Good product
Very good product, we like the Barking dog. We have had the alarm for three months and it has stopped working twice so I rebooted it by unplugging and removing the batteries and counting to 10 Replacing the batteries and plugged it back in spaceand then it worked again.

Worthless.
I can't believe I chose the more expensive dog barking security device, instead of the $23 one, offered by another company. This one is TERRIBLE! Even with nothing but wood or glass between the BACK of it, it STILL does not go off. I have put it all around the house with NO SATISFACTORY use. You have to be just a short few feet to get it to go of. Not loud at all. Did not bark for very long the first or second time. I'm disgusted. The price was high for the poor quality. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AND I DON'T WRITE A BAD REVIEW UNLESS I'M TRYING TO SAVE SOMEONE ELSE FROM TOTAL DISGUST. ๐

This fit the bill as it was easy to set up and I didnโt have to go ...
My neighborhood has seen an increase in parcel theft and break-ins in recent months, so I decided to look for some added security - something reasonable, to provide a deterrent when I was at work. This fit the bill as it was easy to set up and I didnโt have to go through the hassle of signing up for a contract or dealing with installation. The proximity sensor works well, and the remote control makes it easy to arm and disarm the device. The bark could be a little more realistic, but through the door it isnโt noticeable unless you stand and listen for a while. Overall, this was inexpensive insurance. I recommend it for people that donโt have lots of valuables to protect and want a little extra peace of mind. It may also save you the time and frustration of having to chase down stolen packages.

Triggers Through Walls...but Maybe Use the Alarm Sound Instead of the Barking Dog
Here's what I like: 1. It has a highly effective trigger range, that goes through walls (except when there's metal in between). I was able to put it at a number of different locations near our front door and there was not problem getting it to sound off. 2. It's loud. For sure someone outside, whether friend or foe will hear it loud and clear. 3. It has a remote control that allows you to arm it when you leaving your house. The Achilles heal: The dog sound does not sound realistic. Now may or man not be a problem because as a soon as a person with bad intent hears a dog barking he my just decide not to bother. But if decides to stay and list, he'll notice that short loop recording reveals that exact same sounds repeat over and over again. I have the impression that the totally length is 20 seconds. That said, I'm guessing that you'll find this issue with any alarm of this time. The Good News It has a regular alarm sound that is probably going to be more credible and scary to an intruder.

It sounds so real
I love that it gives you 2 options to choose from and it also has a panic button which sounds real loud. You can choose between having a doorbell sound or the dog's barking when someone is approaching your front door, the machine will start to go off! It doesn't shut off right away either. You can easily turn it off with the remote. My doorbell went out so having this option makes me happy. When we go to sleep at night we put the dogs barking which is loud enough to wake up anybody! We have it plugged into the wall but also have batteries inserted in it just incase we lose power. We're very pleased with it so far!

A disappointment
Wonderful when it works, it B'dongs when there is motion near the door, but I want the dog bark, it will NOT stay selected, and, the arm and disarm should be different buttons, not a "guess which" alternating button.

Does pretty much what it says - small investment to prevent burglaries - dead after 10 weeks
UPDATE The unit has stopped working properly after just 10 weeks in moderate service, just as others have warned. It turns on and works for a while but by the time you come home it doesn't respond at all - no barking. I dinged it a star because of that. -------------------------- This gets a solid 3 stars from me for just plain existing - it's exactly what I wanted, a motion detector that triggers an alarm of barking dogs. PROs * The recording is realistic and good enough to scare away burglars who don't want to deal with dogs. * The barking is loud enough to be heard well through the door * It works through doors and walls CONs * the remote won't work to turn it on and off, but does work to change the alarm type * it is omnidirectional - the flip side of working through doors and walls is that I haven't found a way to block it from the other side. It's not supposed to work well through metal so I tried aluminum foil and even a metal home office trash bin but nothing worked. when it's armed, it will bark every time I walk by the entry way from inside the house * it defaults to the door bell chime alarm every time it's plugged in. I just want it for the barking dogs. If it defaulted to that I could put it on a timer to start after we leave the house and stop before we get home. * the flip side to being loud enough is that it's obnoxious to have to hear when you're up close to plug it in and unplug it. This would be mitigated if the remote worked for ON/OFF but in our case it doesn't. Overall I'm happy to own it and have worked around the downsides. It's a very small investment to keep the burglars from breaking in to our house.

Product does work as advertised
The product does not work as advertised. The dog barking alert does not penetrate the required distance through the wood door. Must be within 5 or 6 feet before the alarm starts. Would not recommend this item

The bark is realistic!!
My only disappointment is that contrary to the instructions is does NOT return to the last setting used. For example if you only want the bark noise it may play a doorbell sound next.
