A good spreadable butter – although legally it isn’t
Président is a good-quality Normandy butter and this Président ‘Spreadable’ is a good product too. The effective spreadability almost straight from the fridge is provided by the addition of single cream rather than vegetable oil, so the real butter taste is not impaired. Some years ago it was packaged as ‘spreadable butter’ and Amazon sells this as ‘President Unsalted Spreadable Butter’. From a legal perspective, it probably shouldn’t. While it is still often referred to as ‘butter’, legally it is not: in both the UK and the US a product has to have at least 80 per cent fat to be described as ‘butter’. The Président unsalted butter bar President Unsalted Butter, 250g is 82 per cent fat (I have bought this on Amazon Fresh at as little as £1, at which price it is a real bargain), but the fat content of ‘Spreadable’ is only 70 per cent and the ingredients are listed as ‘butter, single cream and cultures’. That’s why the Spreadable carton itself uses instead the unsexy wording ‘unsalted dairy spread’ to describe what you’re buying. The labelling reflects the legal definition, but to all intents and purposes this is spreadable butter and a clean, tasty and sensible alternative to the butter bar and, as such, recommendable.

I have been buying this for years.its proper butter in a tub I leave it out of the fridge room temperature to use Unlike other "butterfingers a tub that are fake and full of chemicals this is the real deal.
