MB Quart Formula 4 Inch 80 Watt 2 Way Coaxial Car Audio Speaker Pair with Built in 1 Inch Tweeters for Vehicle Sound System, Black

I was looking for an upgrade from the cheap 4" coax in my recliner sound system. I found these and the price was rather inexpensive and the brand name is familiar to me as decent quality. These are now installed in my fiberglass pods, magnet was a bit bigger but it fit, and I am really impressed. Sound quality is pretty good and voices sound more real, present. Highs are pretty accurate too. Loudness is right in line with the old pair. I'm running these on a passive crossover with a 10" sub - each one. Amp is 100 watts per channel. I have played these nice and loud and I have no complaints at all.

Great sound, used to replace speakers in a pinball machine.

I got these to install in the front doors of my mk6 VW, only to discover that the 4-inch mids have an impossibly shallow mounting depth that made it impossible to install these without either cutting out some of the door frame, or mounting pods on the door to give it clearance which would require a lot of cutting and reupholstering. Disappointing, because when I hooked them up, they sounded nice, running in sequence with a set of Cerwin Vega tweeters and a pair of JBL 6.5's handling low mids. These were to be strictly midrange with bass blockers, with the coaxial tweeter giving some nice sparkle to back up the tweeters in the a-pillars. Instead, I installed them in a vintage radio cabinet that I gutted and replaced with a 50w X2 Bluetooth receiver for my work area! They sound nice for the application, running with a pair of cheap Skar tweeters that will probably eventually blow. Lacking on the low end due to their size and the cabinet shape, but all told they still sound great, especially with classic rock songs that were recorded with the intention of being played on midrange-heavy systems. Definitely a great deal for the price and sound quality. Wish I got to use them for their intended purpose!

the Factory dash speakers 13 ohm were about 2.5 inches but the base screws went to 4 inches and had a deep enough hole to fit larger speakers. These MB Quarts fit after I bent 2 out of the 4 mounting tabs out of the way and used the 2 factory screws for each speaker to hold it down in place and even popped the factory speaker grill on the dash without pushing down on the tweeter, perfect fit!

These have a huge magnet but not too big, they still installed easily into the dash of a 1994 Mitsubishi Mighty Max. Even the original speaker cover fit over top of them. Not much bass but no 3.5" speaker is going to give you that in an open air install. They are better than I would expect for the price, excellent value.
