Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 2

Probably my favorite, and the best, of the ultimania volumes. It’s nowhere near the level of The Sky, especially the more recent release, but if you could get just one of these FF art books, this is a great one for the price.

Love this so much, but I have to agree, for people like myself whose favorite is VIII, we’re not getting as much content as the other two games in this book. FF8 only features 69 (nice) pages as opposed to FF7 with 113 pages and FF9’s whopping 125 pages. I genuinely feel VIII is very underrated and it’s vindicated by this fact, but either way, I still adore this book. The content has some REALLY gorgeous art, interesting looks into storyboarding and initial drawings, and the binding and cover are definitely a nice quality. I really would recommend this for Final Fantasy fans and am planning to get the other two volumes. (I just wanted the one with my favorite installment first)

Plenty of knowledge about described Final Fantasy titles. There are multiple versions of the Final Fantasy Ultimanias. The quality of the book is very sturdy, vibrant, and paper used is pleasing to the touch. Over all I enjoyed these and have them displayed.

Tons of great art,character concepts, unused content and more! Even has the original design documents from back when FF7 was planned to be an n64 game! Sadly as expected, ff7 has way more extensive content than the other titles, FF9 actually has the most pages, but it covers less topics. FF8 comes in last with only about 60% of the length of the ff7 section. But regardless of your favorite PS1 you're sure to find lots of great content and beautiful artwork! This book is well worth the price, even at MSRP! (now if only amazon could not dent up EVERY hard cover book I order... this is the 3rd time..)

If you love Amano's art this is a great way to access it. Although some of the art is small, lots of it is good sized. There are lots of facts about the game's development and even things like concept maps for areas. If you love final fantasy games you will like this publication!

So, I got the first volume at a convention and I really enjoyed the details and the art that it contained. It was only natural that I would get Vol 2 (and eventually will get Vol 3). Vol 2 only contains 3 games from the PS1 era. So, logically I thought there would be more room for art and other information. Well...i was kinda right. Overall, this is a great book for the Final Fantasy Enthusiast. The info and art contained is great. Its colorful, it contains things that I dont really even recall from the games (I didn't know that Tifa's dad has a design that is very similar to Locke Cole from FFVI). My only complaint about it is that the section for FFVIII is rather lacking. In past sections (both in Vol 2 and Vol 1), it shows some of the characters in alternative outfits and even gives some of the art from it from when they were doing planning. The FFVIII section doesn't really have as much, so its a bit disappointing. The sections for FFVII and FFIX are very detailed though so its just a minor complaint. I still recommend this book, but just be prepared to be a bit disappointed if you are a FFVIII fan.

Imo, these are the 3 MUST OWN titles in the entire Final Fantasy franchise. I'm surprised these books aren't more popular because they truly are an amazing insight into the games. A nice and cozy side piece of information to the games. Extremely high quality and well made. Delivered in pristine condition.

En tant que grand fan de Final Fantasy, j'attendais ce livre avec impatience. Je n'ai pas été déçu : le livre est arrivé très vite, en excellent état et surtout, il s'agit d'un véritable artbook plein de concept arts et de petites anecdotes et histoires très intéressantes. Un must-have pour les fans.

Ottimo libro per gli amanti di Final Fantasy. Ho acquistato il 2 volume che contiene diverse informazioni, sketch e art. Arrivato tutto integro, senza graffi o ammaccature. Spedizione veloce e ottima consegna. Mi ritengo molto soddisfatta!

Lo dije en la reseña del volumen 3 de esta misma colección y lo repito para este volumen... contiene infinidad de detalles, apuntes, curiosidades, análisis, arte gráfico, etc.. para deleitarte en todos los sentidos. La presentación es de lujo con las tapas duras, cientos de páginas a todo color de una calidad excelente y a un precio bastante asequible. Además versa sobre los 3 mejores juegos de la saga: FFVII-FFVIII-FFIX. Al igual que los otros volúmenes está en inglés, y se necesita cierto nivel para poder entenderlo. Un libro imprescindible para una saga de videojuegos imprescindible
