SANOHRA Fly for children and adults with small ear canals. This causes ear pain when flying. Over half of all flight passengers know the unpleasant feeling of pressure or pain in the ear that occurs especially during the landing approach. The ear is a very sensitive sensory organ. Behind the airtight eardrum lies the middle ear. When the air pressure in the aircraft cabin rises quickly during landing approach, a relative negative pressure is created in the middle ear. Now the Eustachian tube, a tube-like connection between the middle ear and nasopharynx, must provide pressure equalisation. If the Eustachian tube cannot produce the now necessary active opening quickly enough, a relative negative pressure is created in the middle ear. This pushes the eardrum towards the middle ear. This leads to ear pain, bleeding in extreme cases. The otolaryngologist refers to this as barotrauma. SANOHRA fly has been specially developed to protect the ear from quick and strong changes in air pressure. A pressure regulator (apc), which is integrated into the earplugs, regulates and slows pressure changes in front of the eardrum. SANOHRA fly protects the ear. SANOHRA fly is used 45 minutes before landing. The pressure in the cabin that increases rapidly in a few minutes before the eardrum slows down and increases more evenly. This gives the Eustachian tube more time, even with limited functionality, to provide ventilation of the middle ear before ear pain occurs. Tested at the Charité in BerlinIn a study at the ENT clinic at Campus Charité Mitte a selected group of subjects with known ear problems when flying in a pressure chamber was examined. A significant reduction in pain sensation was demonstrated by the delay of pressure change through the filter. Tested by passengers. More than 500 passengers participated in a user acceptance study conducted by the Institute of Marketing and Management of Leibniz University Hannover for Hannover Airport, the TUIfly and the Innosan GmbH, over 90% of subjects report an improvement in their complaints. In the group of subjects who previously assessed their ear pain as moderate, around 80% were completely pain-free by SANOHRA fly. Over 80% of all subjects would recommend SANOHRA fly to their friends. SANOHRA fly earplugs are available in two standard sizes: - for adults. - - for children from one Year up to approx. 12 years adults with narrow ear canals should use the child size so that they do not press when wearing in the ear canal.
