I have a black doodle mix who is always very hot even in the shade and is not really an "outside" dog. We have a lake house and are always outside. He does not like the water and won't get in the lake. So I was looking for some relief for him in the TX heat. I put the vest in the lake water and then put it on him. After some time I felt his fur under the vest and he was cool to the touch and was not panting as he had been. The vest was no longer wet to the touch when I did this. This really helped keep my dogs temperature down. I would recommend!

My husband thought I was crazy when we bought this, but we use it nearly every day during this hot summer! We have a 23lb mini goldendoodle puppy, and the small fits her perfectly. I like how it has a double zipper for if she grows just a few more pounds and you can extend the chest width.I have a few thoughts:My last dog HATED water, and my current puppy loves it. This is only a theory, but I think that dogs who hate water might be unhappy wearing it. My pup licks the water on her chest for a few seconds after it’s put on, but otherwise she’s entirely comfortable while wearing it. Also, if we’re out for a while and it dries out, I can just pour more water on her. I know that with my last dog, this would have been an absolute dealbreaker. It has anti-UV light reflection, which helps your dog stay cool, but when it dries out it doesn’t do the cooling job as effectively.The final thing is that the plastic pieces that you hook your leash onto are slightly inconvenient. They’re widely spaced and you have to try to fumble with them to get your leash attached to both. I’ve found that it helps to loop one side and then the other with the metal clasp on the end of the leash!Other than those things, this is well worth buying and very effective! I place my hand beneath the harness to check the temperature of the vest, and it stays cool for a very long time.

I live in Phoenix. Last summer we had a solid month of 110+ degree days. This summer I have a new, high energy dog and I knew he’d make both our lives hell if I couldn’t find a way to keep him exercised. So I bought this vest back in April.It’s now June, most days are already over 100 degrees and often close to 110, and we use this thing daily. We don’t walk in the worst parts of the day, of course. But this morning we did a 5.25 mile, 2 hour walk, with the temp rising from 80 degrees to 88, and he only started panting in the last 15 minutes or so. He only needed one drink of water about mid-walk. It’s amazing.Some caveats: this works by evaporative cooling, so idk how well it would work in humid climates. Here in the dry-as-bone desert, it works GREAT—but the water evaporates so fast that I usually have to add water a few times during a long walk. It’s best to press the mouth of the water bottle directly against the fabric. If I just pour it over, most of the water runs off before it soaks in. Also, I keep keep the whole soaking wet vest in a ziploc bag in the refrigerator, and I even pop it into the freezer for just a few minutes before we go. It starts him off on the walk nice and cool.My only other complaint is that the elastic loop that lets you adjust the fit of the waist is located very inconveniently for male dogs. You can use a paper clip to tuck it out of the way against the vest, but still. Annoying.My dog is 12 lb and wears an XS. It’s a little bit loose on him when he’s freshly groomed (he’s a poodle mix), but when his fur is longer it’s perfect. The neon yellow has faded a bit, but who cares? The thing works. The loops to attach his leash have held up perfectly, although he is small and not a puller so YMMV.(Note: the neon leash in my pics is not included, I bought that separately.)

My boy has MMM, an autoimmune disease that destroyed his jaw muscles. So he overheats quickly. This vest helps a LOT to keep him cool in the dreaded heat. It has 2 different zipper tracks so it will fit your pup specifically, tightens on the underbelly, and has attached harness clips. Zip it up inside out and it washes with no issue (yes I already had to wash mine and have had it for 5 seconds lol). Highly recommend.

It’s probably my dog. She doesn’t even like to wear a collar. Nothing that she wasn’t born with. Had to convince her she could walk in it. Never could convince her she could sit in it. It fit very well in either Zipper setting. Watered it down & put in freezer. Worked it so it was flexible before putting it on her. Didn’t seem to keep the cool very long. Poured cold water on it but didn’t seem to help. I could say more, either good or bad. But it’s dinner time & I’m hungry. Oh, well made, good quality

I think this vest helped my frenchie stay cool on his walk, on a hot day. I got him a size medium and he is 26 pounds. It fits him good and snug from the neck and there’s a little space by his stomach. He will definitely wear it the rest of the summer.

This delivery was delayed but definitely worth the wait. It really works at keeping our tiny short faced dogs cool. However, we do have to dry them when we get them back indoors. It’s thicker than other ones we ordered and sent back but they don’t seem to mind it because it’s lightweight. They don’t have any problems running in it even though it’s a bit big on these 4 pound dogs. They look comfortable and we love the zipper because it makes it easy to get on and off them. The durability of this 3M cooling vest makes it a good value in the long run.

My 10 year old Yorkie has been getting less and less heat tolerant, but he loves nothing more than a nap in the sunshine on our deck. I had a hard time finding one for his size — he’s pretty tiny, only 8 pounds, but this fits him perfectly! True to size for sure. I’ve been super impressed with it the last couple weeks. Before, he’d be outside in the sunshine for 10 minutes before he’d start panting, and then I’d have to drag him inside (he would give himself heatstroke if it were up to him. I’ve tried cooling towels before and they’ve never worked because he refuses to use them. This thing is great because I’m basically forcing him to stay cool). Now, he’s not panting at all, and the vest keeps him cool for a good couple hours before I wet it again. He seems very comfortable, and it definitely puts my mind at ease. In fact, we had to go inside today because *I* was overheating. He was totally fine and dandy. Would definitely recommend!!

This arrived just as the heat wave in British Columbia began. It was 30 degrees today, and it is only May! I have used a cooling vest for years now, and the old one needed replacing. This one is way better than my previous one. It has a double zipper, I assume for different widths of dogs and it was nice and comfy on my pup Acorn. It is really well made with two layers, so when both layers are wet, it lasts longer. If you are out for longer you just wet it again. I also like that you don't need a harness with this one. We had a good walk in the park, mostly in the shadier parts and Acorn was perfectly happy. Just remember to keep your pups off the concrete and tarmac so they don't burn their paws.

Personally, I will rarely use it because of the size of my dog, but if you have a dog, that’s 10 pounds and up this is a very well-made product.
