Screw on base plate too long....is there a shorter one on offer..?

Hey, you better exchange this base plate or you by one your self depends how urgent your request is. I have here the amazon description: 'MagiDeal Quick Release Plate for Camera Sling Quick Rapid Shoulder Neck Strap Belt', about £12

I am 5ft 8 and the strap is too long - camera hangs way below my hip and the shoulder pad is on my back. Is there any way to adjust to fit properly?

I'm 5'7" and don't have that problem,there's a strap with a plastic D ring that you can pull to shorten the harness. This should hang your camera just above your waist in a comfortable position ready to use.

What purpose is the D-ring designed to serve? Just as a convenience to hang something on? Anybody know what that is for?

D-ring is designed to make you adjust the length of strap easily.

The screw on the quick release plate seems too long for my sony a57, so that plate is loose. will it fit a fuji x-s10 properly and tightly?

Tightens fine on my olympus, maybe you could make a rubber gasket to shorten the screw length
