ECS WordSlinger Over-Head USB Leatherette Cushion Transcription Headset

I'm very happy with the quality of these headphones, particularly after years of using the ear buds which have a tendency to hurt after a while. Shipped out to me very quickly.

These headphones were recommended to me by my Transcription company that I recently started working for. My opinions on the item are as follows: Pros: They improve speech audio quality a lot, and they can get much louder than typical headphones. I have noticed an improvement in my work since purchasing these headphones. They are very easy to use (just plug in the USB) The cord is very long, so you can move away from your computer a little bit without knocking everything off the desk They fit well on small heads Cons: They feel very, very cheaply made, like something you would find at Five Below They have absolutely NO noise cancellation, so you must be in a quiet room to really get the benefit of the improved audio quality (or crank the audio up very loudly) They are uncomfortable. Most of the discomfort is mitigated for myself because I have a very small head, and they fit me well. However, for someone with a normal or large head, I'm sure they would be horrible for long periods of time They are way, way too expensive for the quality They are not cute and make you look really dorky when using them. Not a big deal if you work from home, but could be a deal-breaker if you care a lot about aesthetics.

First of all, it was obvious the package had already been opened. When I buy something NEW for over $50 I expect it to actually be new and not used! Why is that too much to ask??? I'm also not happy at all with the sound quality. They are honestly no better than the ear buds I normally use. Had a hard time getting the volume to come on. My computer required me to disable my speakers first. So then when the headphones did come on I nearly burst an eardrum because it was so loud. Not cool to do to a transcriptionist. They do warn you about this, but since I couldn't get them to work at first of course I was wearing them to see if the sound was too low. Then BAM they're trying to make me deaf. I don't understand why the volume on them is set at the highest level instead of the lowest. My computer volume was not set at a ridiculously high level to cause that. The headphones themselves do seem to be very comfortable. However, like I said my ear buds work just as well so likely these will sit in a drawer as backup just in case my speakers stop working.

The sound quality was wonderful and the clarity was out of this world, but it is too tight for me. I went back to my old headset.

I own a medical transcription company and was looking for an outstanding headset. After initially researching headsets online and in stores, I was left concerned that headsets geared more for music would not provide the clarity I needed for speech. With a little more research, I found headsets designed with transcription in mind. Wow! This is THE BEST and most comfortable headset I've ever had and at a very reasonable price! The only issue I've had is that, within the first month of owning the headset, the cord cover slipped down about an inch from the earpiece, leaving bare wires exposed. I first contacted the manufacturer, who was going to charge me shipping in the return/exchange process. No good! So, I went back through Amazon. I was three days within their free return policy. So easy! I had my new headset within a couple of days and just have to drop the damaged headset off at a UPS Store, who will take everything from there. Couldn't be easier!

my wife uses these and says things are both clearer and less harsh in sound... makes work easier.

These work great! Perfect for transcription especially when transcribing verbatim. They are quite loud and you can easily adjust the volume to hear those softly spoken and mumbled words. A must have for transcription! These are exceptional and will truly improve your production and quality! Thanks ECS!

I received a set of defective headphones that had a high-pitched noise in both sides. I exchanged that set and the second set had a high-pitched noise in one side. I returned that set and bought a different brand with no high-pitched noise. I contacted the company both times and they were unable to find a solution. Changing the inputs on my HP 2018 computer did not help.

This is fabulous for transcriptions. Not noise reducing but I can hear the speaker so much clearer.

I use this product for transcribing court proceedings. I find it's good for this purpose, good clarity of audio. Just plugged it into the computer and away it went. It's comfortable for me to wear for a few hours with short breaks.

It was as advertised and works well. I use it for work

I do medical transcription and this headset has pretty good vocal clarity. However, because it is on the ear as opposed to over the ear, after a short time they definitely begin to hurt the ears. I would suggest this brand, but over the ear pads.

It was a good headset for the 3 days I was able to use it before it broke.
