The trap is already set. #1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden knocks at your door with a gripping story of revenge, privilege, and secrets turned sourโฆ Review: Love the plot twists - This book is extremely hard to put down. The reader can never predict what happens and it is not revealed until very end. The author is the queen of suspense. Her description of the action, circumstances, and characters is amazing. I highly recommend this book. Review: Predictable at Times but Very Entertaining - Very entertaining, fast-paced, and honestly no fillers. This is one of those books you can fly through because the short chapters and constant tension keep you hooked the whole time. I also listened to the audiobook, and it elevated the experience even more. The narrators are magnificent, especially the male narrator, whose performance truly stood out. Their expressive delivery and emotional depth brought the plot to life, adding intensity, nuance, and suspense to every scene. It was an immersive listening experience that made this already entertaining story even more compelling. There are definitely some unrealistic parts, and I caught myself thinking โokayโฆ this would never happenโ more than once. But the dark humor and slightly sarcastic tone actually make those moments easier to enjoy instead of ruining the story. I also found parts of the plot a little predictable, especially if youโve read other books by this author. Still, even when I saw things coming, I was entertained the entire time. Itโs one of those โjust one more chapterโ reads that turns into finishing half the book in one sitting. What I really liked is how the story takes such an ordinary situation and slowly turns it into something tense and unsettling. The writing style is simple and very easy to follow, which makes it super accessible and bingeable, even if itโs not the most complex thriller out there. Overall, itโs not perfect and wonโt blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what you expect: a dark, twisty, addictive read. Think of it as pure thriller entertainment with a playful sense of karma and revenge. If you enjoyed the authorโs recent novel Dear Debbie, you will definitely enjoy this read.

EXACTLY like a Lifetime movie script......
3.5 stars...Okay.. go into this book with the mindset that it is EXCATLY like a Lifetime movie. Krista and Blake live in a brownstone in Manhattan. Blake looses his job as VP. Krista works at a dry cleaners; so they take in a "tenant" to help out. Of course crazy things start happening to Blake once they do. This book would be great for a poolside read. You don't have to think much because it is all very predictable. No character development, spotty plotline....again, just like a lifetime movie, but it is an easy read and it was entertaining to me. Ugh....all the characters do in this book are "giggle and hiss" She uses those words over and over again! I probably won't remember this book for long so no need for me to write a synopsis....but like I said, decent enough book to keep me interested

Very good very intriguing great twist at the end Was not the biggest fan of Blake. Seemed a little too fragile for me. Good read!

OUTSTANDING READ
OUTSTANDING!!!! Freida McFadden, you have turned ME into a reader!!! I sware, no joke. If my mom was still with us, she would never have believed it!! I read this one in 2+ days. I can't wait to start "The Teacher". Housemaid's series was equally as outstanding. That is where I started reading her books. I asked for the 3 Housemaid's for Christmas after a coworker and a patient of mine said how they couldn't put it down. I read the first 2, bought "The Wedding". Then finished that series {Oh, and definitely read "The Wedding" 3rd before the last Housemaid's}! I bought "The Tenant" and "The Teacher" the next day! I can't wait to add more to my collection. Freida, I'm telling EVERYONE about your books. I have pasted the ones I've read to one friend and one family member so far. And I have a waiting list! :} Thanks Freida, for sharing your amazing talent!!

????
This was a very good book but a lot of unnecessary paragraphs of conversations to explain what you were reading or have already read. Excellent plot and story line. Ending was a great surprise

Another winner for Ms. McFadden!
The Tenant reminded me why I always reach for Freida McFadden when I want a thriller that grabs me from the first page and refuses to let go. Iโve never read a book of hers that I didnโt love, and this one was no exception. I spent the entire day with it, from morning into early evening, because I simply could not put it down. I kept thinking I knew exactly who was behind all the bad things happening, only to find out I was completely wrong. Thatโs one of the things I adore about McFaddenโs writing. She always slips in an unseen twist here and there, and then she hits you right at the end, I never see it coming. She did it again with โThe Tenantโ. My only small regret is that I wish she had tied everything together with a bigger bow instead of leaving it with more of a loose knot. She had plenty of material to work with, and I can easily imagine how she could turn this story into a sequel. Honestly, I wouldnโt be surprised if she already has one in the works and thatโs why she held back from tying things up too tightly. Either way, this was a fast, addictive, twisty read that reminded me why sheโs one of my favorite authors. Next up for me is Dear Debbie, and I canโt wait to dive in.

Excitement pure!
Another exciting story. Easy to read. The twist at the end was a little predictable but nevertheless formidable. Enjoyed the whole ride!

Damaged back cover
The back cover was damaged and some pages inside were not bound properly. I won't be sending it back though. Just an FYI.

Engaging read
The book was in a great condition upon receipt. A bit predictable but I've already read nearly all of Freida's books so maybe that's on me.
