Would not use on table top as water based and never dries Hard enough. Best to use a wood stain then lacquer.

Yes. I used this quick dry woodstain to refresh all my oak kitchen units. Make sure all surfaces are clean and smoothe. I did 2 coats in one day and the finish did not require a varnish to seal. Easy to keep clean afterwards. Very pleased with the results. Good luck.
