Osprey Transporter Heavy Duty Gear Tote

I bought this after an unexpected trip to the ER for my mother from a bug bite. I didn't have any phone chargers with me, we were in the midst of a very heavy thunderstorm and I was very ill prepared. I was running to the store to buy her a charger to get her through the first night admittance. And with our power being out for 3 days, I also had cords in my SUV, my mom's house and my house using a power pack along with them. In comes the Osprey. I currently have a large tech bag (with everything I need and some spares), a makeup bag with those "just in case you need them items", a beach towel folded as a stabilizer on the bottom (or if I may need it for something), an umbrella, a bag with ziplocks in them (you never know), a wet/dry bag, a dog "seatbelt" and a small first aid kit. I wanted everything I needed for on the go or a power outage, or an unexpected trip to the ER, with a power pack ready to drop in if needed. I am able to grab that bag and walk out the door without trying to gather things at the last minute. I spent a little extra buying things to pack it, but knowing everything is in one place was worth it. Both totes fit behind my front seats perfectly on the floor. I also bought the large Osprey Heavy Duty Gear Tote for my Starlink mini and tripod and once it arrives, I will add a heavy duty extension cord to it and a power pack. Power outages did this to me and an unexpected trip did this to me. I decided that I was going to be prepared. The Osprey totes has me ready to go.

I am a huge Osprey fan and have several of their backpacks and luggage items, as do my family members. Anything they make, in my opinion, is built to last. I ordered the 28 Liter tote and it is a very useful size with so many uses. This is what I like: * super sturdy construction and material which is water resistant * has a sturdy bottom that does not tip over when loaded with items * has a trolley sleeve that is perfect for going on top of a cooler or rolling luggage handle * has a zippered compartment with a hook for keys which gives you extra security when at beach or park etc * I love the 2 straps at the top of the tote that can give you further stability if you need it and helps keep items in place * great for all those extra things you need when checking into a hotel like snacks, wine, water, stuff you had been using in the car * excellent for items when headed to the beach that you need easy access to or do not need to be in cooler * probably too nice to use as a grocery tote but i have and it is outstanding for hauling heavy items safely, this bag will not break and the straps are so secure I actually use this more than I anticipated because it is just so handy. This would be an excellent gift item pretty much anyone could use.

I was really looking forward to receiving this tote. However, when it got here the way that it was folded for shipping caused permanent deep creases that prevent full access to the full volume of the bag, as it folds in on itself. It is also extremely simplistic - it’s basically just a water resistant tote bag. I’m thinking I will just use it for groceries, as opposed to camping.

I really love this bag. I primarily use it for groceries when shopping, and it works perfect. Even if the bag is heavy, it actually feels very comfortable to hold/carry. The carry straps are a bit wider and feels sturdy, as the the material of the bag itself. It makes carrying groceries from my car to home much easier. I have some other reusable bags that I had been using, and this is such a steep upgrade. The other bags feel cheap and hurt your hands because the carry straps are thin, cheap fabric. The only think I wish was different with this bag is the compactibility. You can't really fold it up and store it in a cabinet when not in use. But I get why, it's made to be able to hold heavier items and not lose its shape. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good reusable bag! Worth the investment!

Bag is solidly build and holds its shape when you stand it up. Great for carrying purchases or a picnic. Love the purple colour.
