From super bummed to super amazed - s0n0s tip
When I got this sub (I got the 8" passive sub with 2 speakers outputs), I hooked it into my existing speakers as instructed. I was excited to hook it up to the "160 watt" amp I got from fosi. This was a temporary amp until I finally got my Sonos amp.... anyway. I was initially very bummed about the performance of this sub, when using the fosi amp, and even when using the Sonos amp. Could barely hear the sub. I then got a big planter and buried the sub with sand & gravel etc. The difference this made was negligible. So then I upgraded the old speakers that came with this house, to the Sonance outdoor patio speakers (comes with amp from another retailer). I figured maybe this would impact the ultimate resistance and give more power to the sub. Even then, it sounded better, but just really not that great. I was trying to research getting a separate sub amp just for this thing. I tried jacking up the bass in the Sonos EQ, which worked, but that felt unnatural/temporary to me. If you have a solid amp with subwoofer controls etc- you probably know what you are doing, and this sub will perform as an 8" passive sub is expected to. For anyone using FOSI non-sub amp.... I speak for myself, but it was just nowhere near enough. If you have SONOS amp, and Sonos architectural speakers (includes sonance outdoor speakers) or are considering getting this combo, let me give my experience: now that I have figured it out, the sound is extremely good for an outdoor setup with this sub. KEY TIP: IN THE SONOS APP, Click "recognize Sonos architectural speakers" .... make sure you are on same wifi as your amp. For whatever reason, this flips the Sonos switch from sounding "eh" to "omg this sounds friggin awesome." I wired the sub in parallel with the speakers rather than hooking the speakers up to the sub amp - I wanted the sonance speakers to be able to distribute some low-end to the patio, while having the sub do the heavy lifting when necessary. Net, I could NOT be more pleased with this set up. It is so awesome, I am sitting outside in the 100 degree heat just to listen. Again, my combo is Sonos Amp, 2 Sonance Outdoor (aka mariner) speakers, wired in parallel with this sub. Architectural speaker mode activated in the app. Anyone complaining about this sub's lack of power- do your research. Subwoofers are fairly "dumb" ... you just need to feed them enough power. Even if it doesn't last beyond 3-5 years (tbd but seems pretty solidly constructed).... we're talking about a very affordably priced subwoofer. Sure you could spend a ton more on another sub and let your money sit out in the rain. but this does everything I need and more. (roughly 400 sq ft patio).

Excellent Direct-Burrial Outdoor Subwoofer! Adds the missing Bassline to the outdoor experience!
This is by far the best outdoor subwoofer that is sold. The unit is easily burred and is sealed tight to keep water and moisture out of the unit. The subwoofer takes a stereo feed from the amplifier and gives you two satellite speaker outputs from a crossover. I opted not to use the satellite speaker outputs because the crossover frequency range is not adjustable and the speakers I was using had plenty of ability to also carry lower end of the frequency spectrum. The best solution for me was to run amplified signal to the subwoofer and separately run amplified signal direct to the satellite speakers. When the two outdoor satellite speakers were combined with the subwoofer, the experience is outstanding and sounds phenomenal. I am extremely satisfied with this subwoofer.

Worked great!
This speaker filled the low frequency void in my 70V outdoor audio system. I coupled it with a 60W audio transformer (purchased separately) and it worked perfectly! It accepts both a Left & Right input, and trying to find out from TIC support as to whether I should choose the Left only, Right Only or both for my mono input was difficult as the telephone support wasn't working - so it had to happen via email. Oh, and you use either Left or Right only (as opposed to both in parallel @ 4 ohms or series @ 16 ohms). Like others, I had to open the top and move a wire that was shaking against the speaker - after that it was good. I took off 1 star for that, otherwise 5 stars!

Wonderful Sound and Look
We bought these so we would have speakers like the ones at Disneyworld. Sound good, easy to install, and look good! They can blend into landscape if you want, but they also look good visible as well. Sound is good in 360!

Buried in a barrel flower pot
I purchased this subwoofer to complete our backyard patio audio system. We already had a pair of wall-hung full-range outdoor speakers and a pair of full-range in-ground speakers buried in ground, all driven by a single stereo amp. I had been long wishing to add a subwoofer and drive each speaker with a separate amp. I added a 2.1 amp https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4D4V2FG to drive the 3 in-ground speakers and left the existing amp to drive the wall-hung speakers. My mission was accomplished perfectly; the 4 full-range speaker deliver much clearer sound and the new subwoofer adds solid base sound all creating a perfect sound field. I do not have too loud sound not to bother our neighbors, but I believe my choice and configuration was perfect.

Very good sub for the money. Would love to buy more if the wife let me.
I had originally planned out backyard sound system around a fairly high end sub/amp combo system offered by a higher end speaker company. After fooling with it for several months, I just didn't like the sound it put out. Figured I would buy two of these, hook them up to a decent amp and see what happened. What happened was a better low end coverage around my backyard. We have a pretty good amount of space to cover, so I placed each sub at either end of the backyard. They coverage is good. The only downside to these speakers is they cannot achieve a high volume without distorting. While I am slightly disappointed, the level they distort at is too loud for any conversation to take place. When we have people over, I would't go anywhere near that volume. But while barbecuing, I sometimes like to crank it to 11. If I adjust the bass down a little bit, I can still do this. I have the pair of these hooked up to a Dayton SA1000 Sub amp. It is a bit overkill for these, but there are not many options for somewhat inexpensive subwoofer amplifiers. I have these 2 hooked up to a 6 speaker system consisting of 6 Niles 8" rock speakers. The 2 subs keep up with the 6 mid range speakers just fine. I buried them within about 2 inches of the speaker grill. It is a pretty large hole, but it looks good. When compared to most backyard sounds solutions, these are an investment well worth it.

I had Klipsch AW-650 and was utterly underwhelmed with their bass. So much I was considering returning it. As my amplifier (Fosi Audio BT30D PRO) has an amplifier dedicated to a subwoofer, i decided to try out the TIC GS 50 and immediately was blown away. Don't get me wrong, i am not an audiophile, but i do like full sound, and GS 50 was exactly what i was missing. Highly recommended!

My pool area outdoor audio system with Yamaha NS-AW592 speakers lacked some low bass. Connected this subwoofer through a 150W subwoofer amp with an adjustable high pass filter. Tuned in to just enhance the low bass it improves the sound a great deal. Being a quite cheap outdoor sobwoofer, it actually surpassed my expectations. I am a bit picky when it comes to audio quality and I really think this is ok for an outdoor system.

I am very happy so far with my purchase. The sub is paired with Voyager 60 Boston Acoustic outdoor speakers and it fills out the bottom end very well. No thumpy distorted bass, you know its there but you don't notice it if you know what I mean. They are all powered by my 21 year old Harmon Kardon AVR 30. I buried it in the garden as the instructions show, I am pleased and would definitely recommend it! As a side note I converted my HK receiver into a Blue Tooth receiver using the Focale Wireless Receiver -aptX, works fantastic with my Samsung phone and my BB PlayBook. Grab one of those while your at it, you won't be displeased. Happy listening.
