It really is bacon. It's easy to use and keeps well in the fridge. And the flavor is wonderful. I have an old house with a stove hood fan that doesn't really work. So certain odors from the kitchen go everywhere. I only cook for one, so I just take out what I need for the meal. I like my bacon crunchy so a few seconds in the microwave and it's perfect. It's a little on the thin side but so is regular bacon these days. It's not greasy at all to me but has enough fat to flavor scrambled eggs, stir-fried rice, etc. This is now on my regular rotation for Amazon Day.

Love that the bacon is already cooked and if the package is not opened it’s shelf stable (doesn’t need refrigeration till opened). Perfect for those meals that you want bacon but don’t want to stand over a pan to cook. You can reheat them in the microwave or eat cold. They go great in a BLT and to crumble up in salads. Good value for the money for a pre prepared product. The only smell when I open the package is of bacon.
