If 8 Is Good, 16 Is WAY Better
I snagged this to use for my new job. I'm training to be a Linux System Administrator. So I have a few computers setup to learn on and not kill our production environment. I needed something fast and simple to connect to my repeater and not spend too much on it. This fit the bill perfectly. Currently there are 2 laptops, 3 desktops (one of them running 4 virtual machines), a printer, a repeater, XBox 360, XBox One and a 4k Television all connected to it. I can move anything around on that switch with absolutely no slow down at all. I had to transfer a lot of music from an external drive to one of the desktops that's acting as a file server. That poor switch was blinking like morse code sent out during war time. But, it got there in full with no waver in speed. To push it further I streamed LoTR in 4K trying to give it a challenge. It didn't exist. It just sat silently and got things done. If you need 16 ports at a reasonable price, low power consumption and can handle some abuse. Yeah, my kittens jumped on a cord and pulled it to the floor. I reconnected everything and it kept on keeping on. This switch will definitely surprise you.

Reliable Speed Boost for Your Network!
The Tenda TEG1116M 16-Port Gigabit Switch is a solid choice if you need to expand your wired connections without hassle. Setup was effortlessโjust plug and go. It delivers fast and stable speeds across multiple devices, making it perfect for handling workstations, gaming setups, or smart home devices. The metal casing feels durable, and it runs cool even with all ports in use. One small drawback is the lack of advanced management features, so if you need VLANs or more control, this might not be for you. But for a simple, high-speed switch that does its job without fuss, it's a fantastic value. All in all, this switch is a no-nonsense, reliable option for anyone looking to streamline their wired network with stable performance. + Fast gigabit speeds + Sturdy metal build + Easy plug-and-play Hope this was helpful!

Solid Performance, but External Power Brick is a Drawback
The Tenda TEG1116M is a reliable and cost-effective 16-port Gigabit switch for home networks. It is entirely plug-and-play, making setup quick and simple without requiring any configuration or additional software. The dedicated uplink ports are a nice touch, making it easy to cascade the switch with others or connect directly to a router. Performance-wise, it handles network traffic efficiently, thanks to its 32Gbps switching capacity and 2M buffer, ensuring smooth data transfers even when managing multiple devices. One nice feature is the 6 kV lightning protection, which adds a layer of safety against power surges. I have no way to test this feature directly, but itโs nice to know the design includes this level of precaution. The fanless metal construction is also a plus, keeping the unit quiet while allowing for good heat dissipation. My main criticism is the use of an external power brick. In my experience, external power supplies tend to be less durable and can fail after a few years. Embedding the power supply within the unit would enhance both longevity and overall build quality. That said, for its price point, this switch delivers excellent value and solid performance. Overall, this is a great option for expanding a home network, especially if you donโt mind the external power supply.

Great Reliability. Amazing price.
This is replacing multiple 5x ports that were "piggybacked" on top of eachother. For the price ($15 off coupon at time of writing) it just makes sense -- even if you don't have 10+ devices right now. My ISP-supplied router has TWO (2!) Ethernet outputs. I have a printer, 2 computers, a shared storage device, 2 gaming consoles, a TV, and an AV receiver that all take an Ethernet connection... and that's just in the one room! Most families have multiple TVs, computers, "Roku's", personal assistants, etc etc. All of these devices are faster and more reliable with a hard-line connection. Even if you have the latest Wifi tech, and alllll of your devices also utilize this brand-new WiFi, and you are below the theoretical bandwidth of that WiFi router, you will inevitably run into problems. If you are on an older standard, like WiFi 5, all it takes is a couple phones and some streaming content to slow down the connection. For me, this is perfect. It looks great and sits securely (unlike the 5 port switches), works flawlessly, and has new features that I may utilize in the future. Plug and play - the set up couldn't be easier. The value you get for your money is incredible: you are paying for fast Internet, you paid for a fancy TV - upgrade to a direct-line connection and never experience disconnects/buffering/ poor signal again.

Very Good Gigabit 16-port Network Switch
This is a 16-port network switch that can connect many computers to a computer network. You use one of the ports for network access and the rest for computer devices using CAT5 or CAT6 networking cables. The transmission speed is gigabit, which is fast enough for most home and office uses. There is built-in 6 KV lightning protection for both the power and network. (My experience is that lightning can induce a current even in devices that aren't plugged in. So, it is unclear whether this will fully protect the network in a real lightning strike.) It is lightweight, but feels solid. Overall, this network switch works very well, as good as my other network switches. Good value for the money.

Blazing Fast Transmission Speeds
This 16-port, unmanaged ethernet switch is exactly what you need to get all your hard-wired network equipment connected when you don't have enough ports. For every speed test I ran, the results always maxed out the test meter. This switch is lightweight and low-profile to take up as little room as necessary. Check out my video review.
