Hard to get the drawer open

I am improving many aspects of our living room and wanted a stylish place to keep our media device remotes and the keyboard we use to drive the PC which forms the backbone of the AV system. This floating drawer fit the bill and the pale "oak" is a close enough match to the maple cabinets on the other side of the room. [ This tonal "match" would NOT be so "good" if they were side by side, however. ] The black portion of the unit also matches the frame of artwork (a woodcut print) hung just above it. The drawer is incredibly simple and elegant, but suffers from a number of near-inexcusable issues at this very high price point. First, the magnet at the back which helps "pull" the drawer into proper alignment for good (and secure) closure should be MUCH more powerful such as a neodymium magnet The drawer should also have the ability to subdivide (in a custom way!) INCLUDED at this price. I'm an experienced woodworker, so I will cobble something together, but for an almost $90 small drawer to not have this seems inexcusable. Most people will keep keys in this, and without subdivision I can imagine family members fumbling with a tangled mess of "competing" key chains. The drawer should also really have a (sound deadening!) liner. Finally, the finger pull cutout should both be a bit higher and wider. Many people complain about how "difficult" this is to open. I don't have a problem with that, but a slightly larger opening would certainly improve the ergonomics. With this piece, you are paying almost entirely for "style" and not particularly for function. Hopefully the manufacturer will make improvements in an updated version to better balance the two aspects.

This is a great little shelf size for hanging by a door for keys and such. It looks great but the only thing I don't like is there is no "stop" to keep the drawer from falling out if you aren't paying attention.

I am on the fence with how I feel about this little drawer. When I say little, I mean little! the description is accurate, so I wouldn't deduct for that. But this is really, really tiny. The measurements very carefully before you order. Now, the design is modern and works well with my mid-century modern esthetic. the quality does seem top notch, even though there isn't a stop point when you pull out the drawer. I just don't know how useful this will be for me because it is so, so tiny. But again, if tiny is what you need, then this is perfect! I'm not quite sure of the level of value to this because of the small scale.

Should have gotten a measuring tape on this one. Won't work for what I was thinking of using it for, so decided to use it on my desk for pencils and pens. It is well made though the drawer just slides whatever direction, there is no rails or stops to keep it in or in place. There is magnetic back that is suppose to help with this, but once you start to pull the drawer out it does nothing. I think that the price is pretty high given the size and that it's not even all solid wood. It does look nice and the surfaces are smooth and nicely put together. But with the drawer and the price I'm only giving this one 3 stars.
