Adding this edger to my Ego collection has been a great move. Since I already have several batteries from other tools, I opted for the tool only version. One of the best things about this ecosystem is that any of the batteries work with any tool, which saved me some money here. I use this with the multi head system, and it is very easy to swap it out for my hedge trimmer or pole saw. Performance: I am a novice at lawn maintenance, but this tool made quick work of edges that hadn't been touched in over six months. It's powerful enough to rip through lots of excess grass and is quite sensitive to the throttle with how strong it spins. Because I had skipped an entire season of edging, the first pass was quite laborious and a bit of a workout. It does get heavy over time and will tax your body more than pushing a lawn mower would, but it is definitely doable. The second time I used it was much easier and faster without all that excess grass in the way. Functionality: the edger seems to only work in one direction with the blade on the right side. I didn't see a way to switch it to the left, so I just walk it down the line and then back up. It leaves the lawn looking very clean and crisp. It has already paid for itself now that I don't have to pay contractors to do it for me. I also like the edger blade is metal and doesn't have to be replaced by a line feed.

I've only used a gas weed eater that uses those goofy plastic fingers. It finally gave up the ghost last fall, and we just moved into a poorly maintained 6 acre property, so I ordered this with a pole saw attachment as well. I was pretty happy with it immediately. String cuts well, feeds easy, good power. Then I remembered the two speed option. High speed zips through grass and weeds like a monster. Then I finally ran out of string that it came with, and finally got to try out the well-regarded Max Power Twisted line. HOLY MOLY this thing is a monster. EGO should start selling these with that Twisted line, because I'm telling you that brought an already good product up to another level. It really cuts great, throws trimmings away well, and the 5.0 battery lasts longer than I can stand to run it, which is just how it should be. I'm very happy with it so far.

The accompanying shoulder strap is a huge plus. It is a little heavy. When adjusted properly it supports the edger very well. The edger does a very nice clean job and is much faster and easier to use than a string trimmer when it comes to edging the drive and walk. The adjustable wheel works as it should, it doesn't need to be set to cut very deep below the edge of the walk. As the blade wears you can easily adjust the wheel to the correct depth of cut. No issues with battery life no matter how small of an Ego battery you use. Quality construction from durable materials. Well worth the money.

This is pretty nice. I’ve used a few varieties of edgers in my time, and I like the convenience of a cord free electric solution. Pros: easy to start, very little maintenance, powerful Cons: it’s a little heavy so you’ll want to use the included shoulder strap, like many edgers these days the blade is just a chunk of 1/8” metal. It doesn’t have a sharp (or even dull) edge. So I didn’t get a clean finished edge on the grass. Im guessing it will naturally sharpen a bit as I use this only along the driveway but it’s not as nice as I had hoped. I bought into the Ego ecosystem so it was the only choice for me and I’m happy overall.

This EGO trimmer and edger combo is a great purchase. It has plenty of power, is easy to handle, and makes yard work much quicker. I love that it’s battery-powered, so there’s no dealing with gas, fumes, or pulling a cord over and over. The trimmer works well around the yard, and the edger gives the lawn a clean, finished look. It’s convenient, reliable, and perfect for keeping the yard maintained without all the extra hassle. I would definitely recommend it.

So far works well. Plenty of power and no gas to buy. Unlike gas edger no ear protection required. The carbon makes the unit very light compared to the gas model I have. EGO is more expensive than some other brands but I’ve been using them for over 2 years with no issues.

Vast improvement over my black and decker 20v setup. The tools have a professional feel to them. The spool for the trimmer seems like it will last a long time between having to switch it out, and the edger is wonderful and fast to use. So far haven't had an issue with how heavy they are. Would definitely buy again as it saves me time on yard work.

Not much I can really say here, the units work flawlessly, although I do wish it did not weight as much as it did though, they are quite heavy with the battery installed. You need to use the shoulder straps they come with or at least mine did. Overall I would say 5 stars for functionality and ability to switch out the heads. but I would give it 4 stars for weight and comfort. Overall 4 star

Another amazing product from Ego. So much power! It does an incredible job.

Be aware that this new model have a much smaller guard. Used it two times and got scrap all over my pants, shirt and even on my face. EGO will need to address this ASAP.
