Q: Would this chair be good for painting a chair?

I used a chair to paint a chair one time, it didn't come out well. I had to paint it with a matching table and it worked great.

Q: Has anyone used this on auto carpet?

I just painted some of the carpet on the doors and cargo area of my Suburban. I tested a spot of the velour in the back of the Suburban. The carpet took the paint well, though feels much rougher than previously. However, it looks much better than it did before with the stains and fades. the velour does not take the color well and it ends up turning really crusty. I'm glad I didn't apply it to the doors' velour panels. I would prefer them to be soft. I would also recommend several light coats; if you apply it too heavy it will crust up on the carpet. I don't think I would use it on foot traffic carpet, just verticle surface carpets.

Q: Is this water resistant?

Yes, it seems completely water proof, I used it on some vinyl tubing that was continually immersed in water for several weeks and that didn't seem to affect it at all.
