Much easier to use than a non electric hand operated can opener.
The Good:It's still alive 1.7.24. I now consider it a winner as I hate opening cans with a non electric can opener as they bend quickly and go into a slow skipping mode for months with partially opening cans. The electric can opener is still working great/fast/without skipping. The Bad:It takes more effort to make sure the can lip is under the piercing device before it works correctly. If not under the piercing part, it will circle but it is now dragging the spade through the field (can) thus it is not opening... Thus lift the piercing device and correctly position the can & try again to pierce it and then hopefully the piercing device is in the lid while it rotates it all the way around and finally the magnet lifts it when the circle cut is complete.Young children and those with I.Q. less than 70 or more blind than I will probably prefer the old hand held models... But if able to think & look at piercing device placement, you will love it over the non electric versions.

The cord is ridiculous!
Works great but the cord is SOOOOOO short!!I like it, but it needs to be right up against the wall/outlet. Could’ve used an extra 2” (that’s what she said!)!Not the most convenient. But it does open cans smoothly.

You don’t have to fight with this can opener
**Product Review: Black & Decker Tall Electric Can Opener**I recently invested in the Black & Decker tall electric can opener, and it has truly made a difference in my kitchen routine. This handy appliance combines convenience with efficiency, making it a must-have for anyone who frequently uses canned goods.**Pros:**1. **Ease of Use:** The electric operation is incredibly simple. Just place the can on the base, align it, and press the lever. It effortlessly opens cans with minimal effort, which is especially great for those with limited hand strength.2. **Tall Design:** The taller design accommodates larger cans, which many standard can openers struggle with. This feature is a significant plus for anyone who often cooks with larger canned ingredients.3. **Safety Features:** The built-in safety mechanism ensures that the blade never comes into direct contact with your hands, reducing the risk of cuts or injuries. The can opener also automatically stops when the can is open.4. **Compact Storage:** Despite its tall design, it doesn’t take up too much counter space and can be easily stored in a cabinet when not in use.5. **Durable Construction:** Made from high-quality materials, this can opener feels sturdy and reliable, promising longevity in the kitchen.Overall, the Black & Decker tall electric can opener is an excellent addition to any kitchen. Its ease of use, safety features, and ability to handle larger cans make it a valuable tool for home cooks. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to simplify their can-opening experience!

Will drop your can like a hot potato!!!
This is the worst can opener IN THE WORLD!!! I have never had a can opener that you had to stand there and hold the can. I have always started it and just grabbed the opened can from it when I was ready for it, doing something else while it’s opening. I keep forgetting you have to hold them with this stupid thing and now my ceramic cooktop stove is potentially ruined (starting on fire under one of the burner knobs) because a can of green beans fell with full force and the whole can dumped over all of the burners while I was cooking and liquid got down into the ignition element or something. I’m so mad. I don’t use it very often because I rarely cook canned food so I forget how much it sucks, but I’m so mad right now that I’m writing this scathing review! Oh it works. It opens the cans like a charm, but you MUST hold the can because it just drops it and it’s kind of tall so it makes a huge mess. Uuuuggggghhhh!
