FastCap Zero Clearance Tape

Needed a way to make my compound mitre more accurate. The most cost effective and easiest way was to install this product. All you have to do is peel the adhesive protective strip and attach it like a piece of thick tape. Then you simply operate your saw and it cuts in perfectly so that you now have a more precise cut. Highly recommend!

I recently purchased zero clearance inserts made of MDF for my table saw, and it made a huge difference. So I wondered if they made something similar for miter saws, since I am always getting small pieces of wood wedged down in the gap. I came across this item by chance, and knew it was definitely worth a shot for the price! It came overnight, and I installed one of the strips immediately.The material is a thin styrene with a VHB tape on the back, and it holds amazingly well. I cleaned the factory insert with alcohol, and let it dry before installation. Checked for fitment and trimmed as needed, it was very easy to install. I saw a couple of reviews mentioning chipping during the first cut, so I put a piece of painters tape along the path of the blade, and SLOWLY brought it down to make the initial cut. Super smooth with no chipping!! Not only will it prevent pieces of debris from getting stuck in the great divide, it will also improve splintering on the bottom of the cut. I will see how it lasts over time, and update if needed.

This zero clearance tape is pretty good. I like the pvc type material it's made out of. It's very easy to install. I would recommend wiping your surface with alcohol first before applying the tape. My only concern is the tape does not fully cover the area of my dewalt saw. If it was a tad bit longer it would be perfect, hence why I removed one star.

This tape works great. It is sturdy but easy to cut and adheres well. I adapted it to create a zero clearance slot for my table saw. Being able to shape it is a nice feature.

Just what I needed for my Miter saw.I often find the need to cut thin pieces or slivers of wood for various projects. Most often the small pieces would slip into the saw slot and or get caught in the blade.Using this tape prevents all that and my pieces just fall safely to the side.The tape is strong and stiff. It is thin enough so it doesn't offset the work piece.Using the tape on the table saw was a challenge to cut the first kiss. Since raising the blade caused the tape to lift. Fixed that by placing a flat board over it and than raising the blade to cut into it for a fine cut. Althought haven't noticed a need for it on the table saw.Once the tape is in place, it stays but can be removed with a little effort if needed.

This is a well thought out product and easy to use. After cleaning the miter saw with alcohol it's application was quite simple from there. It eliminated the possibility of small pieces falling through the gap. Fortunately it came as a 5 pack so I won't have to purchase them again for awhile. But I would purchase them again and recommend them to others as well!

WORKS WELL

I put this on my cross cut saw when it was new and I haven’t needed the second one yet after two months of continually cutting wood. The glue keeps it in place and I am extremely happy with it. It keeps small pieces from going under the saw or anything small from kicking back. I can’t imagine using a cross cut saw without it. I did it for years, but I will never do it again. Another thing I found about using the tape is it is the exact width as the saw blade so I know where the saw is going to cut I can put a line on the wood and place it exactly where the saw blade is going to go and be very accurate. This is a big-time saw upgrade.

Mit dem Produkt bin ich sehr zufrieden aber die Arbeit den Anschlag neu einzustellen ist mühsam.Qualität von dem Klebestreifen ist hoch, klebt sehr gut, auch nach gut 50 Schnitten. Der einschnitt reisst ganz leicht ein beim 1. Zuschnitt aber ich hätte mit mehr Gefühl arbeiten können.

I bought these to attach to my workshop mitre saw.They arrived very quickly indeed, and just as quickly were attached to my machine. It was a 5 minute job and they work perfectly. It made me realise, I need to by a better saw blade, one with a higher tooth count to make everything finish off without roughcuts and tear-out.Very pleased, well recommended.
