Samsonite Foldaway Packable Tote Sling Bag

This is the perfect bag when you happen to buy while traveling. Because it folds compactly in your carryon luggage, it’s easy to throw in as you pack without taking up space. But, unfolding it reveals a great shopping tote with great capacity for storage. It zips closed for safety and security with pockets inside. On my way home from Scotland/Liverpool, London, I was able to fit tea, paintings, tea cakes,wraps and scarves into the bag, check my carry on, and use this with my backpack home. I read that someone couldn’t fold it back to its original size, but following the instructions, I had no problem. It’s ready for my next international trip.

This is my favorite travel tote! I pack it in my suitcase in case I need extra storage. I’ve used this when my luggage weighed too much, so could easily pull things out and carry on, and have also used when items did not fit in my bag after buying trinkets on vacay. It’s easy to pack and carry. Great quality!

This is a nice sized bag that I purchased to use during vacation, since I normally end up with some souvenirs. It’s super lightweight, not not flimsy like other bags I’ve tried. It is a bit of a challenge to get back in the stuff sacj, but that’s not the end of the world. My only complaint is that there isn’t a way to slide this bag onto the extended handle of a suitcase, so you have to wrestle it. I did a workaround using a carabiner, but that isn’t perfect. One last thing, I ordered the blue bag. It is definitely between blue and purple. I love the color, but it isn’t 100% blue.

I was eyeing a handsome $70 bag recommended on NY Magazine. But knew I would overpack as well as overpay. This Samsonite for its perfect weight, size and value, so I DIY'd it. First, I wanted more structure for carrying my books. I cut rectangular scraps in thick polyester felt from a defunct Ikea organizer, stitching them to sides and bottom on a Singer home sewing machine. Second, i wanted a shoulder strap, repurposing one from a worn-out Travelon bag. I ran lengths of nylon webbing along the outside, with the felt insides lending extra strength. Love that the bag fits right under the seat ahead. It helped me take a 10-day trip to a very cold climate with just this "personal item" bag and a large backpack carryon, wearing my snow coat. Recommend this baby.

The fabric is sturdier than expected and not too lightweight. Construction seems durable with binding on all seams and washable. The pocket to make it pack-able is attached to the interior and can be used as a storage pocket. Outside pockets are well placed and sized for cell phone, wallet, etc. Straps are the right length to have on my shoulder with the bag under my arm.

I love this bag.. strong durable.

The bag is fine for what it is - a foldaway extra bag to carry on trips. But folding it up is next to impossible and once folded it does not really lie flat. So OK, but not terrific.

This was bought for an international trip. It folds down small but is quite sturdy. It’s always nice to have an extra bag on a trip,for souvenirs,laundry,beach,or groceries. Buy this,it’s totally worth it!

I bought this bag because it is the maximum size for a personal item/purse with Air Canada. It seems really big but I was able to fit it under the seat and put my carry on suitcase overhead. The strap length is fine for setting on-top of your carry on suitcase. Still possible to put over your shoulder but a little bit awkward, yes. No regrets on this purchase.
