I'm giving this a 5 even though it was a little pricey (but I bought the single packet to try it out, which is way more cost per use. I've added the 8 pack to my subscribe and save which comes out to a MUCH better price), and even though it didn't take all of the hard water stains off (our dishwasher was COATED in hard water stains. It was nuts) because it was starting from a huge amount of buildup and it did remove a LOT of the buildup. I took a bunch of before and after photos so you can see the amount of lift this one packet did. We used to use a dishwasher cleaning packet (different brand, and it wasn't cheap either) every month, and then I just sort of petered out because I didn't feel like that was helping much. We live in the mountains and we have hard water. And I mean HARD water - minerals galore. It's great for many reasons and the water straight from the tap is clean, tasty and crisp, but it does make some things a pain in the butt: like the dishwasher, washing machine, shower heads, sous vide machine... anything with water in it a lot.... getting all kinds of white hard water stains and plugging up. We're able to use vinegar on small things like soaking shower heads and sous vide, but the dishwasher is a much bigger complicated project. I remembered my folks using oxalic acid back in the day in their dishwasher, so I started looking into it and it's actually not good to do that (you can read up on it with a quick search, oxalic acid is no longer an option as far as I'm concerned). So that leads me to this product which includes citric acid. I use citric acid in cooking and beauty products - it's super safe, so I was very interested in this. It's very easy to use; you simply tear open the packet and dump the powder into the bottom of the dishwasher and run a normal cycle. I was blown away by the amount of hard water stains that came off. Like I said, I immediately added the 8 pack of these to our Subscribe and Save and plan to use one per month now. Before I used this, the hard water buildup was so bad that the dishes were coming out cloudy as well. The first dishwash I did after cleaning the dishwasher with this packet produced super clear clean dishes. It was very effective; it removed a ton of buildup, no white blotchy color on them, and there was no lingering residue from the cleaner. No weird smell or taste on the dishes or anything like that. Just super clean. I think that regular use with these pouches will probably take off even more buildup over time. Very impressed.

I wanted to try a different washing machine cleaner. The one I used in the past seemed to work but I never felt like it did a great job. After reading a lot of reviews, I found Lemi Shine. I figured it was worth a try. I believe this product is doing a better job of cleaning my washing machine. In addition to the cleaning powder, it also includes a wiping cloth. Nice touch. I believe my washing machine is much cleaner now. Both from a scent and visual perspective. I liked the product enough that I also purchased their dish washer cleaner.

Works fabulously with aluminum machines. A friend who has plastic interior says it takes 2 washes to completely clean their machine. Mine had a white film even after cleaning with bleach, after using this, it was clean after 1 washing. Quite pleased!

Very effective. Generates a good amount of foam. Leave a great scent.

The outer product box arrived crushed, torn, and heavily taped, which was disappointing. However, the individual cleaning packets inside were intact and usable, and the product worked as expected. Better packaging would help prevent damage during shipping

Have only tried a few times but seems to help with buildup on glassware. Leaves the machine sparkling.

It foamed and churned, frothed and roiled, and delved into an area few dare to venture! It carried itself into battle with a refreshing scent.

Have been dealing with a funky smelling dishwasher for a while and tried a number of different things. I used two packets for the initial clean and have to say it seems to work pretty well! I was impressed that it was significantly improved after just the one use. I will keep using.
