Simple fix for a surprisingly annoying problem Picked up this Toggle Light Switch Guard Cover because I kept running into the same issue—smart lights don’t work very well when someone flips the switch off. Installed these and problem solved. They go on easily over the existing toggle switch and block accidental flips while still allowing access when you actually need it. Once they’re in place, the switch stays on, and everything runs the way it’s supposed to. It’s been especially useful for keeping things consistent with Amazon Alexa control—no more wondering why a light isn’t responding. Love these and they work well. They are easy to install and fit snug against the switch plate. I love the clasp to quickly open the clamp if needed. Would buy again.

It works! Easy to install

I bought these in clear because I thought they would be a little less distracting, but they are still pretty noticeable. They aren't by any means ugly though. We bought these because our youngest suddenly discovered they could reach the light switch and made it a priority to turn off the lights or flick them on and off rapidly which is often the reset for smart lighting (And is a pain to repair). Simply take out the screw from your existing cover and install with the longer screw that comes with it. Removing it is just easy. Just do it in reverse. It's intuitive enough to use, but intentionally difficult for a younger child to use. Overall, it is serving its function well.

I needed a switch cover that was kid proof and accident proof to prevent the switch from being turned off and this switch cover checks all of the boxes! I love that this cover will keep hands from shutting on/off a switch but also allowing me to access the switch easily. The cover has a snap in locking mechanism to keep it secured in place. The screws are also included and the. Olof if the screws are white. Super easy to install . Don’t look any further this is the one you must have! Very pleased with this item!

I actually bought these as a deterent and safety/preventive measure for my dad; who was living with dimentia, and would be obsessively compelled to turn off & on the light and fan switches, during his confused phases. They worked well, as he didn't have the bandwidth to figure out how to open them, and would quickly abandon his urges after seeing/feeling that he couldn't use it. After his passing, we kept them installed, so guests don't accidentally turn off/on anything we intend to keep off/on/running at any given time.

For internet enabled devices, you really don't want to cut the power to them. By cutting the power, they are no longer useable through an app or voice command. And, in some cases, turning the power back on, does not immediately reconnect the device to your router. That could take some additional time. In at least one case, turning a light off and later back on via a switch failed to turn the light on, and it didn't immediately reconnect to my router, so took a bit to turn on again. The company involved in that light advised to not use the switch. I have found this to be good advice. And I have had instances where I mistakenly hit the switch. This switch cover still allows the switch to be used. But you can't accidentally hit it to have it turn on/off as a soft cover might. And it is not a more intrusive cover where you might have to remove a screw to turn it on/off. There is a small effort needed to open the cover (child proof). I find that to be a nice compromise. It was easy to install. As for appearance, it is Ok. A better appearance might be to remove the switch, which is more effort, and eliminates possible uses for the switch - I'd have to go to the breaker box to accomplish this, which would likely turn more off than just the switchable item. You may want this for things like replacing a fixture. Another solution could be to use an internet enabled light switch. If your device (light fixture/bulb) is internet enabled, this is redundant and more expensive. And to cut the power, you would need to do so at the breaker box. So, pick your compromise: switch cover, internet enabled switch, or remove switch.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It fit perfectly over the middle switch on a three-switch plate without interfering with the switches on either side, which was a pleasant surprise. Even fits over the dimmer switch. You don’t often come across a product that just works as advertised, but this one does. It even includes longer screws to account for the slight extra thickness added to the plate, which shows some thoughtful design. Solid, no-nonsense product.

These are nice. I like that I can install them using the same screws that I currently have (it does come with screws and they are painted white--I have yellow plate covers) and I can install this cover to to open from the top or the bottom. Really like that. This is exactly what I needed for peace of mind.

Work as expectes

I got these as I have two smart light bulbs in my one room, and my wife kept walking into the room and flicking the switch to turn the lights on/off instead of telling Alexa to turn them on/off. Works well, covers the switch so you can't accidentally flick it, but has a latch to lift the cover up if you have a need to use the actual light switch. For the price, can't complain at all. I wish they came in black (my light switch cover is black), but I painted one of these and it turned out fine.
