This is a presentation of great photographs of truly beautiful trees with dramatic compositions that only Beth Moon can achieve. Such exotic forms. So glad to have this book as a record their strength and beauty.

An amazing book filled with black and white photos of trees. Kinds that are not in your backyard. The descriptions include a small bio about the tree, and many include the estimated ages. Trees that have survived weather, man and time. It's a must have for your table or at home library to marvel at trees we don't see every day.

This is far more art than reference or trees/woodworking. Moon took gorgeous pictures of some amazing trees & then processed them in a special way (platinum/paladium mix?) to make them last forever. They're kind of B&W, but glow a bit more even on the printed page. Lovely. And the trees are incredible as is the way she captured them. Unfortunately, she made the decision to put just a plate on each page, then put a separate section in the back with thumbnails & a very brief explanation for each. At least she got the Latin names & locations for them. She could have easily put the explanation on most pages & on a facing page otherwise & I wish she had. Flipping back & forth sucked. The paucity of information was just plain frustrating. Luckily, I do have good references. As a coffee table book for someone who really appreciates photography & trees, this is a darn good book. I'm such a person as is my wife.

This book was everything i expected and more!! I researched this before purchasing and then i finally did it one day! I bought my 2nd "coffee table book"! It is beautiful. Nice and weighted. It has turned some heads and a few visitors have actually taken the time to flip thru the pages and become mesmorized by the sheer beauty of these natural trees! It is just so beautifully made i can't stop looking at it!

Beautiful photos of amazing trees. I wanted this book the first time I saw it but could not manage the full coffee table book price. I was delighted to find the price had been reduced when I came back to it. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five was the format. The photo descriptions are not with the pictures. You have to flip back and forth to read the background of the tree you are looking at. Plus I'm not sure if it was my eyes but the images seemed slightly out of focus. This may have been the photographer's intention or the printing process but for me it distracted from the visual enjoyment. Still, it's a lovely collection of trees many of us will never see in real life. I'm happy I own it.

As a longtime lover and taker of tree photos and collector of tree books, I have to say this is among the very best. So happy that Moon is using black and white!
