Favourite cheap SPF for combination skin & acne & olive undertone
Got it on a whim, but I now prefer it over the Beauty of Joseon cream one (and the Neutrogena City Shield one) Pros - has a tad of a yellow tin to it - great of olive skin / warm tones - does not leave white marks - sinks in quickly - spreads easily & easy to layer and to reapply - does not create a "porcelain" shade on my skin like Beauty of Joseon does - creates nice dewy/matte look - keeps shine in control throughout the day - putting it on and going in with a bit of pressed powder (Rimmel Stay Matte translucent) on my T-zone creates very natural look - it absorbs the skin oil in itself through the day to keep you from looking like a glazed donut - has not irritated my skin yet - has not broken me out yet - great to reapply as 2nd layer of sunscreen throughout the day (even on the top of another sunscreen) - it is spf 50 - its smell goes away after about an hour (I like the smell - it smells like 2024 version of the sunscreen used in 2000 lol) - gives a tiny tiny bit of a "snatched"/tight feeling to my skin which I like - feeling very confident while wearing it - make-up - so far so good but I don't apply it often enough in general to have enough valuable experience with that Cons - the label is a bit misleading - it does not create matte look on the skin - it can actually look a bit too shiny after application - it has the typical sunscreen smell to it - but better - but why does it need to have perfume in it at all?? - contains alcohol -> it evaporates quickly and helps with initial oil control, but may not be for dry skin Overall I will keep repurchasing it unless my skin develops reaction to it. IMPORTANT NOTE RE MATTIFYING: I think this is one of the product that is really good and accessible but many people will be disappointed by it and throw it in a bin. Reason being because they will expect a "matte" effect on their skin (the whole time while wearing it). The formulation of the product contains many ingredients that will absorb the excess oil from your skin into them - instead of just letting it shine through - which is what creates that "mattifying" effect. So you still may need to use powder and/or blot your face once or twice a day (if you have combination/oily skin). But this is the only sunscreen that has given me consistent mild dewy look throughout the whole day without the glazed donut look. So my skin actually looks "just normal". Not too dry, not too oily. I usually blot my face 2h after putting it on and then I am good until the end of the day (not the case with other sunscreens). P.S. if your sunscreen is pilling up - it may be your previous layers (I had to give up my hyaluronic acid); water vs. silicone based skin care; not enough drying time between layers; dragging your skin too much during application; not enough regular exfoliation of old skin; or dust & fibres on your face if you don't wash it in the morning.

Goodbye shiny face!
I bought this only on the basis of its promise that it would leave your face looking matte and not shiny as most other sun protection factor creams do. I am impressed. You can put as much or as little on as you like as this really does absorb instantly without leaving you shiny or indeed having that horrible gloopy feeling. Once applied, you can put make up on straight away without having to wait around until its absorbed. It has a nice fresh smell that doesn't smell too much of a suncare product. That smell is there just a little bit, but most of them do have this and maybe its just the effective ingredient in it that makes the smell. But it is not overpowering. Another good point is that it is eye friendly. For years I never put sun lotion directly underneath my eyes due to wearing contact lenses and the lotions just making my eyes sting all day. This product really is eye friendly. I can vouch for it. I had a scare with a mark under my eye that I got investigated. It turned out to be sun damage only, but it resembled something more sinister. I now realise I probably got the damage there due to years of not putting a sun lotion under my eyes. So I applied the nivea directly under the eye area and was waiting for my eyes to start stinging. Nothing. No sting at all. That was a major plus point for me. I wear this lotion now most days in place of my usual moisturiser due to its high protection factor and that its a really comfortable easy to wear lotion.

A must have sunscreen for daily use
I recently had the opportunity to try out the NIVEA UV Face Shine Control SPF50, and I must say, it has quickly become a staple in my skincare routine. First and foremost, the sunscreen offers a high level of sun protection with its SPF50 formula. When I was on holiday and living in a sunny climate, it's crucial for me to shield my skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, and this product does an excellent job in that regard. I feel confident knowing that my skin is well-protected, even during extended periods of sun exposure. Another aspect that I appreciate about this product is its lightweight and non-greasy texture. It blends effortlessly into the skin, without leaving any residue or white cast. The formula feels comfortable on the skin. Additionally, it works well as a base for makeup, allowing for smooth application and long-lasting wear. Furthermore, the moisturizing properties of this sunscreen are worth mentioning. Despite its shine control abilities, it doesn't compromise on hydration. My skin feels nourished and moisturized throughout the day, without any dryness or tightness. It's a great multi-purpose product that saves me time and effort in my skincare routine. However, when it comes to shine control, I found the performance to be somewhat lacking. Throughout the day, I still experienced some oiliness on my skin, especially in my T-zone. It's worth noting that I have combination skin, so individuals with oilier skin types may have a different experience. The packaging of the NIVEA sunscreen also worth noting. The compact 50 ml tube is travel-friendly and easy to use, with a flip-top cap that ensures no product is wasted. It's convenient to carry around in my bag, making reapplication hassle-free. I highly recommend this product for daily use, as it has become an essential part of my skincare routine.
