Great Value DAC Dongle
Good quality basic DAC dongle for IEM's. You're able to flash the driver for this DAC with the Jade Audio JA11 driver since they both use the same DAC chip. This lets you access an equalizer through Jade Audios software to tune sound to your liking. I would choose this over the JM6 since the amplifier chip on the JM6 will be too powerful for most IEM's.

Shockingly Good DAC for the Price. Clean, Powerful, and Compact
The JM12 really surprised me. I expected a basic dongle DAC, but this little adapter performs way above its price. The sound is clean and detailed, with zero noticeable hiss even on sensitive IEMs. It adds a nice sense of clarity and separation that you donโt get from most built-in phone outputs. The bass is tight, the mids are well-defined, and the highs stay smooth without harshness. What impressed me the most is the power. For something this tiny, it drives my IEMs with ease and keeps everything controlled. It doesnโt try to โcolorโ the sound, it just delivers a clean signal, which I really appreciate. The build quality is solid too. The aluminum housing feels premium, and the cable is flexible without feeling weak. Plus, itโs small enough to leave plugged in without getting in the way. If youโre looking for a budget DAC that genuinely improves your audio without adding bulk, the JM12 is an excellent choice. Compact, reliable, and far better sounding than youโd expect for the price.

Good enough for any IEM.
Noise free and enough power for even planar IEMs.

Needs a firmware update to shine (at least for DSD usage)
Needs a firmware upgrade to really shine. I like to play high quality DSD files on my iphone, using the very capable Neutron player app. Other apps can handle DSD (DoP) also. Anyway out of the box, the firmware with this device can not handle DoP (DSD). However, looking for the Fiio JA11 firmware on the web. With that update, DSD does work. I knew it should work because I have a JA11 also and I knew it handles DSD. I just needed a second low cost but good quality dongle and this did the trick. It sounds good by the way. I know there are comments on Audio Science review of the JA11 firmware being noisy and it must be an impedance issue because I have no problems. Using my B pair of IEMs and its great in the gym bag. Well the B pair is good stuff actually, Letshuoer S12 with a tape mod (look that up if you are a planar magnetic fan). But yes, for my needs this dongle can handle power monger planars.

Good alternative to JM6
It was a good alternative to the JM6 Pro. This being less powerful, allowing me to easily reach half volume on my phone comfortably at times. The JM6 Pro, only capable of using the first 2-3 volume notches on my phone, being too powerful for IEMs yet highly recommended all over the place. It also feels fairly durable, the cable having a kind of unique grippy quality to it. The sound is great, but if you really want to tinker around with it, there is a way to flash Fiio's ja11 firmware to it to add PEQ control to it.

Good quality and audio so far
So far so good, I've been using this on and off for several months with my wired earbuds and it's working very well. I do store it in a case with the earbuds when not using it, so I'm not being too hard on it. But others I've had were loose or needed to be placed just right in my phone usb-C port or they'd lose audio, and this one has none of those problems. I'm no expert but the sound quality is good for me so far also.

solid
Great sound, more than enough power for my needs (IEMs and some not very demanding headphones). No background noise/hissing/popping/clicking that I can detect during audio play and no funny business of trying to mask that by powering off the output on silent passages/pauses (other dongles suffer from these). Not perfect. There is a short and very faint chirping sound around 3 seconds after I stop playing music. I only notice that in a very quiet room on my Android tablet but not on my laptop. I'm guessing that's when the device powers off the dongle (power saving). As other reviews mention this dongle seems similar to the JA11. I could update its firmware to the current (2.2) JA11 firmware (on Windows using the update tool, no need to run as administrator) and now even that faint chirping is gone. So I'm very satisfied now (after taking the risk of bricking the dongle).

Great for the Daybreaks
Solid DAC for a great price. I'm running the CrinEar Daybreaks through this in my gaming PC and it's just right in my opinion. I got the JM6 Pro at first, but it's legitimately too much power for it. I had to run windows volume at 10-20 on the JM6 pro, and most things are just too loud by default so I have to turn down. This DAC dials the power back a bit and makes it more manageable. My listening volume is around 50 now which is perfect. No noise floor or distortion that I can perceive. This is all you need for most IEM's. If you have some harder to drive headphones, the JM6 Pro will be what you want.
