The extends the life of my Ulu
I count of my Ulu as a great chopping and skinning tool and it must be kept sharp. This Alaska Ulu Sharpener keeps it the way I need it. By the way, the ONLY Ulu to get comes out of Alaska...don't get one from any place else!

Not an Ulu Sharpener, But an Okay Sharpener for Other Knives
First, this is NOT the correct sharpener for an Ulu (it sharpens both edges and not just the beveled edge that an Ulu needs). Why this is being marketed for an Ulu is beyond me. With that said, this is an okay sharpener for your average kitchen knife. Had I known this was just a regular sharpener, I would not have bought it because I specifically wanted an Ulu sharpener, but if I had bought this for other knives I wouldn't be too disappointed.

Ulu Knife Sharpener
The Ulu knife has one side of the blade that is sharp. Most all manual hand-held sharpeners sharpen both sides of the blade. The Alaska Ulu Sharpener sharpens only one side of the blade.
