Good info for the 4.0 l.
Great book for regular rebuilding, but if you're wanting to do a stroker, there's not enough information. It only covers the internal parts.

Great pictures, good info.
I used this book as an aid to replacing a head vs an entire overhaul, so can't talk about all of content. However, the parts I needed were clearly illustrated and very useful. Very high quality color photos and slick paper. Nothing like a Chilton's or Haynes in that respect. There was a section on strokers that I was hoping for a little more detail on... but understandable it was only high level I guess, the book's focus in the breaking down, refurbishing, and reassembly of the 4.0. Not a hot rodding book.

Extremely detailed!
This book is awesome if you plan to rebuild your 4.0. It is extremely detailed and has everything from piston ring gap specs to ring orientation, all the way down to how to use plastigauge. It has just about every single torque spec on the engine, and even detailed instructions on how to install the engine into your vehicle. Not to mention probably over 80 sources that the book is derived from, so it seems to be a trustworthy source. If you're building a 4.0, this will help drastically

Less than remarkable
This book is a good starting point but not much more than that. All the info is available online for free already. I was expecting something more in-depth but this is basically a 4.0 for dummies book. But if that's what you need you won't be disapointed.

This book has been amazing in the building of my offroad toy. Plan to get others in the series and would absolutely suggest if you want to learn.

Very informative and enlightening read. Lots of useful shortcuts and accurate information, given by specialists. Making it possible for any competent and mechanical minded individual to rebuild and improve upon the Jeep 4 litre straight 6.

Very good quality book
Very good quality book for some one looking to rebuild a jeep 258 or 244 (The 258 block is the same and most of the parts are different sizes but the same, but the 4.2L or 258 is carborated and the 4.0 or 244 is fuel injected)
