HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT FOR OBOE and Clarinet will fit
PERFECT, good sturdy product. My Son's oboe is safe on it. He has had so many near misses. Or he has broken the reed at church because he is swinging it around. Now his oboe has a home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT FOR OBOE and Clarinet will fit it. Easy to transport as well

Considering the price this is a great, sturdy product that does the job keeping my flute safe and handy for practice sessions. It fold easily and light enough to pack/transport.

does the job
Comes in a box, is necessarily heavy, and requires you to screw it together (no tools required); which is simple enough. I was surprised that the cone section was metal, thinking it would be soft and protective, and although I have no complaint - had I designed it, I think I would have probably covered areas of contact with something soft. This is an inexpensive product which does a basic but essential job. I used to free stand my clarinet in between uses and knocked it over a number of times, on one occasion breaking a new mouthpiece that I just paid £70 for. So a stand is a good idea, get one, especially if you are using a quality instrument and want to keep it in one piece. Look at other options, but for a budget solution, this ticks the box and I have no reason to give it a bad score. Recommended 9/10

This stand is a best friend of my Clarinet!
This is a great stuff! At last I have always wanted one! I kept fed up with every time before I started to play, I had to setting it up and then when I finished playing with the Clarinet, packing it up in the box and keep it safe. Got this product, so I can play it straight away and put it away with out any packing! Make sure the room is dirt free! This product is a good value from Stagg, well made and high quality, very well balanced when putting the Clarinet on the stand, it will not fall which I am quite impressed. When I was trying to find a stand and I wasn't looking for a "high-end product" because any stand does not need any high wearing as it is only just standing still and resting for the Clarinet or Flute.

stand by me
As innocent internet consumers we often purchase with undue trepidation when confronted by a new name or product. So it was with baited breath that I awaited delivery of what I hoped was not yet another knee jerk 'bargain buy'. I need not have worried. I have various Hercules stands for guitars and one for my tenor and there is no doubt they are substantial pieces of kit... if a little on the heavy side. So my immediate reaction when the postman thrust the parcel into my eager hands was, "It's a bit on the light side, innit?" Well, yes it is when compared to a heavier stand... so what? The only relevant question is 'does it do the job?' and if it does, then the reduction in tonnage is a most welcome plus for the peripatetic horn blower. The build quality is a tad less robust than the Hercules - but then as the Hercules is a tad over-engineered I guess that makes the Stagg spot on. It has an adjustable bell rest, for alto or tenor, and a nice sized knob to screw the upright to the well splayed tripod foot and goes together well. I have Stagg guitar cases for a Strat and Yamaha G623 - both well made still going strong after many years service and I am pleased to say this stand is of like quality. Of the two sax stands I think I prefer the Stagg - and not just because at 10 quid inc. p&p it is half the price of the Hercules - but because it is slightly quicker/easier to assemble/disassemble and is a simple but aesthetically pleasing object in itself.

Nice piece of kit, well made
I already have a Stagg music stand so figured this would be equally well-made. I was right - it is. The legs and hinge mechanism are metal, while areas that come into contact with the instrument are plastic (solid stuff, not flimsy). I use the stand for my flute and the pointy bit fits fine. Any downsides? Well, it's a bit bulky. The pointy bit unscrews and the legs fold in, but you still end up with two fairly chunky parts to carry around (I leave it as one unit and carry with my music stand - it just fits into the bag that came with the latter). But I looked at several slimmer, easier-to-stow items but I didn't trust them to either hold my flute securely or last very long, and some were far more expensive than this item. So I'm happy with the trade-off and since I was aware of this before I bought it I haven't knocked off a star for it being a bit larger than some other stands.

Perfecto.

I ordered this Stagg stand because I needed a simple, reliable spot to put my clarinet during practice. I wanted something I could just grab, put down anywhere (my desk, the floor), and use immediately, without any setup, folding, or assembly. Absolute Simplicity: This is its best feature. It's a single, solid piece. There is absolutely no assembly, no folding legs, and no parts to lose. It's ready to use straight out of the box. Surprisingly Stable: For a stand that's small enough to fit in one hand, the base has a very nice weight to it. It provides a low center of gravity that keeps the clarinet perfectly stable and secure. Grab-and-Go Portability: It's portable not because it collapses, but because it's so small and light. It's easy to pick up in one hand and move from your practice room to the living room, or just toss (gently) in a bag for a local rehearsal. Instrument Safe: The peg is a smooth, hard plastic that fits the bell perfectly and protects the instrument from any scratches. Not for "Packing": Because it doesn't fold or come apart, it can be an awkward, L-shaped-object to pack efficiently in a crowded gig bag. It's not as "packable" as a dedicated folding travel stand, but for my home use, this isn't an issue. This stand is exactly what I was looking for. It's the definition of "handy." It's stable, requires zero thought or setup, and is small enough to be placed anywhere. If you hate messing with folding legs and just want a simple, solid stand for home or studio practice, this is a perfect 5-star product.
