Iberia Chorizo Spanish Style Sausage, 5 Ounce

Spanish Chorizo cannot be replaced or substituted for Mexican chorizo because they are completely different, so this is a great Product to go for if your local grocery stores don't carry any. I was a little worried about buying meat from Amazon but it was cured and vacuum sealed very well like a quality jerky or summer sausage. I used this to make genuine Spanish-style stuffed mushroom tapas for my in-laws who have been to Spain and love Spanish cuisine. Me and my husband loved the flavor, but even my in-laws had nothing but good reviews even with their experience!

I’ve ordered several chorizos via Amazon, and this one was ok but nothing amazing. There is a spice in this one that I can’t quite pinpoint, which was bit jarring to my tastebuds. Having said that, it was great in paella. But some leftover diced chorizo I put into other dishes resulted in the unusual flavor note being very noticeable to me and I didn’t care for that.

This stuff is trash. Has no flavor. And smells like rotting flesh. Don't waste your money.

So not a bad deal on price compared to other Chorizo’s you get 4 little links in a pack all hooked together with the butchers string. I prefer to eat my Chorizo typically as is, these are extremely hard, not juicy, not too spicy and the casing has a definite snap sort of like a Chicago hot dog casing. These are not bad at all just to me not that flavorful, I did end up heating them and blindfolded I would have swore it was just regular Pepperoni then. The snappy casing too while okay in a hot dog seemed out of place.

This chorizo is delicious. We made arroz congri with it. It was a hit. One package was the perfect amount for a family size dish. I'm glad I ordered multiple packages!

It was what I was needing and it worked in my receipts for Spanish and Cuban cuisine. Spanish chorizo is very different from the Mexican chorizo.
