Wyze Cam v3 Black

I have several of these cameras. Small without being very noticeable. Very clear image and easy set up. Great product for the price

Overall i would say it is a decent camera. A few complaints but I’ll get into that in a minute. Pro’s: Sleek look. The black blends in to scenery better in my opinion. Very easy to setup. Mounting hardware is easy (just two screws), has a magnet that’s fairly strong, very capable directionality. App functionality is fairly straightforward and works as you’d expect it to. I also have the “Cam Plus” feature, to be able to access the recordings in the app, its cheap (a couple bucks a month) and very useful - so i would highly recommend that you get that as well, it adds a considerable amount of functionality to the camera. Con’s: Most of the con’s i have are more about the app, not the camera, but I’ll list them anyways. The app can glitch out - for example while playing back footage trying to skip thru a specific time period, after about 4 “time-skips”, it just goes back to that 4th time you went to, no matter what time you actually select. Additionally, there’s another bug that happens after closing the app, then doing something else on your phone, then going back into the app - if you tap on the camera you were viewing last time you were in the app, it wont load until you manually force-kill the app and reopen it. Not a deal breaker, but annoying nonetheless. Bonus for nerds - the camera does not natively support RTSP. However - there IS a beta firmware version available on Wyze’s website, that enables it. You do need to load it on to a freshly formatted SD card, but if you are going that far, you probably have an idea of how to do that. TL;DR - I’m more than willing to put up with the con’s, due to how dirt cheap this thing is. I mean for roughly $30 you get a very functional security camera. Just suck it up and deal with the (very minor) issues!

Best security camera for price. It has night vision and can run without a subscription if you buy a micro SD card for it. 128gb micro SD card will give you 8 days worth of past continuous footage available. Won't last outside without proper protection so prepare accordingly based on your situation. They have longer cords available to buy as well as cover that can go over it. If you can get the proper protection cover I'd highly recommend it. Better to spend another 6 bucks than end up with a camera that no longer works due to outside weather.

It's better than the Wyze V4. We bought 3-V4s (only set up 2 of them)with night vision & the night vision never worked. Also didn't care for the new version of the events format. We replaced them with the Wyze HD V3's & we are very happy with all of them. Now we're stuck with all those v4s. That was a costly mistake on us & but now, we're very pleased with the switch to V3s

Camera is great. App marketing, not so much.
