Professional Fleshing Knife - 8". Two-handled knife for small hides. Review: Very dull - Standard fleshing knife for a DIY. Just so dull it's disappointing. So dull that it's hard to sharpen. Ended up buying an Ulu knife and using that. Slower but worked 100% better. Review: I would buy - Works like a charm it’s easy on smaller animals skunks raccoons opposums really durable’s

Really nice blade
I have never fleshed a hide before and this one seemed to work great. I have now done four hides and I have no complaint about the blade. It seems to be a good size for pressure and clearance.

Difficult to use, not sharp
When I first read the reviews, I saw mention of the knife not being very sharp. I was skeptical of this and thought that the knife needed to be at the right angle and then it would work. I've tried this knife on two different pelts and you need to use an immense amount of pressure, and it still comes out quite rough and dirty.

Outstanding Product
Great hide flesher and grainer, this is the best one I’ve found anywhere online, the only way you could get a better one is if you had it custom made. The brand I used in the past is twice the price (even though it’s made from recycled materials) and it’s handles are thin instead of round, resulting in sore tired hands after working a whole hide. I love that this tool has good sized round handles, and so far seems very well made. I piled the handles well before use (just with olive oil) because the wood is raw. My only complaint is that the second one I ordered was vastly sharper than the first, it looks like the blade had been cut different or was not finished, and I had to spend a good amount of time getting it to be dull enough for working hides. Otherwise, this is the hide tool I’ll recommend to my students and peers for now on! Just be sure to check that the blade is full enough before getting into a hide
