British Berkefeld 8.5L Ultra Sterasyl (4 Pack) Gravity Water Filter System

Absolutely brilliant! Totally worth buying. If you’re umming and ahhing about investing in a gravity water filter, then ponder no longer. It’s easy to set up and easy to use. It stands independent so you fill it from whatever water source you have, tap, rain, whatever. It filters the water and leaves you with pure, delicious water that you can really taste the difference. It doesn’t take up much space. Be sure to keep it topped up as the filtration takes a bit of time but some early monitoring will get one used to the amount of water one gets through and the amount needed to top up. It’s worth investing in the gauge as it’s impossible to see the water level without lifting the top up. It’s excellent quality and once you start drinking the filtered water you’ll never go back.

Something you thought that you'd never need has become a necessity. We were bought one of these when we went overseas in developing countries in 1996 and it's been an absolute Godsend. I suffered dysentry before we had this, never had a problem after. Although you wouldn't think of needing something like this here we have actually bought another so that we can use it for the kettle, pet water bowls and cooking, as well as drinking. My daughter was saying I had been extravagant buying another until she checked them and realised that we had used all the water from them - 16 litres in one day for 2 people! We only had a problem with leakage when the old plastic tap had given up or someone had overfilled. They are very well made - have to be to last 29 years and still going strong. Yes it's needed a new tap and recently they very kindly sent us a new knob after the old one broke (free of charge), the old lid is a little bent and there's a slight dent in the lower part but its never stopped working. All it needs is replacement candles every 6 months and it will give you years of clean drinking water. One last thing I did notice is that the pet drinking bowls and fountains don't have so much limescale as they did before we got this back up and running, and that was without the candles specifically for limescale.

I have used a water filter system for many years and could not live without it. Tap water tastes disgusting to me. I have found that the white filters are very slow although the taste is the same. Also the tap provided on my new purchase is a cheap thing that drips. If this happens to you, you need a 16mm stainless steel tap. Incidentally, my black filters have lasted for years. Only replaced because of an accident.

I did not receive the blanking grommets for the bottom of the filter as I don’t need to use all 4 filters as there’s only me and my dog. I counted the seller and was told that they did not supply them with the filter and I had to buy them separately. I checked on the doubleton website and it said they come as standard. See attachment. I’m really disappointed. I not only bought the the 8.5 l but also purchased the stand and stainless steel water level tap. I spoke to bot and I am waiting on a reply. I will probably send the lot back if this is not sorted soon as the filter is just an ornamental piece on my kitchen worktop at present.

Great tasting feel safer drinking the water good quality, I wouldn't ad the stainless steel tap and stand to your order.

Gravity water filter with two ceramic filters fitted in top compartment. Overall priming the filters was the main time consuming task to set up and it took considerably effort to get the filters functioning you need alot of patience. Now its a good addition for the home and a nice glass of water ....

The only issue was the tap but was planning to get a spigot anyway.

Absolute rubbish. The unit arrived without the plugs for the remaining filter holes, which makes it completely unusable. Very disappointed with this purchase

Malgré le prix cette fontaine est topissime . Eau super agréable à boire et je fais confiance aux indications concernant la rétention de toutes les « crasses » de l’eau de ville: pesticides, métaux lourds etc….Je verrai dans un mois si mon corps me fera sentir qu’il a moins de ces choses inutiles que l’on ingurgite dans l’eau de ville
