Super Agers is a detailed guide to a revolution transforming human longevity. This is a breakthrough moment in the history of human health care. The person making that bold claim is one of the most respected medical researchers in the world, Eric Topol. Dr. Topol’s unprecedented, evidenced-based guide is about how you and your family and friends can benefit from new treatments coming available at a faster rate than ever. From his unique position as a leader overseeing millions in research funding, Dr. Topol also explains the fundamental reasons—from semaglutides to AI—that we can be confident these breakthroughs will continue. Ninety-five percent of Americans over sixty have at least one chronic disease and almost as many have two. That is the essential problem this revolution is solving. He explains the power of the new approaches to the worst chronic killers—diabetes/obesity, heart disease, cancer, and neurodegeneration—and how treatments can begin long before middle age, and even long after. In thirty years, we will have five times as many people at least one hundred years old and they will be healthier than ever because of the breakthroughs Dr. Topol describes. The amazing discoveries Topol brings into sharp focus are deeply inspiring about our human potential. We can now realistically see how we can make considerable headway for preventing age-related diseases and may one day be able to slow the body-wide aging process itself.

Informative and Science based
Great book and firmly based on solid science. Every assertion is backed up by including all resources data. This one is a keeper if you study or are interest in what is known to date on longevity of super agers.

Interesting and informative.
Quite a technical book with a lot of medical jargon, but very informative and interesting if you persevere with the " big words" Would recommend 👍

Mostly medical data and biology, almost no actual advice on healthy ageing
I bought this hoping for some good advice (with underlying explanation of course) on ageing healthily. Instead it is a thick book dense with summaries of a myriad of medical studies, statistics, drug treatments, and future possible avenues for drug treatments, for a wide variety of ailments from cancer to neurodegeneration. Very little actual advice is given, apart from some brief words in the early chapter on healthy diet, avoiding ultra processed foods and staying active. I would guess 95% of the predictive medical tests referred to would be unavailable on the NHS to a normal non-billionaire UK citizen. While it is written for the layperson in the sense that it is using understandable English, it reads more like a first year medical student's overview of the ageing process. For me this was a disappointing waste of money.

A Masterclass in Evidence-Based Longevity (Narrated by the Master Himself)
This is exactly what the longevity conversation needs. He cuts through the noise with clinical clarity — separating what’s actually evidence-based from what’s just wellness fluff.Even just a few chapters in, I’ve already made changes to how I think about aging and prevention. It’s sharp, actionable, and never drifts into speculation without anchoring things in data (i.e., it is clear about what is proven vs. what is purely observational / speculative). Also — the fact that it’s read by Topol himself makes a huge difference. You can hear the depth, the conviction, and frankly, the decades of credibility behind every line. A real scientist walking you through what matters.

Should be in every household library shelf!
Great book that puts everything into perspective that is evidence-based. A good side book to Dr.Greger's How NOt to Age. Everyone caught up in tiktok, instagram and "biohackers" who are NOT researchers should read this book as here's where the actual outcomes of studies is weighed properly. There are so many easy-to-read sections that will ease your mind and help your lifestyle. I use these two books in my personal training, cancer exercise, osteo fitness classes. All of the info. is so approachable and written in a way that will sit comfortably with any member of your family you hope to help. I loved his interviews with MelRobbins, Diary of a CEO which complemented the information in Superagers.

Aun con el ocasional humor norteamericano, es un libro que habla de investigaciones serias sobre el mejor envejecimiento fisiológico: morir joven lo más tarde que sea posibleUna inversión redituable!

I am 83 and have been building my knowledge of aging since the 70’s when I first heard Kenneth Cooper speak on longevity and went to his clinic. I read Super Agers by Dr. Eric Topol a second time, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in living longer—and more importantly—living better. It’s packed with science-backed insights on how lifestyle, movement, sleep, and how AI are changing the way we think about aging. Whether you're 40 or 80, this book will give you practical, hopeful guidance on how to add more healthy years to your life and an overview of the current research that may change healthcare and our potential for a longer healthspan.. Give it a read—you might just be inspired by his view on how AI will be changing our health futures. I admit that a couple of the sections of his book were difficult to read but I loved his notes at the end of his book that make it easy to build your knowledge on any of the subjects he covered with a simple click. My rating is a 5+
