Top Quality
This no gimmicky toy. Itโs a solid, built to last, piece of training equipment. I bought it to use on my gym off-days and for travel. It has two grip position points, which are very effective. It has a unique weight distribution configuration that uses the inner frame of the door and doesnโt stress the molding or other exterior points. Itโs simple to assemble, with the included wrench, in a few minutes. Great quality for the price.

Fits great on my doorways. Sturdy materials to support a large person.
There are so many reviews of the Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar that I don't know what else I can say, other than the reports of this product's great quality are not exaggerated. After having read several reviews, good and bad, I knew that I needed to establish that my door frames were the right width for the workout bar so I measured the door frame width and the thickness of the molding on the upper part of the door. The door frame was about 32" wide and the molding just under 1/2" thick - which seemed to be right for this product based on the reviews of others, so I ordered it. The Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar arrived a day earlier than estimated in great condition. There were no signs it had been tampered with or previously opened. It came with the useless "Free Mail in Ab Strap" offer. But since the shipping and handling is $8 and you can get ab straps at Wal-Mart for just as cheap, there was no incentive there. Assembly was very easy. The bolts fit into place with no problems. Previous reviews that mentioned the little wrench that was included being of poor quality were correct. Having read those reviews, I didn't expect much out of it. I hand tightened the bolts in place then used the included wrench to tighten gently without over-stressing the tool. But, still, by the time I was done, it was beginning to warp and wear out. It's a one use only implement, I'm afraid. I finished up tightening using a wrench of my own. Once assembled, I placed it in the doorway to a back room in the house. It held in place just fine and fit square on top of the door frame and flush against the wall on the door hinge side. The pull up bar's padded ends fit square against the door frame with no overhang - just the right size. I was nervous when actually putting my weight on it. I weigh just over 220 lb. I feared the crackling sound of wood moving and breaking and drywall disintegrating. I slowly started putting my weight on the workout bar. No crackles, snaps or pops. It held me and allowed me to do 3/4 of a pullup (I'm a work in progress), a complete chin up and several negative motions. I also just hung from it several times. There was a slight blemishing of the paint on the wall just above the frame - but I can only blame my weight and the materials used in my home's construction. It's not the fault of the workout bar. It's sturdy materials did their job - there was no bending of the bar that I could notice as I tested it out. Time will tell what kind of padding I might need to supplement the placement of the bar. All in all, this is a great piece of equipment. People need to measure their door frame's width and thickness before purchasing the workout bar and assess the quality of their location's construction. P.S. I did not find the metal clip/door frame wedge included in the package to be necessary.

Great work out bar.
This makes a great gift for anyone that loves to workout. Very sturdy and the height is adjustable. No missing parts. Very safe to use.

It works, but...
Definitely listen to the person that said to measure the doorframe, but you will want to measure the OUTSIDE of the frame as well. If I attempt to use this in a couple of rooms in my semi-narrow hallway, it is too wide. My hallway is somewhat narrow (the house was built in '60's) and goes just outside a 2" doorframe. Fortunately, I have other places to use it where it fits fine. Assembly wasn't too difficult for me since I'm good at figuring things like that out, but there are no real formal directions for assembly. Only a diagram that tells you to assemble according to the diagram. I could easily see someone having a little difficulty if do-it-yourself isn't your forte. It does feel pretty secure and sturdy. However, doing abdominal pull ups, you should spring for the arm devices you can send away for, for an additional $8 S&H. Though they are advertised as "free", whatever. Without them, it is pretty hard on your hands to do that exercise and most women can probably forget it unless you buy them or find something else to use as the same function. A word of fitness caution: you may find that you actually need some work prior to doing chin ups. This has absolutely nothing to do with the manufacture or function of this item. It functions as promised, but if you have no other way to test if you even CAN do everything you are supposed to with this, there is a good chance you can't and while it can be used for sit-ups or push ups as promised, I'll bet you can do those without this equipment. So in short, it isn't for everyone and unless you have other work out methods, chances are this isn't worth the expenditure and will end up collecting dust. If you already know your limitations, work out regularly and are simply looking for an inexpensive, convenient way to bring some bits of the gym home with you, go for it. Well worth it in that case. If you are buying because you convinced yourself that once you buy this, all those pounds will disappear you'll be "ripped" per the advertising, do the simple inexpensive things at home or join a gym first to see what works for you and if you would even use it. I work out regularly with a treadmill and a bow flex and I think this is probably going to collect more dust than it is worth for me. My arms are not so large (nor do I want them to be) as to really be capable of doing chin ups, or at least not for a long while yet. It isn't worth the expense strictly for the push ups and sit ups, and I have to buy the extras to do pull ups.

Just about perfect so far.
Just what I needed. And the price that I paid on Amazon was actually more affordable than Walmart and a couple of dollars less than it is now. So I guess I ordered mine at the right time, a time where Amazon was feeling a little generous I guess. I've only had this item for like 40 mins, and I had a good feeling about it from the start. Assembly was pretty simple(took about 10-12 mins), and all parts were there except for the ab straps which I don't really need anyway; because with this I can easily improvise. It fits nicely above the closet doorway which is about 2.5 ft wide or about 2ft. 7in., and it holds my weight very well; I'm 180. I still have yet to try it out on a wider door frame, but I'm sure that it will fit above the other doors as well. A very nice tool for fitness enthusiasts and a great way to build strength and muscle when the dumb bell set just isn't enough anymore. A very nice and affordable gift for someone who likes to workout a lot. I've been wanting a chin up bar for a long time, and now I finally have one and I love it. It's so easy to use, another plus. Iron Gym is my new best friend. Highly recommended. Money well spent, what more can I say? ***UPDATE*** After trying this product on 3 different doorways, it works on all 3 and each are different widths. However, I did notice how it will leave small indentations in the side molding of the door frame and sometimes black scuff marks on the paint. The foam grips and padding seem like they might last for a couple of months, but I do intend to improvise when they wear out. I'm about to place a thin piece of padding in between the frame of the door to prevent more serious damage, because I do believe with heavy usage the Iron Gym will do further and more noticeable damage to the door frame. Thinking about my weight, the natural effects of wear and tear and my passion for working out; I'm going to have to take certain measures to ensure that I do not cause serious structural damage to the door frame. This will probably do damage even quicker with heavier people, so keep an eye on the condition of your door frame after every workout. Other than that, it's still a great product that I intend to use every day.

light, easy and fully functional
A nice easy to setup piece of equipment. I can do pull-ups and chin-ups without a problem using this piece of equipment. You have a few positions to grab it with, but obviously all of them are very narrow as it's setup in a doorway. If you want to do wider than shoulder grips you can't. I'm only 5.10" and have to really bend my legs at the knees to do full stretch pull-ups. I do have long arms which doesn't help. It's not a problem but takes some getting used to which I just didn't think about before getting it. It's just something I noticed after using it. On the doorway it's nice and sturdy. I did find that you would be on the side opposite the door open side. This leaves me not being able to pull up all the way because it's in a downstairs hallway where the ceiling is just higher than the door. Then I realized all of our hallways have this problem so I'd be stuck without being able to pull up completely to the top. This means you don't get to really at the top and it's more strain in the end. I guess you can look at it from the perspective of you're working harder too. LOL I don't mind just wanted to advise you that it may happen if your ceiling is just barely higher than your doorway like many older homes have. It's very stable and leaves no marks on the doorway. It took a few minutes to screw together and then it's up and running. If you want a simple, economical piece of equipment to do chin-ups with it's great. Just be aware of a few things I've learned after owning it. None of those things stop me from using it and it's easily put away when guests are coming. It's a great simple piece of equipment. I find myself wishing I could somehow go to the other side of the doorway. This would mean I have to remove the door and who wants to do that? It's not going to stop you from using it, but for some doorways it's not optimal.

Good product you can hang it across the door by just fitting at wooden block at one side of door and then you can hang it from other side. Good durable and worth product and you can do many exercises from this. It's definitely better than simple bars plus less expensive.
