mouse almost perfect for me. After trying something else, I’m glad I came back to the Basilisk. My old one lasted me for years, and the V3 Pro 35K feels like a proper modern replacement: premium materials, comfortable weight, excellent tracking—even on glass—and, most importantly, a wireless connection that just works.
