the perfect headphones, period.
i RARELY write reviews, but these headphones deserve all the praise in the world. i've tried headphones from some of the biggest brands, and ones that ranged from $100 to $60 to $40, and they have all broken after only a few months of use. but i've had my panasonic headphones now for almost a year, and it has been an amazing experience since day one. i listen to music everyday- walking to class, working in my woodshop, at home, when i travel, etc. seeing as i've tried about a dozen different brands of headphones, i have experienced a wide range of sound quality, comfort, and durability. personally, the fit of the earbuds themselves is perfect. it blocks outside ambient noise incredibly well, but still allows JUST enough noise in, which i appreciate because i like being aware of my surroundings when necessary. but the noise dampening of the earbuds is amazing overall. that leads to the sound itself. the delivery of sound- whether it be music or movies, tv or youtube- is rich and detailed. the noise dampening, plus the speakers themselves, allows for a listening experience that is better than every brand i've ever tried. hands down. all of the components of these headphones, from the fit to the sound, has given me a listening experience that i have cherished so much over the past year. it was always a huge disappointment when headphones that i had spent so much money on would begin to deteriorate over time, or break suddenly. but with these headphones, i have not experienced a single issue with anything- no loss in sound in either speaker, no fraying/disconnecting cables, no broken 3.5mm jack- nothing. this is probably the best $15 i've ever spent, and if i can influence just one person to invest in a great product like this, instead of another name brand that'll just lead them to wasting their money, then i'll know i did something good. happy listening everyone!

great, if you get the "real" ones
UPDATE: The replacement pair I received had none of the problems I had described below. That replacement pair worked well until this month (February 2021), when the left earbud stopped working. I just ordered another pair, and it is again working well, not suffering from any of the problems I had described below. So, I am giving these a five-star rating, but I do note, along with many other reviewers, that Amazon and/or Panasonic seem to have trouble differentiating the "real" pairs of these earbuds from the apparently fake knock-offs. I think the "real" pairs deserve a five-star rating because 1. the audio quality is very good, 2. the build quality is fairly good (each pair has lasted about a year for me, with nearly daily use), 3. the microphone works fairy well, and 4. the price is unbeatable. These were previously The Wirecutter's topic pick for wired earbuds. They now say "this pair simply lacks the detail and the deep low notes that the JBL Live 100 achieves" (https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-headphones-under-40/#other-under-50-earbuds-we-like-panel). The JBL Live 100, however, cost about four times more. And, speaking as someone who does care about audio quality but isn't an audio professional, these earbuds sound great to me in terms of detail and low notes. * * * PREVIOUS REVIEW: I have purchased these earbuds four times. The first three times (February 2017, October 2017, November 2018), they were of consistent quality. This fourth time (September 2019), however, I noticed four problems: 1. The left and right audio channels are reversed, which is obviously unacceptable and the primary reason for my one-star review. 2. The audio quality is worse. One of the earbuds of my previous pair still works, allowing me to compare them directly. The new pair had much less bass and sounded tinny. 3. The microphone and control button are now on the left side, which is unusual. (I wonder whether this is related to the left and right channels being reversed.) 4. The control button was much stiffer and difficult to press. I have requested a replacement pair and will update this review once I test it. The following are other reviews, of verified purchases, mentioning the same problems. You Get More Than You Pay For
Everyone has heard the saying "You get what you pay for"... But there are those rare moments where you purchase something that is low cost and you get more than you would expect. I would say the Panasonic Ego-Fit (RP-TCM125-K) Earbuds fit that bill! I have owned various earbuds from known to not so well known brands from low costing to high cost buds. The things I look for in earbuds 1. Sound 2. Comfort 3. Durability... The sound from these earbuds are very good exceeding that of earbuds that are $50 price range. 1. Sound: the sound is balanced. I like the fact that the bass isn't overpowering is a good thing. The mids and highs are good but not great as you would hear on higher end earbuds. Also, I love the fact that my ears don't feel fatigued when listening for long periods of time. For cell phone calls calls were clear. I also asked callers how I sounded on their end and they said my voice was clear as well. 2. As for comfort: These are one of the most comfortable earbuds I have worn. They are light and have a snug fit (different size pads s/m/l). I really hate it when I wear earbuds that are too have or having that irritating feeling that something is stuck rubbing in your ear, or some foreign object that doesn't belong there. Arghhhhh. I've never had an issue of these popping out or my ear or that feeling that it will. I am wearing them now as I write this... Listening to SADE. 3. Build/Durability: This isn't it's strong point: The casing/enclosure is plastic which is a benefit for it's weight and comfort. The wiring is thin but the good thing is that they are well shielded. There is no interference or static when rubbing on clothing or hard surfaces. I have gone through a couple of these lasting from 6 months to over a year. There are times I can be abusive to my buds. But if you don't go around beating them they should last you for a while. I would highly recommend the Panasonic ErgoFit as an overall great deal when it comes to getting something that you get more than you pay for!

Very comfortable...great sound for the price
I recently lost my earbuds while traveling and where looking for replacements. I had been using a pair of JVC HAFX66 which I absolutely loved as well as my Apple earbuds which were only used for phone calls. So the search began looking for a set of earbuds that hopefully could solve my previous use of two different sets of earbuds to handle music while working out as well as being able to use it for phone calls. I am cheap when it comes to earbuds since I tend to lose or destroy them on a somewhat regular basis, so I try to spend under $30. I have a similar rule for sunglasses for the same reason. To note, my preference is for bass heavy sound. I listen to just about anything from rap, country, rock, classical, and anything else in between. It doesn't matter, I like bass. I was able to compare directly side-by-side the older M6P, M6, M7P, and the RP-TCM125. **MEE M6P I have had these since 2010, but had never used the MIC on them. I just used them at work and at the gym for music for many years. These were very bass heavy which I liked, but not quite as bright in the mids and highs. For the price, these could not be beat at the time. I am pretty sure I paid under $15 for these. +comfortable +decent sound quality +bass heavy +stayed put in my ears +included carrying case -tips came off easier than I would have liked (I have newer M6 that seem to not have this issue) -cable failure in one pair (many years of use and abuse) -MIC voice quality (far end stated I sounded muffled) -MIC issues on iPhone6 (lots of popping, clicking...remember this is a 6 year old set) **JVC HAFX66 I had owned the JVC HAFX66 since around 2011 and had gone through 2-3 pairs due to either losing them or getting them run through the washer/dryer accidentally. It appears they are no longer available as well as I would like something with a MIC on it. +very comfortable (used them for background music on a 12hr flight) +sound quality was more balanced the the M6P (strong bass, but mids/highs were smoother) -no MIC **JVC HAETR40 Extreme Sports Pivot Motion Fit These were my first replacements to try since I could pick them up at a local store. In the end, I ended up returning them mostly due to the lack of bass. If these had been cheaper, I probably would have kept them as backup since they were quite functional and comfortable. +fit good +very clear sound quality +MIC worked, no complaints from the far end about my voice quality +short cord +included cord extension -short cord (was almost too short, but then too long with the extension) -lack of bass....serious lack of bass The lack of bass is what ultimately doomed these for me. The bass was lacking so much, it was like they weren't seated properly within my ear...yet they were. I really wanted to like these. **Panasonic RP-TCM125 These were ordered based upon reviews I found for best bang for your buck. These were just to be music earbuds since they don't have a MIC. I have not used these yet while exercising so unknown how well they will stay put. For sure, these are the most balanced sounding out of all of the earbuds I have so far. These overall seem to me to have the best all around sound. +comfortable fit +sound quality is wonderful (voices are warmer, bass is still strong) -cable seems to be pretty cheap, weak (reminds me of the cheapo dollar store ones) **MEE M7P I was still looking for a proper earbud with MIC that can do it all. The price was right and my history with MEE was good so why not. +fit good +good sound quality (bass not as strong as M6) +stay in place while running +comes with carrying case +MIC worked, no complaints from far end about my voice quality (while sitting still) -MIC was popping or dropping out when I was up and moving around (I have a support ticket open on this) **MEE M6 I went ahead and also purchased a set of M6 since I pretty knew I would like these. +fit good +stay in place no matter the activity +sound quality decent (strong bass, but mids and highs aren't as powerful) +comes with carrying case -no MIC So all of this....which pair do I use the most? The M7P will end up in my laptop bag for sure for travel purposes...but more than likely I will end up using the M6 the most since I know it stays put while running.

Broke after 6 months
Used them daily for remote working and regularly for gaming. They were OK average normal audio quality. Did the job for 6 month until it broke. They never leaved the desk, never entered a pocket or any other tight space. So, anyone moving them around for travel or on the go use, might broke them earlier. Cheap enough to be replaced, anyway i’m trying from a different manufacturer next time.

Comfortable and Reliable Everyday Earbuds
I recently picked up the Panasonic ErgoFit Wired Earbuds, and they’ve quickly become my go-to for daily use. These in-ear headphones offer a great combination of comfort, sound quality, and functionality, making them a solid choice for anyone in need of reliable earbuds. Comfortable Fit: The ErgoFit design lives up to its name. These earbuds are incredibly comfortable to wear, even for extended periods. They come with three different sizes of ear tips, so it’s easy to find the perfect fit. The snug fit also helps with noise isolation, keeping unwanted background noise to a minimum. Good Sound Quality: For the price, the sound quality is impressive. The audio is clear and balanced, with decent bass and crisp highs. Whether I’m listening to music, podcasts, or making calls, the sound is consistent and enjoyable. Built-in Microphone and Call Controller: The built-in microphone and call controller are very convenient, especially when I’m on the go. The microphone picks up my voice clearly during calls, and the call controller allows me to answer/end calls and play/pause music without needing to reach for my phone. Durable and Tangle-Free: The build quality of these earbuds is solid. The cord is durable and resists tangling, which is a big plus for me since I tend to toss them in my bag. They’ve held up well so far, even with daily use. Affordable Price: One of the best things about these earbuds is their affordability. They deliver great value for the price, offering comfort, sound quality, and functionality without breaking the bank. Overall Experience: Overall, the Panasonic ErgoFit Wired Earbuds are an excellent choice for anyone looking for comfortable, reliable, and affordable in-ear headphones. They’re perfect for everyday use, whether you’re commuting, working out, or just relaxing at home. I highly recommend these earbuds to anyone in need of a budget-friendly, high-quality option.

Good earbuds
Good sound quality--I use them for phone calls, meetings, on flightd etc. They are ideally sized and soft. And importantly, the earbuds weren't expensive--I don't spend a lot on headphones and think the quality of these aligns with the price. I've had them for months and use them often; I'd buy them again, if needed.

Considering the price, they do an alright job.
I know a thing or two about audio equipment, and I've now owned a quite extensive list of earbuds and headphones. While these are unlikely to win any "best ___" award in my book, I would in no way call them bad. For around $15, they are a fairly good value. Feel/Quality Right out of the box, they feel very light, flimsy, thin, almost like the cord could (and almost definitely will with prolonged use) go out at any time. But you'll be hard pressed to find anything much better in this price range. Comfort They feel pretty decent actually. They sit pretty low profile in your ears, which is good, as the could quite comfortably be used while sleeping, even with your head sideways on a pillow. The ear cushions seem on the small side, as usually I have to go down a size to find what fits, however I found myself using the large cushions for these. No problem with that though, extra cushions are easy to come by. They do not cause much irritation while sitting in your ears, they do indeed fit ergonomically in your ears. Good marks here. Sound Quality Arguably the most important department, and unfortunately where these seem to fall down most. Perhaps I have gotten way too accustomed to my over ear, $200-range headphones of which I've owned several pairs before, and that makes me feel that these have poor sound quality. The bass is actually quite excellent for the price, well balanced and not overly boomy or muddy. The mids are quite clear as well, vocals are clear and do not even seem to distort much when presented with complex dissonance and high volumes, an extremely common problem with lower priced audio exquipment. The highs seem quite weak, even fragile. Definitley the worst area of these earbuds. You'll notice discomfort at how shrill cymbal crashes will sound at higher volumes. It greatly reduces the pleasurability of listening, distracting from the music itself. Sadly it really is that bad. While I do think some of this can be overcome with an EQ adjustment, you shouldn't have to do that for earbuds to sound tolerable. I was dissapointed in this category. However, if you listen to bass and mid heavy music, you will notice little to no flaws in the sound signature at all, which is very impressive. Tldr; great value earbuds. EQ adjustment necessary to compensate for lack of capacity for high frequency clarity. Other than that, very good sound. Very nice comfort. Satisfactory build quality. Very cheap. Buy these earbuds if you need a travel pair, something to sleep with, or are on a budget. Better sound quality can definitely be found around this price mark, but again, by no means would I call them "bad" at what they do. Can't really go wrong with getting them. Ps. If you are deciding between these and a comparable pair of Skullcandys, do youself and everyone else a favor and get these. Unless you're a dubstep loving bass junkie and really don't care how real music sounds, these are by far a superior option.

Very good for price
I purchased this because I had previously purchased this earphone. Although now I normally use better earphones from Sennheiser, the particular model was not available at that time (ES18). This was definitely a downgrade but it is only till I get my ES18. The sound quality s is definitely better than the cheaper Sennheiser models (I have compared it with my friends) The biggest con that I felt was actually in the wire quality. The ES18 would never tangle itself but this one somehow automatically tangles itself no matter what I do

The only headphones you truly need...
So here's the thing: in recent years I've spent way, way more than I care to admit on headphones. I have been trying desperately to find the perfect sound. Still haven't found it, but, I've come to realize one very simple fact: convenience, comfort, and fit are more important than absolute audio quality. These buds nail that mix. They produce about 85% the sound quality as the best audio I've heard, and fit exactly right for my ears like truly nothing else on the market. My previous go-tos were a pair of pricey earbuds with memory foam tips, and also "audiophile" Yuin PK1s that look like circa 1990 Gameboy earbuds. And yet... the memory foam buds were also too bulky for the foam to make a difference to fit... the PK1s are phenomenal when they are seated JUST SO in your ear, but don't you dare move your head, and anything approaching workout use is laughable. High end open backed over-ear 600ohm requires-an-amp cans may sound great, but are completely impractical for day to day use and travel scenarios (unless you're "that guy/gal" - and please don't be). So here's what I propose: forget the high end stuff and buy several pairs of these Panasonics. Throw one into your laptop/book bag, your purse/murse, your desk drawer... use and abuse them day in, day out. When they break, buy them again. They're cheap, and they work great. -------- Other stuff: - Good bass, curtailed highs... far from reference, but well suited to the modern pop musics the kids listen to these days - Don't need a mic? You can save a few bucks and buy the HJE-120s instead - Short-ish chord is great for mobile use, but when seated at a desk don't forget they're in your ears if you try to stand up (ouch) - There's an audiophile term for when you can hear the wire moving and jostling about through the earbud. Can't remember what it is, but it applies to these - Very, very, very good fit. Leads to good bass, good sound isolation, and you simply forget they're there and focus on the music instead - Inline mic works! Surprisingly good quality in quiet environments, but clearly omnidirectional and prone to picking up ambient noise
